Hey Tim, I have the same camera and also bought it from a thrift store for about the same amount. Just like you I thought it was a 2.8 and believe it was because night shots that I took where acceptable to say at least. Only caveat is it is slow to start up sometimes and can't be a quick draw unlike the Olympus Stylus (not the Epic) . It is also the camera I have shots rolls most. Oh hell no!!! I just mean when or if I find one out thrifting...they are way over priced thats for sure. I saw one dude selling for $250 which blows my mind.
