Wow what a journey it's been! It was so nostalgic to look back at how far I have come since starting my minimalism journey. Hopefully this encourages those of you who are beginning on your adventure into minimalism. You can watch my whole decluttering process in my minimalism playlist here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmOzlqmEiKuLrKM

You have changed my life. I have gotten rid of so many things. I no longer put heat on my hair and use low poo. I no longer wear makeup I've learned to feel beautiful in my own skin. And to embrace my natural hair. Thank you. I love all of your minimalist videos!

I laughed at the "messy room part" I started my minimalism journey because I just wanted to have a tidier room. Now being able to watch your videos and other minimalist on social media actually opened my eyes on the other benefits of the lifestyle. It just feels great to have this mindset and goals. Thanks for your videos.

I had a life changing injury back in 2015 which completely changed my outlook on pretty much everything. The past 18 months I've donated/sold clothes, toiletries, childhood toys, electricals ect amounting to around 100 bags and I have not missed one thing! I also did a digital clear out, finally deleting Facebook! I still enjoy shopping, but only buy what I love or need. Being a minimalist isn't about going without, it's about appreciating and truly loving what you have! 😁😘

Same thing with us. I had two major spine surgeries in 2015 and had to learn how to walk again. After that, we went vegan, sold the house and everything in it, and moved to Ecuador. Going minimalist including diet has changed everything for the better 👍😁💚

minimalism helped us move from a region to another only with a 20m3 van, instead of a huge truck. and once home i kept on decluttering, adjusting to my our needs (i live in home now and previously in a flat).it's an ongoing process. i truly believe things are not to be kept forever; we just share a period of our life with them before they enter someonelse's life.

This is the BEST video on minimalism I have seen! This is SO inspirational from minimizing your 'getting ready for the day' routine, to self-growth! You are living the life you want to live. Such a simple concept yet so difficult to do, but you are doing it! Thank you so much! I just subscribed to your channel.

I've never really been a shopaholic or have had much extra money to be able to spend on things I don't need, but because of this, I've always had a hard time of letting things go, thinking I'll need them at some point or "just in case" that now it's all just piled up. I literally still own things that I got nearly 10 years ago and have closets I don't open and shelves full of bins of things that I don't use either. I'm doing my first planned move in May (I moved 3 times in the past 4 years without much notice), and I'm really looking forward to taking the next few months to actually declutter and analyze what I do and don't need in order to make my move easier. Seeing an apartment full of things and clutter fills me with anxiety, but each bag I donate is so freeing, and I can't wait until I can look around and just feel at peace and happy with everything I own. Thank you for all of your tips and lovely videos. You're always an inspiration.

What intrigues me is how many younger adults don't save for emergencies or retirement. Being minimalists for so many years I savour the fact that there is money in savings and investments, so that when bad economic periods occur (which historically they do in cycles) I have the means to afford the standard of living I want and need.

Rosemary Bruce that’s true. But I think he means not saving as a result of bad choices and being financially illiterate. Not circumstances that are out of your control.

@@rosemarybruce6290 Bull shit. Yes you can. You just choose not to or put yourself in a location or situaton that isn't matutre or not well thought out.

WAKE ME UP INSIDE there are a lot of people who live pay cheque to pay cheque simply because in order to buy food+rent+essential utilities+any other basics, they have to use all of their pay. Yes, some people definitely have the ability to save and yet don’t. i don’t disagree with you about that. but there’s still a lot of people who are unable to because of circumstances of of their control. seeing as you love saving, it costs $0 to not be rude :)
@FISHGOMOO4321
@FISHGOMOO4321 5 жыл бұрын
@@rosemarybruce6290 Only in extreme circumstances. If you're a carer for a loved one, you have a disability or you are single parent, then yes, you are exempt from what I said. The fact of the matter is, they are in the minority. The majority of young adults and many middle aged adults today are not financially literate nor do they want to be. If you have a job and you're unable to save after Rent, Bills & Food, then you are doing it wrong. You are living beyond your means. Change your location, change your job, buy cheaper food etc. If you want to live the life you're currently living, but then you cannot afford to actually live it, then you need to change.

Thanks for sharing your awesome journey! I started working towards minimalism a few years ago as family, career, and emotions all started going awry. Minimalism really made sense to get control back in my life and now the biggest impact it has had is that I feel like I do everything with intentionality. I don’t buy or waste thoughtlessly and I love it!

Hey Maddie! I love your channel..It helped me so much in my minimalism journey! And this video made me really think about my life too, and how being a minimalist has changed almost every part of me. I've started living the minimalism lifestyle in the past year, around June, and even in a short amount of time I can say that I'm a completely different person. Once I had more time for me, I started practicing meditation, taking care of my body, eating healthier, being more patient, getting to know people, apreciating the little things in life. I'm giving more love to the people, by getting closer to them, giving my time for them. I don't take everything so serious anymore, I'm more grateful and able to do the things that I really love! So, I recommend minimalism to anyone who wants to live a more happier and meaningful life! Thank you Maddie!!.. You're such an inspiration for me! Xoxo..

Conscious spending - very thought provoking! I haven't bought new clothes in a long time - have far too many that I don't wear already! The occasional handbag here and there is my weakness, but I sell one when I want to buy another! We really don't need to be swept up in the whole consumerism thing! The other thing I never do (for the environment) is use electricity unnecessarily eg. clothes dryers!

Great video Maddie, really enjoyed watching it. It's been a year since I embraced a more minimalistic lifestyle: I started with the many many clothes in my wardrobe, never worn but lovely to look at! On to the cupboards, plus the freezer fridge etc etc etc - it was never ending! Now I find my living space to be so much more 'hygge' and clutter free, which allows me to relax and concentrate on what makes me happy (reading, cooking, sleeping, running...). I stopped eating meat last May (spurred on by a remark you and Alex made about the gorgeousness of the fruit and veg market in comparison with the rancid smell of the meat in Thailand. Not quite vegan yet but I'm getting there - I can't bring myself to watch the many netflix movies about the meat industry just yet as I will find it very upsetting. Anyway - fab job x

Stuff and Nonsense Awww this is incredible news to hear! I’m so happy you quit meat! Try giving forks over knives or cowspiracy a go - they aren’t gory or graphic, forks over knives talks about the health side of veganism and cowspiracy discusses the environmental impact of animal products!

Stuff and Nonsense just a little tip, the adjective version of "hygge" is "hyggelig" I think😊
