I don't think the defense is that impressive they can't really stop anybody Murphy is terrible they ate him up yesterday you look like a rookie and the other defensive backs and safeties are terrible if you look at their degrading their some of the worst bottom 10% in the league so how does that bode well for a great defense is defense isn't even close the stopping anybody let alone really good teams

We need to stop saying we KNOW Darnold is the guy. We don't. 1 year doesn't make up for a series of bad ones. If Darnold wants to come back for a year on a 30 mil deal sure. This is McCarthy's team though. We don't know if McCarthy is the guy but we also don't know if Darnold can replicate this either. Difference is one is a 40 mil unknown while the other is 5. Whatever KoC and Kwesi decide I'll be ok with.

I wonder if JJ will get a say when Kwesi A-M makes a decision regarding Sam Darnold. I am sure that JJ would be cool with Darnold returning...unless the Bengals decided to trade Joe Burrow to the Vikes for McCarthy...lol As I said yesterday, the Vikes would be nuts if they didn't tag Darnold, because the Vikes should 'profit' from taking a chance on Darnold & reviving his career, e.g. via a trade for an impact player or a 1st round draft pick. IMHO, tag Darnold twice....once to keep him for next year as they assess McCarthy & see if Darnold can repeat his impressive 2024 season...then tag him a second time with the intention of either working out a long-term deal with Darnold & trading McCarthy for a 1st rounder, or trading Darnold & starting McCarthy. SKOL!

I like your idea but ideally you can get him under a team friendly 3 year deal that you can trade or back out of. Team friendly would be up to Darnold to agree to if he wants a good team around him.

Yes, that should be the goal, however...if a deal cannot be worked-out...then what I have suggested (..and the justification for it..) needs to happen without hesitation. :) IMHO, there is absolutely no reason for Darnold to not be wearing Vikings purple next year!
