Verium is actually a really cool project and deserves a look! I have been mining it for over a year on a raspberry pi 3 and a few other CPUs. You were not allowed to join that pool because the pools want to share the hash to keep one from concentrating all the power! Decentralization!

The pool is not gamed, it goes up because someone is turning their work computers to mine after work. There is a reason that Verium is the default on the miner! It is many years old, ASIC resistant, decentralized, trustworthy, and innovative!

I got myself a Pi 4 4GB a few weeks ago and I have been playing with it a lot. It is a cool little device to learn from and test things with I am using it right now testing out the new beta 64-bit raspbain test. As far as crypto goes I think there is a guy on youtube who got this think to mine XMR. It has 4 cores on it I think he got a few hundred hashes. Not something to quit your day job over but was really cool to think about. I know you can cluster pies together and you can add a hat to allows PoE. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to make a cluster of 24 on a PoE switch. Lol it would be interesting to know the numbers that could be generated from something like that.

its still correct 1 cpu - 1 vote... but ALU/CPU are different by performance... cpu is easy accessibly, easy to code - but less efficient, cpu is slow because of overhead on top with programming languages/microcode and as result its consume a lot of power.

The peaks and fall offs on varium shows a user with a decent amount of hashpower running their miners only when the sun is up likely tied to a solar system. I mine with the sun myself and my charts look exactly like what you saw. Just FYI.

I am into Rpi's because can cluster them and there is an array of ram sizes you don't need to get the recent 8Gb Ram for your mining cluster because there is 1Gb, 2Gb, 4Gb and 8Gb as well as some others that are customised for various purposes not to mention the smaller ones super cheap only $8-10. And these things are fast with usb3x2 and usb2x2 onboard as well as wifi and cat5/6 cable connections. the cpu can now be overclocked up to 2Ghz from 1.5. So cluster 5-10 of those and what does it add up to??? Its a lot of speed. A large clump of processing power bundled into that cluster.

On a odroid XU4 sbc it can mine Verium at 500H/s for about 10 watts. The price is about 50$ on certain sites. And as it is CPU mining, i try to mine with GPU too on the same device.

kH/s? I think that's at least 10,000,000x (7 orders of magnitude) Even GH/s in a pool often get rounded to zero payout. It would take 10,000,000 of these Pi rigs to get GH/s speeds - which most likely will mine too little in a pool for a payout. These little things are great for a hobby or to learn the ropes, but it would be very difficult to find a pool and get any payout with this device. However, it ends up costing less than $50/year including electricity. which is a very affordable hobby. Once learn the ropes, maybe invest in a rig that can bring in a little coin. It's become difficult - even with rigs that are 10 billion times more powerful than this one. GPU and CPU miners are overshadowed by ASICs now.

Hey there! New subscriber, I’m a pretty experienced trader and have been flirting with crypto’s off and on. I throw a bit here and there on etherum and bitcoin in my portfolio and has done well. After watching your videos it has made me want to jump into this world and get serious and more technical with it. I have a few concerns though..... one being I keep reading this whole thing about “not your keys not you crypto”. Seems like a lot of these app you support or promote have this uncertainty about it. Can someone explain why they personally over look this risk of actually never getting these coins in your “wallet” after staking them or mining? And secondly I was looking in to start mining and for the most part the math isn’t justifying the point to mine. How can you make a profit as someone who wants to just have a one unit farm or very small one. I watched the video on can you make money with mining bitcoin and it seems not and from what I’ve read it’s the same with most of the larger market cap coins? Maybe I’m overlooking a few details.

I new too and I think that is sort of the point he is making that there is no significant profit to be made mining right now unless you got in early or have free or super cheap electricity and capitalized infrastructure and scaled. I was lucky and found some good deals on used equipment and so far it has been allot of fun and very informative. Maybe things will turn around and mining will be lucrative again but for now I'm making about $15 a week on a rig. I'll have it paid of in a few months, but I'm not going to get rich or make a living either.
