That scene in the elevator when Colin Farrell confronts Tom Cruise about drugs and the alarm goes off right after he says I don't hear a red ball or whatever....Farrell's subtle acting in that moment is SOOOOOO GOOD!

@WillyML4 9 жыл бұрын
+MarI sabel Oh, that's what you meant. Yeah, I know that three people born at the same time isn't twins; it's triplets. I thought you might have been referencing something else. However, I still don't think the three pre-cogs are biologically related, as I don't recall the movie ever making that reference. Only that they came from the same place that was trying to treat them for their nightmares, and those three just happen to survive what was done to them to create the pre-crime program.

Agatha then told the Andertons that he grew up to be a olympic runner.(this next part was confusing). She then says that he saw his dad(john anderton/tom cruise) in the stands, and that he wanted to run to him. But he couldnt, because he was 6 and too slow. Which i interpret that when he was kidnapped he tried to run back to him but couldnt. Dont know for sure tho

How do you get John to go kill Crow? In principle there was no reason to go to that department. I mean, just giving photos of John's son to this guy Crow is not enough to go to him. Doesn't sound consistent to me. Let's see, once the premonition is seen it is coherent, because maybe John wanted to find out why he would kill someone. But I mean before, the premonition has no reason to exist. In the end, the premonition ends up being the CAUSE of the murder, when it should be REVERSE.

Just watched it. This is easily one of my favorite action movies I've ever seen. The action scenes are relentlessly paced, as well as being both well-choreographed and filmed. The characters were all really interesting and fleshed out. The story was really complex and clever. The film was dripping with creativity and the writers convey this world flawlessly. There isn't copious amounts of exposition like the Last Airbender, nor do we get barebones information and in turn have no idea what the hell is going on like Warcraft. I'll definitely be watching this one again.

I was kind of hoping he'd do Munich. I feel like Munich is one of the best Spielberg films (post Jurassic Park) but it doesn't get much attention. Minority Report is a solid choice though. I liked the bleached negative effect, but the scene where they end up in the car manufacturing plant, the film gets a blurred effect, similar to the one used towards the end of the D-Day battle in SPR that I always wondered about. In SPR it made sense because these people were at the end of their ropes, stressed beyond human limits having just faced death head on. In Minority Report, it was just an action sequence...

A fantastic anime makishima is one of the best villains In Anime ever. He's intelligent, cunning,and skilled all the traits that make a villain great.to add on he has a look that's menacing but can draw you into following him.its just a beautifully written anime
@Rainefaelyn
@Rainefaelyn 9 жыл бұрын
+Jacob Bechtel Agreed and what I also found fascinating was that underneath all of that, there was something quite pitiful about Makishima. Which was beautifully showcased within the characters motives. His drive; While quite brilliant. Was also pathetic. But not in the traditional sense. I thought he made quite a good mirror for Akane Tsunemori and a great foil to Shinya Kogami. I couldn't help but appreciate the universe of Psycho Pass. Akin to Orwell's 1984. In that it's focus goes deeper than skin deep and shows something that could be taken as a cautionary tale. The ugly cost of wanting a cosmetically beautiful, peaceful society. Which; no matter how successfully it functions. It is in essence, artificial and flawed. Even grotesque. I loved the way this is highlighted with the artistic themes and imagery. At least that's from my perspective. It is (as you said it best) "just a beautifully written anime"

The most confusing part when you try to analyze it is how were the pre-cogs able predict that Anderson was going to kill Crow. It very plausible who Anderson's boss was able to get rid of Agatha's mother, it makes total sense to erase her Minatory Report as if it was déjà-vu. At the same time the killer of her mother had to kill her in a very similar way the original person who was paid to kill her that was prevented by the Precrime team. If Lamar failed to kill her in the similar fashion he could have been implicated in the murder himself. But it least that part is still plausible but the main question again is how can precogs predict Anderson will kill Crow if Anderton didn't even know Crow. The only reason Anderton went to that apartment was because he saw the information how to find Crow from precogs' prediction. So it's a question of chicken and egg. What came first? How can they predict he was going to do it if it was not premeditated? You're really doing down the Rabbit hole with this question and maybe the only logical explanation people can answer it it's just the movie logic.
@MovieTimeWithMT
@MovieTimeWithMT 3 жыл бұрын
@@sergeikhripun I think the precogs predicted Anderton killing Crow based on Crow eventually contacting John about having kidnapped his kid. But when John contacted the old man from that car the old man probably called Crow and said he already knows where you are dont call him.
@sergeikhripun
@sergeikhripun 3 жыл бұрын
@@MovieTimeWithMT Anderton didn't know that that the set up for him to kill Crow on the basis he was a child molester/abductor who was responsible for his son's death. He only learned about that when he walked into Crow's apartment to see the pictures of kids lying all over the bed which Dany Witworth called an orgy of evidence. What if Anderton didn't want to go through that at all. If he wanted to prove his innocence, he could just lay low for a few days when the precogs predicted he was supposed to kill Crow. If he didn't kill Crow then that would obviously show that Precrime doesn't work and he was innocent. The only thing that makes sense is that Lamar could have falsified the precogs' visions which would have been extremely difficult as well because the pictures from previsions happened pretty much exactly what happened in the Crow's apartment. Also, the movie implies that those visions from precogs were genuine. So we are back to squire one.

