I feel like this Xbalanque is the pyro dragon theory is just some regurgitated info in the genshin community now. If anything, to me it seems way more likely that Xbalanque is the Pyro Archon. And this goes back to the archon intros: Venti was introduced by Zhongli, Zhongli by Raiden, Raiden by Nahida. Nahida however wasn’t introduced by Furina, she was introduced by Neuvillette. And now we have Neuvillette’s introduction by someone clearly from Natlan while Furina was introduced by Nicole from the Hexenzirkel. If we speculate that Neuvillette might gets his gnosis back based on the end of the archon quest part 4 (this might have been Furina’s plan all along tbh). Then the pattern would stand again. And Xbalanque is the Pyro Archon.

My theory is that after Furina ascended, she was cursed by Celestia by saving/caring for the reincarnation of the hydro dragon sovereign (Neuvillette) during the cataclysm 500 years ago. Furina hid part of herself and the gnosis inside the oratrice, this also explains why Neuvillette cares deeply for her.

I want to point something that some may miss in this quest. Many believe that Neuvillette simply tolerates Furina, but this quest showed that we actually care about her and respect her decisions. As such Neuvillette did not put pressure on Furina to find out the reason for her unease, despite the fact that, given his abilities, he knew for sure about the assassination attempt. At the same time, Furina herself did not tell anyone about this incident, despite such strong patrons and knowledge of who tried to kill her.

People wondering how wrio didn't got dissolved in the cut scene, as at least a drop would fall on him, the reason behind is fairly simple, the primordial water is heavily diluted by the sea water, even wrio mentions this few minutes before we get the cut scene, that the concentration of primordial water in sea water is increased, though minutely. Idk how MINUTE the concentration is, but it's enough to not dissolve him as we already know primordial water at very very low concentration, can be used as a drug, as we've gone through a drink called SINTHE is just that.

I like the idea of the Hydro archon being split between Furina, the body, and Focalors, as the mind who resides (or is?) the oratrice. That theory does explain Furina's confidence in declaring herself as the Hydro archon--in her experience, she is the Hydro archon. But it would also explain why Furina seems so powerless and in the dark; she does quite liteally lack her true mind. And it would further illuminate Arlecchino's doubt. I hope the next Archon quest leads to some kind of reunion of Furina and Focalors again, restoring the true Hydro archon though retaining both distinct personalities (Furina is adorable).

The only confirmed Dragon sovereigns so far are the Dragon Sovereign of Hydro, Neuvilette and Dragon Sovereign of Dendro, Apep. Durin is werid because he was created by alchemy so he technically isn't an elemental dragon and probably has a completely different physiology.

My theory for child’s case and why he was found guilty is that because he’s connected to that whale we ended up seeing at the end of act 4 and the whale appeared to be in the primordial sea, the oratrice deduced that since he has that sort of connection to the primordial sea water, which dissolved those girls in the serial disappearances case, he was found guilty by affiliation

So the missing vision image in Furina's card is balanced with Neuvillette having one. They might just be messing around. Lyney, Lynette and Freminet have had two different cards issued. The first had the usual Fontaine background circle and the second had the harbinger wheel background. Therefore they may be going to issue another card for Furina and Neuvillette too.

Here is my theory: The whale from the Abyss has the gnosis. The previous Hydro Archon was killed by the Abyss. Then, the Abyssal Whale gets teased a lot in the storyline. I think the Abyssal Whale has a connection to the previous Hydro Archon after her passing, and still has the gnosis. Furina was sent from Celestia to become the new Hydro Archon, but never received the Gnosis, because it was in possession by the Abyssal Whale. Edit: Yes I know this didn’t age well.

I think when Arlecchino's statement that there seems to be a curse on Furina might mean that the she may not be the Archon but some being playing the role of Archon or even playing Focalors. I find it a bit strange she stresses herself as Focalors very often that it almost seems like she is consolidating her own role as Focalors. I am inclined in believing Focalors is within the Oratrice whilst her vessel Furina is a separate entity.

I also thought of Furina split either in 2 or 3. Furina herself, the oratrice if 2 parts, or something else that’s pushing the primordial sea and the prophecy if 3. The oratrice prob has the gnosis and it’s prob where most of furina’s authority is hidden. The embodiment of justice and the ability to judge the citizens. Everyone’s emotions and energy gathers there. And it’s proximity to the fountain of Lucille (were all of fontaine’s waters converge) are a hit suspicious. The 3 thrones are also near this location as well. Looking forward to the next part of the story to complete the mystery.

Yet Another Satisfying Minsleif theory video. Here's my thoughts: I think that the gnosis is either in neuvilette's pocket 24/7, either that or maybe the gnosis is what powering the cardinale. That seems most likely the case but I have another bizarre and goofy ahh idea: The hydro traveler holds the hydro gnosis. Hear me out, I got this idea from one statement traveler made after resonating with the hydro statue or rather when the traveler arrived in fontaine. He/she mentioned, correct me if I'm wrong: a weird surge of water or something about water. My memory ain't the best but from remembering that I could put up a theory that maybe in that moment, in some form or way the gnosis was transferred to the traveler. The fact that traveler isn't able to dissolve could also add a bit of proof of him/her coming out to be the "Temporary Hydro Archon". Aside from that I noticed a small little detail in neuvilette's story quest, when we went to checkup on the melusine that was threaten, we were assigned with her safety and during our walk the melusine mentioned that she was more or less around 400 years old, paimon replied by denying that she isn't that old or rather nowhere near that age, I hope that if needed this information may help your future theories. My thory is that the "abysal whale" we se in Childe's dream is actually the origional hydro dragon, and might also be who Neuvillette is talking to at the end of his cutscene, which makes me wonder what the conneection between the abys and the primordial sea is. Given that Childe is on this whole quest to understand his past in the abys and it's leading him down to the bottom of the primordial sea, I can't imagine the two aren't at least somewhat connected.

