Cricut Maker Miniature X Chair - 1:12 Scale
Another addition to The Abandoned Boudoir Diorama. No noblewoman's household would be complete without a stately chair or two...
A recent cold has left me with a raspy voice (more than usual!) - so this video is non-verbal. I've done my best to demonstrate all of the steps as clearly as possible. If you are left with any questions, don't hesitate to ask them in the Comments Section.
I hope you'll enjoy this quiet walkthrough of the latest design from Thicketworks Studio.

I had court this morning and while I was waiting for it to start I was checking my email, messages etc and saw there was a new Heather Tracy video. I was soooooo excited ALL and couldn't wait until I had some free time to watch it. My husband and I decided to be all bougie and go downtown for coffee because someone gave him a gift card for a upscale coffee shop where I live. After I got my plain iced coffee (I'm a simple kinda gal when it comes to coffee. Lol), I sat down by the fire (its cold, wet and dreary here today) and settled in to watch my video. There is jazz music playing in the background at the coffee shop so when I first played the video I didnt hear the music being played. I actually thought something was wrong with my phone once I made sure the volume was turned up but still didnt hear anything. I even said this to my husband. About that time I heard the music from the video which confused me more so I checked the description box to see if there was a explanation. Oh how disappointed and sad I was to read I wouldn't be able to hear Ms Heather's soft soothing voice today. While this video was just as excellent as all the others it wasnt quite the same for me. I love the DIY videos cause they are so relaxing and I have alot going on in my life at the moment. My husband and I are currently homeless. He was laid off a couple months ago and u just recently lost my job. So I especially love Ms Heather's videos because of her wonderful talent and her incredible voice! Sometimes watching one of her videos helps calm me when I'm about to lose my shit due to being stressed out over everything going on. Sometimes her videos even lull me to sleep so I hope you feel better soon Ms Heather and I look forward to hearing your soothing voice next week! Take care! Some tea with a little honey will do wonders for your sore throat!

Well sweet lady, you outdid yourself on this one!! It is strange, even though we did not have the voice over (hope your are feeling better) Your voice was in my head. I even bet that when you were joining the pieces you would have said * Line them up to the best of your ability!) One thing I would like to mention is that it has been amazing to see you and your techniques evolve!!! This chair seem to be a culmination of all the pieces since you fist cut the door to the secret garden on the cricket maker Just the technique for sanding using the nail drill and the improved use of the super glue has made such a big difference. My whole outlook on mixed media and miniatures has changed since I have started following you. Each day now is so much fun. I get up and think about *what am I going to work on today!) It's the first time in a long time that I look forward to each day. Thank you Heather.

Hello Heather. Can you tell me why you alternate between using the zig 2-way and uhu glues and is there a reason why you don’t use the applicators that come with the starbond superglue. By the way your work is AWESOME!
@Thicketworks
@Thicketworks 4 жыл бұрын
Hi @Jen'e Wordlaw - it's nice to meet you. The choice of glue usually depends on a few factors.. If the piece is pretty intricate, I usually prefer ZIG because of the ability to apply it with the pen tip. Uhu is a stronger adhesive, like FabriTac, and it's pretty messy (lots of strings - yuck!), so I often grab it when more strength is required but not so much precision. In the past, I have used the included fine detail tips that come with Starbond, but the metal tipped precision applicator I use now is VASTLY more controllable. I find that I use much less product, with much less mess than before. Thanks for your kind words, my friend. xoxo

@Thicketworks
@Thicketworks 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Edwina! Nope, the foam core is coated with modeling paste, strengthening it considerably. Once the foam core is coated with something that will protect it from a chemical reaction, superglue can be applied to the surface. It's sturdy. xoxo