While I share all your love for this movie, I have to say that the CGI of the city has aged quite a bit and parts of the big action sequence felt a bit cheesy to me. The sonic shotgun is cool, but then they fight on a factory conveyer while almost being crushed by the machines and in the end Tom Cruise gets build right into a car? Maybe in 2002 that was innovative, but it felt a bit cliche to me.

I grew up with this movie and I’ve seen it a million times. One of my favorite movies ever. My only real complaint with it is the way Lemar accidentally outs himself. “I’ll have to see if anyone drowned a woman by the name of... what was it again?” “Anne Lively, but I never said she was drowned.” I just feel that the trope is overused, but at least John Anderton already legitimately knew it was him and had proof, so it works out, and not just for convenience sake. Agatha is one of my favorite characters from anything ever, and she has one of the best monologues in the movie: “There was so much love in this house.” Looking back, she’s probably the reason I have a thing for girls with buzzed heads... Regardless, outstanding movie, and it’s crazy how perfectly it still holds up 16 years later.

The prophetic nature of this film (no pun intended) when it comes to future tech is mindblowing. I wish you mentioned the spider sequence because it's one of Spielberg's best suspense set pieces of the last twenty years. I also wish you mentioned the hotel two shot. THAT two shot. Amazing.

I love how futuristic this film is. The cinematography is beautiful. The film makes you question certain things about present and future. I agree that the discussion is very intellectual. Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell are amazing here. There's alot of character depth and meaning. The storyplot is so unique and profound. Great movie, very watchable. Tom's broken character is quite shocking and compelling. The action is awesome!:) It's very thrilling. I love how dramatic this movie is yet it's not sappy and still incredible because of the action. It is sadly underrated, but still awesome.

I'm glad you gave it an A. Minority Report is by far one of my favirote movies of all time. I have seen it dozens of times and I also saw it in the theatre's when I was 12 or so. I actually love the ending when it's revealed that Lamar is evil and Kills Collin Ferril. I love that scene. inspired me to write for a living.

There is a huge plot hole in this movie. Stop and put yourself into the mind of the antagonist, the guy in charge of pre crime. How exactly did he frame Tom Cruise? Well, he hired a desperate man to hide in some random hotel room with a bunch of pictures with kids, that's it! How did he know Tom was going to find him??? Now I know what you're thinking "Uh, this movie is about predicting the future, and he found out all this information from the precogs". I guess that technically works, but if you really think about it, you've created a paradox in logic. He found out this information about his future self stumbling upon this man, but again, he found out about the man from the precogs, who predicted Tom finding the man, whom Tom found out from the precogs, who predicted Tom finding the man ...and on ...and on ...and on ...my head hurts. See? The whole story line is a paradox in logic. There is information that appeared from nothingness.

Amazing movie. It completely blew my mind the first time i watched it. Minority is in my top 20 movies of all time! also, the whole scene at the hotel, where cruise has to hold his breath in ice cold water, the way the whole thing was shot, with all those bird's eye views was awesome and it was great :)

Minority Report is one of my all-time favorite movies and ignited my love of sci-fi (and dystopian societies). I remember getting the VHS when I was 11 and replaying it over and over, anxiously waiting for it to rewind in the VCR rewinder. As the years went by, I saw parallels to the real world, even some were pointed out by my grandma, who knew I loved this movie so much: driverless cars, gestures to control phones/computers, flexible screens, personalized ads, voice-controlled devices, and smart homes. It's a future that fills you with wonder and fear at the same time.

Answer me this, if Anderton had a chance not to go to the hotel when he was in the garden, why not end the movie there and not go to the hotel? He could just stay in the garden and prove himself innocent, but the movie keeps going any because he's just an idiot like that. Just one of the million plot holes that left me so dissatisfied, even if Spielberg did direct it.

After watching those, wait till you get a load of movieplotholes.com/minority-report.html and alexpeak.com/art/films/mr/plothole/ Honestly though, once you've seen a movie a bunch of times over, everyone eventually finds these plotholes at some point, not that I hate this movie 100%. Personally it's more like a 6/10 after finding these plotholes, but maybe a 8/10 before the plotholes scrummaged up after repeat viewings. Glad some people liked it though. :)

The twist about "without seeing that spesific future it was impossible for it to become reality" was done better than in any time-travel movies that come to mind easily. Most time travel after all is about trying to change events in future or past, and then realizing in trying that your efforts were critical ingredients in manufacturing the ill-desired effects. Like killing Terminator was actually needed in creating Skynet.

My problem with it has always been that it never really expanded upon the opening 30 minutes like Blade Runner does. It becomes satisfied with being little more than a dumb chase movie. The ending wraps everything up to neatly. It needed to show us a dark dystopian future but Spielberg being Spielberg has to give us a happy ending. I like films that ask complex questions rather than ones that give us simplistic answers.
