Thank you for your kind comment. 😊 Stick around for a lot of decluttering coming within the next couple months. As things come in during the holiday season I just itch to purge everything.

Regarding your questionable item, remember the golden motto "if it's not an absolute yes, it is a no." 😀

Oh yes!! I need to frame that quote and hang it in my closet. 😂😂

You look so good in your jeans! The knotted shirt and jeans are a great look on you. I got rid of all my polyester as well. I've not counted my wardrobe but everything I own fits in a chest of drawers and that makes me happy!
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I love those things so much. Hands down the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve ever owned. 😅 Thats amazing that you’ve minimized to just a drawer. I’m finding so much peace in having less to manage.

Love the pieces you chose and your color palette! I can definitely relate to not always wearing everything you planned to for that season but Im also trying to do the hanger method with my tops and really be intentional and pay attention to what im wearing daily and not be too swayed by fantasy self items I wouldn't wear when majority of my days are casual.
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
Thank you!! The hanger method has been a game changer for me. Every Summer I have to refrain from the fantasy items. I just imagine myself in cottage garden in a long flowy dress that is 100% not realistic for my actual lifestyle haha.😅

As a Door Dash Driver, I look for comfort and practicality. I'm getting into and out of my car all evening...and walking a lot. Since I'm not built for hot weather (at all), I try to keep things as cool-ish as possible. So, lots of leggings in the winter and lots of shorts in the summer. It's almost like a uniform. Some pieces can be dressed up, many can't. What you did with your summer wardrobe is inspiring. Time for me to look into 333. Thanks for that! On a more technical level, you have a really good feel for the best music to help tell the story of the video. Today's music was soothing and pleasantly repetitious. It went perfectly with the endless round and round and round that we frequently do during certain chores. It also gave hints of Mr. Rogers' Neighbourhood vibes. Brilliant choice. Seriously, you are a natural. Keep it up. 💖

I feel like what’s on your legs is 100% the most important thing to be comfortable in and it can easily be dressed up. My favorite thing is when I feel cute in an outfit that involves leggings. 🤣 I love that it had Mr. Rogers’ vibes. 😅 Your encouragement and positive guidance is so appreciated. 🥲💕

I'd perhaps wonder briefly if the striped pants were pajamas but not pirate. Drawstrings are tricky - they can help so much with fit but sometimes they seem too casual. It's really down to how you style them.
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
Yes! I totally agree with you. They’re comfy and cute, but I do feel like they’d have a more realistic life as a pair of pajama pants. I actually wore them to bed a couple nights ago. 😅

Great video 😊 you look so cute in those shorts. As for the pants… I think they’re cute, but if “swashbuckling” ever entered into my mind regarding a clothing item, it would be a no for me 😂

Haha I just put a couple of polyester shirts in the donation bag and I've decluttered many, many others over the past few years. That's mainly because I gained a lot of weight between thyroid issues and perimenopause but still, I'm not buying any more items in that fabric if I ever shop for anything again. Jack Sparrow wore dark brown pants and boots up to his knees so nobody will make that judgment.
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
I’m with you. It’s a terrible fabric. 😅 I’ve parted with all of our polyester sheets and also won’t be purchasing any polyester clothing in the future. I was waiting for someone to get technical with Jack Sparrows actual wardrobe. 😅😂

I haven’t done 333…I’m not minimalist about my clothes, but I enjoy watching stuff about it.🤷🏻♀️. Even though I have a lot of clothes I do rotate through them so I wear everything over the course of a year. I go through all of my clothes at least once a yr, sometimes twice. I get rid of anything that is stained, needs repair, etc. I have also always been prone to suddenly and for no apparent reason realizing that I am over a piece. My weight stays mostly the same so it’s not because they don’t fit…..I’m just over them. 😅. Except for my collection of graphic tees, my wardrobe is fairly neutral and simple/classic. I funk them up with jewelry and shoes and sometimes scarves. Some of my clothes I’ve literally had for years. I’m very careful in laundering them. All clothes are washed in cold water, gentle cycle and rarely use the dryer. Even inexpensive clothes will last if they’re cared for properly. I classify my personal style as classic and slightly boho. It really hasn’t changed in years. I have to admit I am curious about the 333 method but haven’t reached a decision as to whether or not I will try it. I’m older, retired and really don’t struggle much with deciding what to wear on any given day, so this method isn’t something I desperately need. But it does interest me for some reason.

I found the topic interesting for a long time as well before I actually dove in. It sounds like you do really have your wardrobe and style figured out and under control though! 😊 I'm a little jealous 😂 and your style sounds so fun!! I'm so with you on caring for inexpensive clothes. I felt recently that I had to purchase expensive "high quality" clothes to have them last longer.. but I'm realizing that really only goes so far and the better I care for something the more life I'll end up getting out of it. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience with me. 💕

Questionable item #1 - those pants are really cute (no pirate vibes), but would you feel better if you dyed them a more solid colour so the stripes weren't as visual?
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
I thought about that, but I’m just not really happy with the fit anymore. They shrunk and just don’t fit like they did when I first got them. 😭 They are lovely as pajamas though. 😅
@katie3700 Жыл бұрын
Love these - I know you had a shorten length of time for your spring capsule, but did you find that you wore all those pieces? Or what didn't you wear? I'm really trying to watch mine and see just what I really gravitate toward (I'm a SHAM/homeschooling mom) and many days, I probably use just my lounge clothes over anything so I would like to try to actually wear "nicer" clothes even if it's just the same 4 outfits or so 😂
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
I did end up wearing everything except one striped button up. I was very surprised honestly. I hear you on wanting to wear something comfortable but still wanting to feel like a human. I find myself “dressing up” leggings during the cooler weather. But I did recently get a couple pairs of “mom jeans” that are primarily cotton and after they get broken in (about an hour after a wash) they may as well be pjs because they’re so soft and comfortable.

I loved those for a long while. But, I think they ended up in the dryer by accident one too many times and they just stopped feeling right once they shrunk a couple inches. 😅

Great video. I think you have lovely long lines so the pants might be reading too short for you. Just a thought

I agree! I didn’t think of that actually, but I do I remember remember loving them much more before they took an accidental trip through the dryer. 😅

You've got no raincoat or anything for when it gets cooler in September, and no jewellery either. I don't know where you live though, so maybe those aren't issues where you are, and I know not everyone wears jewellery.

Thankfully late Summers are pretty mild where we are. I’m usually fine in just a cardigan, but I’ll happily pull out a coat early if I need to. 😅 If this upcoming Fall ends up being anything like our Summer was, I’ll end up in my Fall wardrobe a few weeks early haha! Jewelry isn’t really my thing. I have a couple special necklaces tucked away for formal occasions, but for day to day, I only wear my wedding ring and a pair of earrings I don’t take off, so those things I don’t count. Thank you for watching. 😊
