I really tried to like my Osprey Farpoint but ended up giving it to my daughter and I got the Eagle Creek 40l and I LOVE that backpack. Lighter, love that it unzips like a suitcase. It was more comfortable on my back. Weight is most important so I tend to pack clothes that are light weight. Last trip was 3 weeks through Greece and it weighed 14lbs so I was able to get on and off all the hopper planes with ease.

Is that the global companion or tour travel 40l? I’m unsure which one to get
@marjan60084 жыл бұрын
when I travel for longer dan 4 weeks I always bring old cloths that I can replace while I travel. It's a great way to replace your wardrobe along the way and get souvenirs at the sam time. And by wearing older cloths is making a lesser target for pickpockets etc

Every grocery store I know of, including Walmart has laundry soap bars. I grate mine and dissolve in warm water to make detergent. Felps and Zote are the most common brands.

Have fun in Portugal👏🏼 I know you talked about your self care items when you were in Nicaragua but seeing as you will be backpacking around Europe and Asia (for Turkey and Lebanon), it would be nice to see how you prepare and unprepare from a day of sightseeing. That's correct! With Ryanair you have to pay a fee for both check AND carry-on luggage.

Just curious as to why you chose the Osprey Farpoint vs the Fairview? Both are nearly identical packs but the Fairview (supposedly) is designed more towards women.

Love the content. First video Ive stumbled on and like it . Would you recommend this backpack for a digital nomad (guy) thats a minimalist dresser? Only thing for me is I have a MacBook Pro (Need to sell it to get an Air), Sony a6000 (Small mirrorless camera), and a Canon 5D II (For professional work). Pretty much rest of my backpack is just basic shirts, pants, socks, undergarments. Im trying to stay as a minimal as possible . Done 3 weeks in London doing a few more along with Scotland Ireland. Then shall embark to Main +Western Europe. With the cold Late October November and inevitable winter coming, do you recommend I get a bigger backpack or would the far point 40 be enough?

Did you actually only wear 1 pair of leggings and 1 pair of jeans for 6 months? Did you not need to wear anything else? Did you go to the theater or have a nice dinner where you'd need to wear something more dressier?
@andreareneabroad2434 жыл бұрын
Yup! I had to buy new jeans eventually, but the leggings lasted the whole time. I bought new clothes here and there, but everything had to be able to fit in the backpack.

Hi Tonylee! I ADORE my Osprey 40L, and yes, it does fit a 15" laptop. When I had to fly to England for my uncle's death in Feb, I had to bring my laptop with (online student) and it fit beautifully. Only design flaw is the space for the laptop isn't along & against the back, but towards the outside (9:35 in the video), but still very secured in. Made packing a little more complicated. Still a fab pack!

How did you decide on Farpoint instead of Fairview built specifically for women?
@andreareneabroad2435 жыл бұрын
Great question! Honestly, I did not see any differences between the two packs that would be significant to my body type.The Farpoint has been a good pack so far, but if anything I think I would like to go down to a 30 liter frameless pack. I highly recommend trying on both packs in person before making a purchase!
@corinnelee49635 жыл бұрын
@@andreareneabroad243 thanks for your response. Yes! It would be SO much easier if I could see, hold and try on packs in person! I live in Muscat, Oman and unfortunately, do not have an opportunity to do so. That is why I rely heavily on doing lots of online research so I really appreciate your feedback and sharing. I was searching for a 30 L pack and thought I had found it in the Osprey Ozone (I think that's the one) only to find it has been discontinued----or at least it doesn't seem to be available. So back to thinking about the Fairview. Wondering if it might be a bit more pack than I need size-wise and with all the bells and whistles (I'm sure its quite comfortable)......waffling though---indecision is killing me. I'd like to find the most comfortable, most simple pack that's about 30L. What is that!? Thanks again!
@andreareneabroad2435 жыл бұрын
@@corinnelee4963 They had Decathlon in Morocco, do they have anything similar in Oman? Your REI/LL Bean type of store? Even if you can't try on the Osprey itself, it might be nice to try one a pack that is the same number of liters, just to be able to see if you truly need that much room. If they do have Decathlon, Quechua is a pretty good sub-brand of that company-- my 10 liter day pack is from them. amzn.to/2CfxeFu

You can fit a larger amount of litre's into carry on luggage ... i have got a case and a bag that both fit well within the size requirements and they have a 57 litre capacity and i have seen a couple of cases that are 62L , you are not minimalist as you are taking a massive amount of non clothing items and just a tiny amount of clothing!! I take it from the video you were in the Peace corps LOL!! you mentioned it 12 times!!

@@andreareneabroad243 I was simply correcting you, people rely on the info you give them and in this instance it was not correct. If you had not said it was minimalist and said that you travel lighter clothes wise but prefer to have certain things with you in place of a lot of clothing and it was literally a dozen times you mentioned the peace corps and we know that. The sarcastic comment in the thread about it went over your head. I am not being rude or unkind it is simply the truth, i also don't like being attacked for being honest. How can people learn new things if they don't listen or take on board what people tell them??
