Stand folds down so it can give some airflow through the vents. Also you tested it with vents closed when detecting those high temperatures. But I agree with you that stand should be integrated. Because having this kind of problems on that kind of device is ridiculous.

could you try writing on the tablet with the stylus? every review finishes the pen input test after doing a quick doodle, or in your case pixel art. I want to see how accurate the pen really is and if palm rejection works.

If Minisforum also makes something like Apple's Magic Keyboard (for the iPad Pro) as an affordable, optional add-on down the road, that could make this so much better as a laptop replacement. I won't hold my breath as it would likely cover the ventilation in the back, but there's also no reason they couldn't add ventilation holes on the part that attaches to the V3. As a tablet, this thing is 10/10 for sure. My only complaints are the keyboard and stand situation. The keyboard is pretty close to the Microsoft Type Cover for the Surface Pro but not quite as nice. And we all know the stand could be better (even when used properly 😜). Overall though, actually pretty surprising how good this is for the company's first Surface-like attempt. I'm certain the V3 V.2 will be amazing, with a terrible and confusing name 😂

Video-in is a killer feature that all tablets should have these days. You could use this as a portable Switch monitor, as well as being your main computer. I really want to support it, but can’t justify that high cost right now. Hopefully there will be 9th gen Ryder updated tablet in a couple of years. Finally, I think this is so much more practical than a dedicated handheld like the Ally or legion Go. Those are worthless for using windows or doing anything productive when you aren’t gaming

I have also same lenovo tablet - I love it. Also this tables looks great, but dunno how long the battery will hold, also 90celsius is thermal throttling so I would suggest to use setting bellow 54 watts. Until it will get close to 90 celsius before throtling. But dam looks good, I would maybe buy it but 14 inch screen isnt much, also going beyond 1920x1080p screen - you will regret it, as windows makes your icons and fonts so small - you will need glasses. Downsizing pixels is bad move...

really curious about sound. I only use gaming laptops and sometimes when playing games they sound like jet engines, to get around this I can usually turn down some settings or upscale using FSR, and can play games like Dota silently (or like 1700rpm which is practically silent). But with this tablet I'm really curious, surely it sounds like a rocket when running almost any load no matter how light

Interesting machine, could almost be an upgrade to my aging ThinkPad X1 Tablet 3rd gen. Unfortunately it falls behind on resolution, and the aspect ratio is not ideal for a tablet. 3:2 or 4:3 is kind of a sweet spot. I realize, though, this thing is more for gaming, and as you pointed out, resolution is not so much of a thing for that. I regular use my ancient ThinkPad for CAD, occasionally with an eGPU, and I don't want to go below 6 megapixels anymore. Also the hinge on the Minisforum does not look sturdy. On the ThinkPad it has survived already six years without any functional impairment.

I wouldn't put them in the same category. This runs windows, that runs android. This plays PC games... that one does not. The snapdragon 8 is extremely fast, but it's not fast for 3D gaming. Basically, you can't play BG3 on the samsung... and you can't use Windows programs... I think the S9 weighs a little less (only a little)... and it has a better camera. I honestly don't understand having more than a webcam on a tablet, but I guess people want it?

If this winders tablet is actually 500 nits, it's brighter than the s9. I bought one thinking it was 750 nits. That ended up being max peak brightness you'll never see. The ACTUAL brightness is 420 nits. It's not as bright as my original tab s 10.5 even. If you're indoors and live like a vampire, you probably think it's bright. But trying to use it as my main radio, it's just not bright enough, especially in a convertible. Extremely disappointing. But then compare the games. Final fantasy 9 says it isn't compatible with my tab s9. But is the s23 ultra, both snapdragon 8 gen 2. But on my 2-1 Asus with an OLED screen at 500 actual nits, I can play metal gear 2: solid snake, ff7 modded to widescreen, the PC version of blood omen. Well look at that, street fighter 6 just works too. What are you playing natively on android? Call of duty Mobile, genshin impact that's been out for years? All that power for NOTHING beyond emulation. Retroarch that's missing features the winders version has? Plus the tab s9 USB c out adds a slight amount of lag, that winders won't. The tab s9 is nice to browse the web with. But if I didn't pay 300$ on marketplace, id have returned it. For anything else? 2/1 all day. tl;Dr? Screw Google. Buy a winders tablet and know your stuff is just going to work.

Also better kind of keyboard that can hold the screen up. I play games in bed. @4:50 Is it an 'IPS' or actually an IPS, because that's not really a good thing anymore; as IPS have frankly terribly narrow contrast ratios that cause milky blacks in any but the brightest rooms. You can tell if it's an 'IPS' or an actual IPS by the manufacturers declared contrast ratios. If its around 1000:1, it's an actual IPS, if it's well well beyond that like +3000:1 it's a VA. They are both truecolour panel displays with vastly better viewing angels than TN, so thats why they get muddled up.

I use a QD Oled Tv as a monitor (samsung s90c gen 2 ) and its on 24/7 and there is no burn-in whatsever and i treat it like any other monitor. Plenty of tests have been done, and its nearly impossible to burn in anything nowadays. Its the objective truth that OLED´s are WAY better than IPS panels. This isnt even a matter of opinion.

Have a look at some of the other reviews out there...... Battery life is mentioned. The range seems to be circa 6'ish hours in lightweight, browse, play a video etc activity, push it to the 28W and as good as it lets you game, maximum brightness, play for about 2 hours. The 65W charger that comes with it seems to keep abreast of the burn rate which according to NoteBookCheck maxes out at about 61W. A more useful bit of info is unlike a lot of machines running at full tilt it DOESN'T thermally throttle at max burn. One item that is a bit concerning but possibly can be addressed with a BIOS update is that the idle rate is silly high at about 11W when we should see it nearer to 5W - 6.5W
