A good way to see if you use the product or not so you can declutter next time is to place a sticker or some tape where the product opens, and later if you go back and the tape is still on it, declutter it :))))) hope this helps!

Mine is when they make a "maybe" pile. Just say yes or no. Make a decision. Making a maybe pile which can go back into the yes pile or go to no, doesn't show us a proper decluttering. Because that we can't see what they really kept or didn't because most times, the maybe pile is never gone through in the video. They do it off camera and we can't see what happens.

FYI cosmetics have expiration dates. The box has a can looking thing and on it will say 6M or 12M. You are supposed to throw things out 6 months or 12 months after opening. Liquids expire sooner than powders. I mark mine with the throw out date.

deltaflute03 most people know this but come on ... makeup it's not cheap so you don't really wanna trow a palette after a year and buy a new one. the modern renesance says 6 months but i am for sure gonna keep it more

anitasintimiXX The reason for throwing it away is bacteria and germs not to mention molds build up overtime. You risk infections when you don't throw them out. If money is the issue, buy less and in smaller travel sizes. All in all I'd rather pay for the makeup rather than the dermatology visit and subsequent medications. But it's your face.

Not everything comes in Travel Sizes. Show me travel size eyeshadow pallettes. Also, lol derm costs are nothing if you're already going for other issues. Milk the money out of the appointment cost. (This is coming from someone whose staple med costs $3000+ before insurance)

deltaflute03 actually thanks for the answer. yeah it is my face and my decisions, i personally do get rid of more dangerous things like mascara or lipsticks after i had them for quite a while , but powders are not as dangerous as creams or liquids so i tend to keep them for longer.

CallMeMomou I own a set with three eyeshadow colors. Depending on the brand you can find smaller size or fewer color choices and change colors when the older color expires. Many companies also offer samples if you are unsure of what you may like. And I told someone else it's your body but I would recommend taking care of it. Having eye surgery to drain a stye is costly and painful.

The neat thing about cleaning is sometimes you find things you forgot you had. It's like getting a reward. You do have a huge amount of makeup. Sounds like you may not need to shop for a long time. I heard the other day that there is a shelf life on some kinds of cosmetics that have been open like mascara and creamy liquid items. It's sad when good makeup has to be discarded but on the positive side you will have more room for the products you do use on a regular basic. All the best with your decluttering. This is a big project you are undertaking so give yourself the time you need. Take care.

First of all pigment is another word for color, you mean loose powder. Seccondly, minimalism is not just spring cleaning. Minimalism is only keeping the things you need and use. That is why minimalists often have less stuff than non-minimalists. By you saying "minimalism|extreme decluttering my makeup" you are claiming a connection to minimalism that you obviously dont have. The ammount of makeup you own and still kept after the decluttering is extremely unneccessary, and most minimalists would agree with me. There are a ton of young people who will claim they are minimalists just to be trendy.

In comparison to what she kept, im a minimalist when it comes to makeup. I have 1 foundation, 1 powder, quite a few eyeshadows but i use every single one and i use them for various purposes, a few lipsticks but again i use each one, 1 mascara, 1 blush, and 1 primer
