Miniature 4 Cylinder Engine + Gearbox!

Back about 35-40 years when I first got into the gas powered RC stuff this stuff was a thing of dreams. It's crazy how far the hobby has come. I would have given a million bucks for something like that when I was a teenager lol if I had it. I can't wait to see what you put this in it's going to be really awesome! The only good sounding small scale v8 is the conley v8, the others just sound out of timing and lazy

@@tomsrelaxationchannel2998 The conley is the king of mini engines, by a mile, but this is the closest we can get these days. I've been hoping Johnny would track down a conley since he started in mini engines.

They sound lazy because they ARE lazy^^ no torque or better said not enough torque to really use them in rc cars^^

Things sure have come a long ways from the old days of the OS single cylinder 2-stroke engines, lol. Transmission is incredibly cool. Pretty amazing what can be made with those metal 3D printers.

From humble opinion, I believe the transmission should have a lot more grease in it or an extra pump to circulate & cool the transmission fluid as a lot of people I have seen by adding a radiator for the coolant & engine oil.

One of these would be great in a RC Boat. Cooling could be handled with 'Raw' water pumped directly from the pond or pool. With a gear box for forward or reverse operation

It shouldn't be too hard to do a single-speed transverse setup with this engine, especially for someone with the equipment and skills of johnnyq90. Heck, I have a couple of transverse FWD Kyoshos with OS 12CV engines.

Amazing gearbox! And the glass sides were good addition to the whole assembly. The engine idle sounds almost like my dads ford escort with 2.3l ohc without exhaust but little bit higher while big engine sounds deeper

The transfer case is there now add a front and rear differential and axles and wheels and show us the shifting through the gears to show the wheel speed. That would be a cool small scale vehicle chassis

You're gonna have to set the servo end point limits on the gear change servos, or they are going to burn out. You can hear them whining after they get activated to change gears. It's either trying to go past it's limit, or is bottoming out on the gear change. It should move and then be silent, like when they are in neutral. When it's continually whining like that, it's basically grunting the entire time and causing damage
