Love it. When my children were a lot younger, too many toys and clutter always overwhelmed me. Love what you've done with their playroom and all the climbing things they have. 😊😊

I love this video. You make a great point about open ended play. Creativity is super important. Kids naturally do have imagination. Society deems toys are for one type of use. If a child plays with it in the "wrong" or a room is in a mess because everything is tipped over. They seems to be labeled as the wild child and seen in a negative way. The unfortunate thing is because it's playing in their minds and fun creativity gets squashed.

Very cute! We used to live in Japan and your room reminds me of the kid areas that were common there, complete with a plant. :) . Love your ideas, our books are getting out of control so I'll start the idea of only have a certain number of books in the room at one time. Thanks!

It makes a big difference! Otherwise I found they would just dump their books and not really read. But I think having a plethora of options with books is still important! So the book closet and swapping works great 🙂

Sadly none of my 3 can share a room. I have a almost 12 year old girl, 9 year old boy (on the spectrum, needs his space) and a 3 year old girl. But we do have a play room (it used to be our dining room that we just never used) that thanks to you, I have now gutted! We have 5 “noisy” toys I let the 3 year old keep and that’s the new rule. (this room was mostly hers but not anymore) the rest was donated. I have swapped out so many toys for fun wooden Montessori toys and she loves having the new toys. I have almost finished up her peg dolls (thank your sister for the inspiration) Thank you for your channel.

Beautiful space! The only thing I would do differently is let the kids have as many books as they want!

They have access to all the books, they just only have a select amount in their room that they can switch out at any time. As I mentioned, when they have a ton of books they don’t actually take the time to purposefully read them. They dump them and skim for a minute or two and move on. With minimal books they really purposefully “read” and look at them. My kids will spend 20+ minutes on an individual book now. They should have many options for books, but not access to all of them at once 🙂

Same. I completely get the concept of minimizing... & for your purpose & your kids it probably works well. Something about the restriction aspect just doesn’t sit well with me tho. At least it wouldn’t work for my kids.. They get far too much enjoyment shuffling through their entire library as they please throughout each day. It’s just how they spend most of their time. As much as I do like the idea of a nice & neat, simple book shelf with the rest hidden away, as oppose to our giant stash out in the open haha. That’s the one area we aren’t minimal in.

While you were talking about it being Aerie's space, there was Daisy taking over 😂😂 I love the space and I also limit my for year old son's books. I keep them on a shelf in the dining room but I only have about 5-10 out at a time and he can swap them out when he gets tired of them.

Our beds have been on the floor for 5 and half years and we have never had issues with mold.
@ariannapflederer5 жыл бұрын
I think it’s definitely less of an issue than people think! Every time I post about our floor beds I always get comments of people concerned about mold, so I just decided to address it this time 🤪
@bluesouthpaw63265 жыл бұрын
Yeah same here. I feel like if you have a gross dirty house than sure i can see an issue. But her house is immaculate and same with ours. Our kids love their floor beds.
