Thank you for sharing this video. I am slowly shedding my wardrobe by marking what I wear each day. After 30 days I can see what I don’t wear and can rid my closet of these things. Seeing yours helps me see you really don’t need much to dress confidently for any occasion. I will be wearing something in my closet for an upcoming wedding. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I love the idea of tracking what you wear-it’s such a practical way to figure out what you actually need and use! That is absolutely amazing that you are planning to wear something you already own for the wedding-what a beautiful way to embrace intentional living and make the most of what you have. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤

My husband was helping me find a dress for a wedding, and he told me my color pallet is warm spring 😅. He is right!! I look best in whites and light colors. I'm so thankful he found this out. I have always just wore black as a minimalist. I threw out all my pants when I met him and when he introduced me to Jesus. Isn't It so freeing embracing feminity??❤ I absolutely love your wardrobe by the way! So inspirational, I decided a couple weeks ago I'm going to start making my own skirts since it's hard finding exactly what I want in the material I want.
@messy2mastery12 күн бұрын
Wow, I love that your husband helped you discover your colour palette! Warm spring colours are so beautiful and cheerful! How incredible that your journey to Jesus has also led to such meaningful changes in your life, including embracing femininity. It is so freeing when we choose to lean into the way God convicts us ❤ Aaaand making your own skirts is an AWESOME IDEA! I started in the spring for the exact reason as you-So it can be in the exact fit with the exact material I want!

I’m a born again Christian who wears pants. Why do you feel pants are forbidden?
@ERICA85011 күн бұрын
@elenajopp5128 no one ever said pants are forbidden
@messy2mastery11 күн бұрын
@@elenajopp5128 I don’t think the Bible "forbids" wearing pants anywhere. I personally chose to wear dresses and skirts to embrace the femininity and modesty I feel God is calling me to. It’s a personal conviction rather than a commandment, and God leads each of us differently in these areas. It’s important to remember that modesty and obedience to God are matters of the heart, not just the clothes we wear. If someone feels convicted to make changes, that’s wonderful, and it doesn’t mean the same conviction applies to everyone. What’s most important is seeking God’s guidance and following where He leads you personally ❤

I’d suggest doing a little more research into the warm spring color palette, because “white and light colors” is definitely not warm spring. Warm spring is warm, bright colors. White is not in the spring spectrum at all, as it is not warm. We do best in cream or warm whites.
@그레이스-b2f10 күн бұрын
I love the color analysis approach. I got one done recently as well from a Christian colorist. I’ve learned that God actually made us all specially different like beautiful art pieces instead of factory made replica. My color was warm spring, which has made my closet so much better and I have less pieces than before. Thank you for sharing your closet. It was so fun to see deep winter beauty which God created. :)

I have the same coloring and I’m also petite so it’s easy to relate to your video! I admire the simplicity of your wardrobe. The challenge for me would be staying warm, I really need a lot more layers. And I wear so many different hats I need clothes for different activities, though I am still trying to streamline. Your video is inspiring and gives me something to move towards. I don’t think I would ever go that minimal, but it’s a good point of reference. I also love a-line skirts and have made a few (not full circle but more like a quarter circle, just enough flare without adding a lot of volume). I still have some pants for winter and yard work, but after a period of figuring out what shoes look good with skirts, I now find skirts more comfortable and becoming than pants.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I totally hear you about needing to stay warm-We are in Canada, where winters can hit -40°C, and I absolutely cannot stand being cold! 🙈 I'm so glad that you found inspiration to streamline! What matters the most is that you go to your own pace and that you make intentional decisions based on the current season you are in ❤

I would love to do something like this. I have a lot of clothes in many of which I do not wear or rarely ware. And I dig through my clothes to find what I’m looking for. So I may consider simplifying similar to this.

I absolutely love hearing this! That’s exactly how I felt! I had so many clothes and I started realizing that I would always reach for my favourite pieces. @messy2mastery I live in Finland and we have a saying: there is not bad weather, only bad clothes (to that weather). I walk outside every day. I have outdoor trousers and different outdoor jackets for different temperatures and weathers. On Christmas I stay at my rural cottage at the countryside. We don't have a indoor toilet there, only outside composting toilet. We spend time outside, skiing and some other outdoor activities. One year my son and his friend build a sauna from snow. And they also tried it. 😂 It was adventure!

I'm in the UK. You'd be suprise how a good pair or waterproof trousers (the ones you put over clothes) can be fantastic. Ugly, but amazing, and fold up tiny. Thick winter leggings exist in the UK with fur and such. Is that what she refers too?

@@extrememinimalistparent I have 2 waterproof trousers, 1 with warm insulation and other thin without insulation. I wear those trousers over my other indoor trousers. I have variable leggings with different materials: cotton, wool, silk-wool and mixed material. It depends on the weather what I use. Sometimes I have many layers trousers like today when there is snow and cold weather and we are at our cottage. We are planning to try our kick sledge 🛷 😂❄️ and go to visit our neighbors

What about undergarments and socks and shoes and coats and bags and accessories? Seperate video?

Great question-I didn’t include coats and undergarments because I didn’t think they would add much value. That being said, you are the second person to mention it, so maybe I should have! For reference, I have: 2 bras; 5 underwear; 2 pairs of no-show socks for my summer barefoot shoes; 2 pairs of ankle socks because I don't like long socks haha; 1 pair of long socks for skating; and 3 coats. As for shoes, handbags, and accessories, you can find those mentioned at 11:38 in the video. Thank you for the feedback!

Coming from someone who wore jeans and tank tops as my uniform in the spring, fall, and winter, I completely understand feeling uneasy about transitioning to dresses. What helped me shift my mindset was thinking about our hot and humid Canadian summers here, where I always opted for dresses instead of shorts. I realized that same comfort and ease could translate to our winters with the right layers and fabrics. Now, I truly love embracing dresses year-round! It can be different for everyone's journey though. If you feel convicted that God wants you to dress with modesty and femininity in your pants, there is absolutely no wrong in that! ❤ There are many great barefoot shoes options! The only barefoot shoes I've checked out so far are Vivobarefoot and Origo, which I love, so they are the only one I can for sure endorse and tell you how awesome they are. I've heard great comments are Xero but I haven't purchased yet. I personally like to wait for Black Friday sales (typically the best sales I've seen so far!) or different sales throughout the year!
