Looks great, Winnebago has always used a higher grade of fibreglass than most which makes it able to come back to its initial sheen. The skylight fairing had probably become brittle from UV damage which made it hard to remove w/o it cracking, Just spent 3 days redoing the vinly trim, cleaning and recaulking the roof on my trailer, my old legs don't like being up on the ladder for that long anymore, lol.

I just dont understand RVers driving their "houses" around the country. You do realize the cost vs. driving a small SUV and staying in mid-priced hotels and eating at restaurants (and hotel free meals) with minimal cooking (only at hotels with full kitchens) works out almost EXACTLY the same? A couple guys did the comparison side by side...same trip following each other for over 7,000 miles all over the country and the TOTAL difference after 6 month trip was less than $300?

@@jaysantos536 That's interesting, but one doesn't always have to pay for hookups, etc with free camping and dumping in National Parks. Plus, the beauty of being in a natural setting vs a motel. For me that's not even close. Of course as gas and maintenance costs sky rocket who knows if the hospitality industry will even survive? This is why having a permanent place to park is crucial.

@@dreamingrightnow1174 I've seen a lot of the "scenery" around RV campgrounds and dude it's NOT pretty and many time not natural at all. They are typically located in crappy areas on the edge of small towns and many times are not very well kept. And a LOT of the people that live in RVs in these parks are not good neighbors and you have no idea who you are parking next to. Fugitives, criminals, illegals and all sorts of folks that would never try to stay at a hotel because of ID or credit card issues.

Your average person gets RV repair like this all the time, but with a quarter million subs you’d think they would have paid a little more attention to detail to Robert’s job. You should look into a cover like your neighbor has, it would add decades to your trailer life and cool things down a lot too.

Hi Robert! Thanks for sharing your experience with Minitini! I definitely understand the stress for being in that situation. About 7 years ago, I noticed a soft spot on the front corner of my parent’s trailer that I had to take a look into. One day we had a heavy rain and it was leaking into the closet. So later I replaced entire front portion and could reuse the vinyl. Can’t wait to see the original (vintage) Minitini on the road again! All those memories will continue to be remembered. Well done on the Pelicamp. It’s coming along. Can’t wait to see more of it. Thanks again and see you on the road. 😊🤟🏻

@@jaysantos536 Hi Jay. There are thousands of reason why people prefer to RV rather than staying in hotels. I can/would like to share my reasons of owning an RV. I like to travel with my trailer in tow knowing I have my own things that I can take on the road. Most importantly is my own bed, kitchen packed with food and drinks (with a refrigerator), a place to eat and relax, and my own bathroom. When we go on a long road trip, we like to drive as far as we can as we see things around us on the road, we like to pull off and stay overnight at a Cracker Barrel’s RV parking, Walmart, truck stop, well-lit rest stops, etc which is free and call it a day before reaching to our final destination (which saves us a lot of time to go to a hotel, check in, unpack things for the night, re-pack, check out, double checking making sure we don’t leave anything behind (which it happened before) and continue down the road). In the RV, we wake up, get ready for the day, eat breakfast or order somewhere local, and hop in the truck and continue down the road to our destination. We like to go to campsites at a KOA, national parks, BLM, etc and spend time at the nature as much as we can. When we settle at the campsite, we like explore the area, hike, go to museums, spend time outside the trailer, do some outdoor activities, go out to eat, etc. We are aware the pro and cons about RV-Ing vs hotels and the cost effectives. Though my trailer weights half the towing capacity my truck can tow so it’s pretty light on my end. I hope this helps.

@@DeafRVTraveler Fair enough I am happy you enjoy it! But as far as "Most importantly is my own bed, kitchen packed with food and drinks (with a refrigerator), a place to eat and relax, and my own bathroom." That is ALL available at most hotels I stay in (TownePlace Suites and Residence Inn) and everything is always fresh and clean. And I bet "Check-in check-out" takes a lot less time (maybe 15 minutes total) than hooking/flushing/unhooking your trailer. It is just obvious that RV is a LOT more work and effort for what I can see is not really much benefit at all. And "we" can see a ot more places in our Grand Cherokee a lot easier and a lot more comfortable than hauling a small house around. Each to his own though. Happy Motoring!

