not being wasteful is a good point! some minimalists seem to leave this behind but i think minimalism means that you learn a (more) responsible way of consumerism.

Yes minimalism for me is so much about consumerism!

I love your minimalism series, it's not repetitive to me :) I like the konmari method to fold clothes!

I joined you and culled my drawers while the video played :) I got rid of 36 items! ⅓ of my drawers are now empty. Culling with another person helps me be more ruthless I think :) love it!

KONMARI IS LIFE!!! Seriously, to anyone watching this video now (just like me xD) I have used this method for the last six month-ish, maybe, and it's absolutely life changing. Even if you don't want to be minimalist, I recomment it highly because you will basically discover you have waaaay more space than you thought - although the full KonMari method is a minimalistic inspired one and tells you to get rid of everything that does not bring you joy.

Oh the piano/guitar music is so lovely! Im on a weightloss journey as well. I gave myself a deadline that i will get rid of it Feb 1 if it doesnt fit yet. But my "on hold" clothes have to fit into this basket i have. I hope it works. I find minimalism helps my health journey greatly.

This may be a bit tmi or whatever but since it's linked with minimalism you might want to look into menstrual cups as opposed to the outer quite wasteful disposable sanitary products.

Yes! It’s isn’t tmi at all. Not only coz it’s a normal involuntary bodily function of the female body but because there were no gory details in ur post at all. Anyways, menstrual cups are the way to go. Once women get over the HUGE learning curve, which I’ll admit can discourage some, it’s nothing but positives. Less money, less mental and physical clutter, less waste, FAR more convenience not only for traveling because instead of boxes of period products u only need one. But also convenience for each cycle because they only need to be changed so infrequently and one cup can last for years!! The positives heavily outweigh the benefits and I genuinely believe every woman should try it.

Loving the renewed minimalism series attention! The cat and Christmas music is warming my heart... So great! I only fold my socks and underthings. I prefer to hang all of my clothes, and have minimized my clothing to the point where it all fits perfectly in a standard closet. The rest of my things? Different story. I think I'll do a minimalism video today. It sort of scares me, but time to jump in, right?

HI Madeleine, I love all of these videos in your Minimalism Series. They are relaxing to watch, and they've been super helpful to me as I begin on my own minimalism journey. I've just begun, and I've already decided to donate a majority of my clothing. As a result, I will have to do some shopping since I'm down to so few things (most of my clothes don't fit anymore since I've lost so much weight within the past year). That leads me to my question; where do you get your t-shirts from? The one you have on in this video looks soft and comfortable, and I would love to get myself one if possible. Here's hoping that you'll reply to a comment on such an old video. :)

As I have seen from other people and with my own experience sometimes in your drawers you need to anchor your clothing with say a small box or basket. So maybe in those drawers where things are wobbling around a bit, but a basket with your scarves or other accessories to anchor the clothing in place.

Haha :D I had to stop the video to comment... Just because your cat on the bed attacked its own tail :) I started laughing... but now I am going to watch the rest of the video. It has helped me a lot. I was holding on to a lot of stuff, but last christmas and the last days, I have decluttered my life a lot. Thanks for that you share your life with us :-)

I love KonMari folding! So satisfying! I even did it to my tea towels! A side note for Asia - if you find yourself in Bangkok or Chang Mai, you should look up May Kaidee vegan cooking classes. I did one and it was so much fun and so much delicious food, definitely worth the money!

The drawers look so good with everything folded that way! I think I'm going to try it out also. You mentioned that you are in the process of losing weight, I would love to hear more about that, if you are open to doing a video on it. I'm also trying to lose weight so I'm always interested in hearing about how others are doing it.

I fold my things in half length wise and than do konmari in half and into three as I can do that without putting garments down which is quicker and still looks good in drawers

Hey Madeleine! Yes, we do love these videos :) After reading the comments I just felt the need to point out that a few weeks of folding the konmari style and it'll become second nature, like any habit it just takes a little time, but not so long that it'll be a nuisance. Another point is those silky pants that you love or any nice fabric can be easily turned into a head scarf or hair band :), it may need like a line of stiches and you're done!
@MadeleineOlivia8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I already feel as if I have gotten the hang of it and really believe it will become second nature to me. It really isn't any harder than the way I folded before. Thanks for all of the tips!
