I agree with James about the figures being bouncers as the are very chunky and not the slim build as on the box art. It is unfortunate as no other kit manufacturer makes U.S. Military Police to my knowledge and I needed some of them to man a roadblock diorama I am making.

Agree with you there. Had similar thoughts about these figures for a small diorama myself. The only other U.S. MP set I know of is Tamiya's ancient 2 figure set, that came out originally in1976 #MM184, (built one back then) later re issued under #35084. If you can find it. Miniart can be very hit and miss with it's figures..... Cheers!

I built the standard version of this kit. Poses are good but don't be deceived by the box art, these guys look like wrestlers or bouncers from a night club.they are very chunky with massive heads

Thanks James, good to know. The heads are quite solid looking. Might replace them with some resin ones. Cheers!

These figures looks like from an old Miniart kit 35014 U.S Truck bantam 40 BRC.

Excellent. Thought I had seen these Miniart figures before, but Googled Miniart Jeep instead of Bantam. Yes. the Bantam kit with these figures came out in 2008. Cheers, and thank you!

Great review Pete thanks. Was thinking of getting these for a diorama but as others have said the MP's are chunky (perhaps been enjoying a little too much French cuisine...) so I'll give them a miss. BTW insignia on the decals represents 4th Infantry Division ("The Ivy Division"), 29th Infantry Division ("Blue & Gray") & 2nd Armored Division ("Hell on Wheels"). All these units participated in Normandy and subsequent campaigns. Cheers.

Hi mate. Thanks for the info on the insignia. Much appreciated. And yes, these guys do look like they've been away from the Front for quite a bit, and enjoying some good French hospitality....Cheers!

Where do you buy your kits from?
@PetesKits3 жыл бұрын
Most of my kits come from private sellers, with good reputations, on Ebay, or from Model Retailers on Ebay when they have a sale on. I usually browse "new listings" maybe once/twice a day, which is how I sometimes snag a bargain, or hard to find kit. I try never to pay full retail if I can, and always have an eye out for kits going cheap. Especially if it's free postage! Cheers!
