@@sedme0 I mean.. kind of? But also no. The guitar hero tracks are fairly compressed, for one, so the audio quality isn't great. (They had to fit a ton of songs onto one 4.7GB DVD after all, and a lot of that is for graphics) Secondly, not every instrument is separated in the guitar hero files. They're fairly basic "drums, guitar, vocals" tracks. You can do some things with those, but not nearly as much as you could with the 16 tracks or more that originally made up the song.
@samprice1302
@samprice1302 2 жыл бұрын
@@sedme0 @Galacticboy2009 You're both wrong, the xbox 360 versions had to fit within a Dual layer DVD which is 8.5gb not 4.7GB. And yes, while the PS3 versions were on bluray, they're still the exact same game and didn't have less compressed audio (except maybe Guitar Hero World Tour strangely, but Rock Band and GH3 are bigger on 360 so make of that what you will) . You can verify this yourself by comparing the size of PS3 isos to 360 isos.

Thanks for creating this man. I'm a huge Queen fan, and bought this the first day it came out. Even back then as a little fella, I was extremely disappointed because it was clear the developer had created a world that had nothing to do with Queen. You weren't helping them, you weren't meeting them, it was a big let down. The fact is felt like an experiment more than a game within minutes was the nail in the coffin. But it did allow us to have this awesome video 24 years later! Thanks.

14:14 One historical correction: Use of Redbook audio was extremely common, going all the way back to some of the earliest CD-ROM games like on the PC Engine/TG-16. Some CD-ROM games were identical to their disk/cart-based version except for using Redbook audio, like much of the SegaCD library. If anything, The eYe would have been a bit behind the times in continuing to use it, since better audio compression was viable by the time it came out. (Although it did still offer superior quality.)

Sounds like the plot is kinda inspired by the story I Have No Might And I Just Scream, which itself had an unforgiving adventure game. That's because the original author Harlan Ellison was a grouchy boomer who DESPISED gamers and gaming so he told the devs to make it as obtuse as possible, which tbh really ties into the story of an omnipotent evil AI god (voiced by Ellison) torturing the last humans on earth for eternity

We sold the magazines years ago but I remembered this game and how interesting the visuals were to me, but I couldn’t find it online because I remembered it being based on a heavy metal band, and had no memory of it being a Queen game. Wow, great to see this game covered! I finished the game back in the day but with heavy use of walkthroughs! The weirdest thing is that there was a demo on some pc mag compilation cd, and the demo was parts of the first awful level. They really didn't want to give of a good first impression, the rest of the game isn't that great but it sure beats the tedious janky combat-focused first level.

Reminds me of Omikron for some reason, maybe because it is music related but doesn't have much to do with the music that is related to and that early 3D is similar, though Omikron is real time. MGS4 did something similar, installing a new chapter and uninstalling when you were loading a new chapter because hard disk space was limited in the early days of the PS3, some models were released with 20GB of HDD only.

As a kid I had the book, but it tooks years to get my hands on the game itself. When I finally did it was a nightmare to get it running. It wouldn't install on a modern OS, but it was too heavy for emulation. My joy when a new system at last made it possible to play the game was short-lived. That first level is tough as nails!
