Tracie, I live in Broomfield and would love to visit this year if possible. I’ve been thinking about Mount Antero and miss it up there! I would love to meet you! ❤️🙏🏻

I’m not sure of the rules now. I unfortunately haven’t been up there in a few years.

💎Do you have to pay someone with a claim or work for them or can you go to certain spots without a claim?

Guys i want to ask how did u know that there was an aquamarine in this mountain?
@ninjatoCO5 ай бұрын
@@Makarov232 there are mining claims in certain areas along the mountain. Two families are quite prominent in that area and you should be careful to not trespass on claims if you visit.

These look very, very small compared to the overwhelming amount and size coming from South America. Chinese own many mines in Brazil and such. I think currently China invests heavily and offers reach to very high quality Beryls.

Yes I have purchased a few stones that originated from Brazil from the Colorado Gem and Mineral show (huge). I have a friend from Brazil who mines for all sorts of gems and sells them for a living. However, their color and clarity doesn’t compare to the stones I’ve mined from Mount Antero. Also yes the ones I have found are small (at least on film). They hit a $30,000 pocket while I was there and those specimens were stunning. Go follow Mount Antero Treasures for more finds up there.

Seems like if you used a gold pan with some water to look through the material it would be easier.

At 14,000ft in altitude there’s not much water on top of that mountain until it rains…hard to get up there at all let alone get water up there. Sometimes we take spray bottles but the large pieces are quite easy to spot without any water. People do pan at the lower claims though!

Isn't Mount Antero part of the Nation Forest and not a private mountain?
@ninjatoCO10 ай бұрын
There is a hike/trail that borders the claim. You can look up active claims online to avoid conflict when hiking. Some claims will have posted signs as well. Some people respect this, others don’t. 🤷🏼♀️

Is that a public spot
@ninjatoCO Жыл бұрын
No, most of the claims on Mount Antero are active and owned. This one is owned by the Cardwells who have an awesome jewelry store in town!
