Gorgeous army, and a joy to see on display. Since I don't play Warhammer, I've been painting up a lot of Colin Patton's dwarven sculpts from Conqueror Miniatures and Ragnarok Miniatures, with some random supporting characters from Northstar, Asgard Rising, and others which I can't remember. Planning to do wars between the Dwarves and Goblins in an Icelandic setting. I hope your collection brings you as much joy as mine has!

I am beyond jealous and impressed at this stunning looking army. Fantastic job, sir. You've also solved a bit of a list building problem I've had myself, where you've managed to fit so many things in one list. By not running the King in the same unit as the BSB you've got both main fighting blocks benefitting from the Ancestral Grudge rule against an enemy character! I'm really curious if you've got some games in yet with this army, because this looks really fun to play and collect. You've got me feeling pretty inspired by now.

GW insta account teased them but was very coy in answering questions about when that would be which ranged from we will know more when Warhammer Community tells us to "soon".

It's a gorgeous army, cheers for sharing! You might be right on the release being delayed because of AoS. My guess for the next release after the Sons of Grugni, is Chaos, reasoning is good faction- evil faction- good faction- evil faction and so on, choice based on popularity.

BEAUTIFUL army, I definitely want to see more of it! Maybe not full battle reports - but can you do some sort of retelling of battles they have been in? Do a story like a Dwarf being in the fight would tell it, with pictures of the relevant units when they are the focus of the story. If you have models of the opposing army/armies, you could recreate scenes from battles in more dramatic pictures (like they do in battle reports in WD). Also: [insert joke of Dwarfs needing more time because of shorter legs here]. Yeah yeah, I'm going into the book, I know. ;)

Nice looking army, it does have that original Fantasy range painting style but with a modernized color palette, you even emulated the GW style presentation 👍🏼 The only "Dworf" I have ever had is the one hanging on my Black Orks banner 😆 Glad I kept my two original mostly metal Fantasy armies: Night Gobbos and Dark Elves.

Maybe Thorek Ironbrow with a unique anvil of doom and buffs to non-mechanized/non-gunpowder units like grudge throwers and quarrelers? They could also do one around Thorgrim Grudgebearer's expedition to Norsca and the Lost Holds.

Nice mix of older and newer models, they all fit well together. I've spent the last 5 months slowly hoovering up metal Hammerers and Miners on eBay. Now I have to take a deep breath and look for the Longbeards too, although I like what you did to the plastics. Have your Rangers got shields on their backs? And did you just cut the hands off their double handed axes and stick them to their backs too? I ask cos they look really nice and I've got exactly the same models ready to paint up but I've put shields on their hands and I kind of prefer your version. Where's that sharp knife? ....😁

Just a thought on why dwarves are not out yet. There is a price increase coming 10 of june. In scandinavia that increase is up towards 15%. Releasing the dwarfs for two weeks and then raising the price would be like GW was discounting them at launch. Not really GWs style and it may also create some anger from those who wanted stuff on release but then having to pay 15% more because the items went out of stock as usual.

Possibly yes, though they’re releasing other stuff as usual, so that price rise will hit some products in the way you’ve described, so not sure they’d see the Dwarf release as anything different. I think it will be this Sunday now, there’s Dwarf related teasers on some of their social media.

There’s a mix of models from the late 1980s right through to the newer plastics. The ones from Cities of Sigmar were actually all old Warhammer Fantasy models released in 8th edition (Longbeards, Hammerers, Irondrakes, Gyrocopters).

The price rise is on the 10th I think, so anything apart from today’s planned pre-orders will now be on the new prices from launch. Though it may have been part of the thinking, with it being more of a range rather than a separate set.