Robert, You have Dexter Torflex axels that cannot be aligned like spring suspension axels. Dexter has had a problem with these and has had to replace many under warranty. I have a 2019 Lance and am soon to replace my third axel. They have a 10 year warranty. There is an easy way to check them by putting a long straight edge along both wheels at the center of the hun and checking the distance to the rims at four points. Google the problem and you will find some good videos on how to do this. There is an online warranty claim process that is easy to use and the company usually responds within a week. When the axels get replaced you can have the lift kits installed. It's an easy process. Good luck

Our RV roof got pin holes all over .. I guess you need to cote with some kind of sealer. Apparently it has something to do with acid rain in the North East. Florida climate of course is extra tough on everything... so yea, maintainance never ends. That being said... in winter it sure beats Minnesota. 😉 Thanks for the Pelicamp tour... it must feel great to have a 'remote' campground of your very own. You deserve it. Bottom Line: Don't stress too much... as long as you can enjoy a peaceful campfire with a few friends.. and a cold IPA... Life is good. 🤗 PS: Maybe a little screen house to ward off the no-see-ems wouldnt be a bad idea? It seems the fawna of the area is quite a bit different from the Palm Beach/Miami area.

@@TravelingRobert Thanks for letting me know. I love my RV Armor roof. Seems like they had to do a lot more work to restore Minitini's roof than on my rig, considering that they found rot in the wood of the roof. Sounds like they had to strip off the original roofing and do some carpentry before applying the new roof material directly to the deck. My rig was 26 years old and had its original EPDM "rubber" roof when RV Armor showed up. I knew it was beyond worn out and probably had some places that were leaking, but our climate is dry and I arranged for covered storage when I purchased it, so water intrusion on my watch was very minimal. My RV Armor job was done in my front yard with the rig on the street. One of their traveling techs did the work. I was very impressed with how thorough he was. He didn't find any rot in the roof, and left the EPDM in place, in spite of cracks and splits and over-coated it with their product suite. My tech found a crack in the outside lens of my shower skylight and sealed it with their product. He offered to replace the outside lens of the skylight, but wasn't sure we could find one locally while he was on site, so using the RV Armor product to seal the skylight seemed reasonable and was no extra cost. I suspect that the hole for your skylight is a standard sized cut. I suspect that a new trim piece will be easy to find. Cutting it to fit the depth of the roof will require some skill and good measuring. My experience with RV Armor is that their installers will make things good if you are not happy with it. RV Armor is a small company and the management seems like they are directly involved in the day-to-day, so I'd be surprised if they wouldn't make it right for you.

Jeeze, what'd they do, send some middle schoolers from shop class over there to do the work? That's some rookie maneuvers. You're more forgiving than I'd be..

@@auroranite Oh OK. Sorry but I prefer nice, clean sheets on the bed every night, a FULL bathroom with shower, plenty of fresh towels, and most of all the ability to drive ANYWHERE I want and park ANYWHERE I want. Also, the privacy and security everythime I go to sleep and never having loud neighbors within 10 feet or stuck in a crappy trailer park. OR having to hook up and dispose of my toilet water every day and night and charge a generator all the time and.....and...and. having a flat tire on my house or having mechanical issues with my house on the road. It just looks like a SUPER pain in the ass 90% of the time. you have fun though! LOL

@@auroranite And that whole Quartzite MESS. OMG what a tremendous clusterf#ck that thing is.........Lines for miles to empty your crap........Lines for miles to shop at Wal-Mart. Lines for miles.....to go anywhere in the middle of nowhere. But the trip that bar 20 miles into the hills ws great right? EVERY freaking person there is a youtuber walking aaround with their giant cameras. OH MY FREAKING GAWD...that was hilarious....and stupid.

Do you realize everyone has different situations so they make choices best for themselves? For instance...pets etc. Furthermore hotels still have a checkin and out time policy and other restrictions. To each their own. ✌

I'm sitting here getting upset for you. This is unacceptable work, in my opinion. You are being really way too nice. I give you credit. If I were you, I wouldn't have a link to their repair service/garage. Yes, you should have been there but that doesn't excuse poor workmanship. You being there wouldn't have changed the hitch situation or some of the other things. Truly, my stomach is in a knot for you.
