Thank you for sharing that you don’t have to go out and buy a ton of expensive bins and dividers to be minimalist! Sometimes I feel like when I want to declutter or organize I have to end up spending more money to organize whatever I decide to keep. Love all of the cardboard boxes and diaper boxes. We have a ton of those too.😂 I also really liked your tip that if there is an item that is making you feel bad or stressing you out you give yourself permission to let it go. My and my husband‘s bedroom has also become my favorite room in the house. Years ago at a marriage conference, they told us that our bedroom should be the most relaxing and enjoyable room in the house instead of being a place to accumulate clutter and stress. That encouraged me to rethink our bedroom and to make sure it is a relaxing space. 😊 I am also a stay at home homeschooling mama, so it is nice to have a place to retreat to since the rest of the house is my workspace now.

I sooo relate to that - I also felt like I needed to get all matching and beautiful baskets and bins, and make everything look Instagrammable. I have no gifts when it comes to home decor haha And I LOVE reading that your bedroom is also your favourite. We've found that there is something that makes us peaceful when our bedroom is peaceful too ❤

We are truly entering this season! Absolutely love this video… In a world where most people are very materialistic, attached to things and chasing aesthetic, it’s sooo refreshing to see a SIMPLE and clean way of living which truly embodies peace. My husband and I agree that LESS is MORE, and we want to live in a way that if we ever needed to get up and GO, we could do soo easily without having to break attachments to anything because we practice daily not being attached to anything… Home is simply where your family is, as long as we are together that’s all that matters. I love that for your family, you and your husband are blessed.

I noticed you mentioned a toy rotation and I’m curious about what that looks like for your family. Toys seem to accumulate in our house but so many never get played with!

I am a clutter bug but I liked this system. I declutter slowly, I find it less stressful and give me time to think about my needs, I curtailed my buying habits as well, I shop less and keep impulse buys to a minimum that way. I mostly buy food , pet food, soap and toilet paper. I cook at home from scratch, it is much better for our health and waistline.

Really interesting and inspiring! Thank you for sharing! What's your approach to children wanting toys and birthdays and Christmas (in terms of toys coming in)? Also do you have a TV? TIA! 🙏💕 X
@messy2masteryАй бұрын
I think that's part of being children, and our girls are no different 🙈 We talk a lot about how Christmas is not about receiving gifts but about Jesus' birth celebration, and how we want to be a blessing for others. We also have a system that when they receive toys from friends and family, they can keep it if it fits in the rotation box. If it doesn't, something has to go! There is so much I could be sharing about this so maybe I can do a video! And you are correct - We do not have a TV. We've found that we prefer hanging out together than watching something! Those are great questions - Thank you for asking ❤
@debbiesedgley100Ай бұрын
@@messy2mastery thank you. My situation is a bit different in that I'm not Christian and we have one child. You mentioned toy rotation. Do you have more toys in storage and how do rotate your toys? The toys you had still seem very minimal for 3 children. So I imagine you must do alternative activities? What kind of activities do they do? Do you have a garden? Sorry - more questions! It just intrigues me! Thanks again and enjoyed this minimalism content 😊
@messy2masteryАй бұрын
@@debbiesedgley100 We have one diaper box of toys for rotation. To do a toy rotation, we switch out the toys every few weeks. It is absolutely AMAZING! If you'd like to hear more in depth, we also talk about that in our online parenting course - messy2mastery.thinkific.com Yes, the toys we have are very minimal! We've found the girls preferring being outside or doing simple activities like reading, colouring, crafts, etc. We had a garden on our balcony but no backyard space. Absolutely - These are all great questions!

Do you not use any activity center/jumper/walker etc for baby ? What do you do for outdoors for kids? I see you only have bikes. I’m surprised you didn’t mention any sentimental or memorabilia stuff you have. My parents didn’t hold on to stuff the only thing they kept were very few pictures (like 20) from our childhood and that’s it (no videos).
@messy2mastery26 күн бұрын
I did not use any of those things for our girls when they were babies. A blanket on the floor worked great for us when they were doing tummy time, and I loved carrying them the rest of the time. As for walkers and jumpers, we had looked into that and we weren't convinced that the benefits outweighed the consequences but you do what works best for your family! For outdoors, we are doing a lot of playgrounds, walks in the forest, bicycle rides, scavenger hunts, splash pads during the summer, winter activities during the winter (skating, sliding, playing in snow, etc.) and tons more activities outside! The girls absolutely love exploring nature. Yes, we stored our bikes in our entrance closet because we didn't bother having a storage closet in the underground parking haha The girls each have a type of folder/bag in their cubbies for their sentimentales. As for pictures and videos, everything is digital. We have them in our phones (we have iCloud storage) and back them up in a hard drive as well. Those are some great questions, thank you for asking!