@Minsleif One of my absurd Theories : Spoiler alert for general public : The hydro archon ( FOCALOR ) is inside the oratrice and furina is Just a stunt double ( one who looks like focalors but isn't the real one ) . FOCALOR is trapped in oratrice and we don't know, However furina is acting as hydro archon, and FOCALOR in oratrice is " using those powers to possibly charge up the gnosis. Here on i have 2 paths for story' to proceed 1) hydro archon - will use indemnitium ( i may have spelled it wrong) to make entire fonataine float, how did I come to this theory? Because of new area - fonataine research institute - remember why it became sight seeing scene - because of indemnitium i assume. 2) hydro archon and abyssal Whale - possibly have some connection to each other . Childe wasn't deemed guilty just because a) oratrice made wrong decision b) his affection with abyssal powers ( whale) primodial sea water. The real reason Maybe - hydro archon knew that childe has. " It " and she knew that childe would be sent to fortress, and made sure he is deemed guilty hence the plan of hydro archon was successful - as such childe has already found the abyssal whale 🐳🐋. I believe this was all plan of hydro archons. Another speculation : focalor has left her " body " like how ei did, Only her consciousness is alive? I think Furina trapped herself in the Oratrice using the powers of the Gnosis or her own, people being judged will allow the Oratrice to receive powers and transform it into indamnetium. so both the "sinner" who have being judged to be guilty and the people who watch the trials will help in taking care of the primordial waters. the innocent give indamnetium while the guilty are sent down to the prison to work on keeping the primordial water in check. Furina might didn't get enough indamnetium energy to stop the primordial waters yet. Furina was begging for her life because if she died there all of her efforts will be gone and people would be in actual crisis because in that body she's too weak and vulnerable if she already have all her powers and consciousness inside the Oratrice

I am not sure how can hydro sovereign dragon stop the prophecy. It feels the prophecy is very very ancient, while Neuvillette is just new hydro sovereign dragon. Unless hydro sovereign dragon has something to do with the prophecy. But Neuvillette did say that he had connection with Primordial Seawater though, even though he doesn't remember what it is. It could be the clue.

At this point, I am pretty sure the 3 thrones of Fontaine are Furina, Neuvillette, and Wriothesley. Now that we know Wriothesley is the ruler of a sovereign state and Neuvillette is conformed to be the dragon sovereign, it makes sense that their would be 3 thrones for the 3 literal sovereigns of Fontaine; the thrones are also where their 3 domains intersect.

i have a feeling that Neuvillette will regain his powers from Furina given him what was taken from him. Once he gets all of his powers back he’ll become back to his full dragon power he’ll ascend to the highest position in Fontaine and will take over while Furina could be granted a vision and her two forms or personalities will merge from the oratrice and the white clothed Furina we see today. And maybe we will be able to switch between Pnuema and Osuia. That would be cool. But I think she’ll get the Scaramoche treatment honestly. Even if Neuvillette doesn’t become archon he can become Hydro Sovereign.

I really like the relationship Neuvillette and the hydro archon have (both previous and current) maybe Celestia is punishing Fontaine because they've been hiding Neuvillette as a political refugee. As the new archon Furina is incredibly more doubtful and insecure than her predecessor doing plans that aren't the right thing but still kinda work at the cost of her strength, she's done a lot for Fontaine's safety but because of that she's become vulnerable and weak.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Hydro Archon split herself into multiple entities and Furina is just one of them who had some previous function such as keeping the people happy and entertained, while the piece on the Oratrice has the job of passing judgement, another piece potentially is the original Hydro Archon who's job is to defend the people. However, she ended up dying in the cataclysm, hence Furina taking the archon spot and the prophecy coming into effect with no one (other than Neuvilette) to protect the people of Fontaine from the Primordial Sea. While it is stated that only Zhongli/Venti are the original archons of the 7, it seems that the rest of the archons are far more closely related to their predecessors than originally implied. Ei is the twin sister of Makoto and acted in her place during battles. Nahida is a reincarnation of Rukkhadevata. To me it makes sense that Furina is a part of Egeria. Although gods appear to be human and have their own personality, they tend to be extremely duty bound and unable to change from their intended nature. Furina who has a job of being a cheery entertainer has a hard time doing anything but putting on a show or enjoying herself. When she tries really hard she can think about how to rule the people and prevent the prophecy, but this is moreso connecting to her other parts than doing anything about it herself.

That line has been perplexing me too. Trying to break it down: A sentence is a punishment given by a judge to a criminal. The punishment in this situation is using the primordial waters to destroy Fontaine and its people. So some powerful force who has control of the primordial waters must be trying to destroy Fontaine as an act of punishment. We know from the first chapter of the Archon quest that the people of Fontaine are all born with "original sin". A sin is "an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law", and "original" implies that it is a sin inherited by all people who descended from the first sinners (like in the Bible). In The History of the Decline and Fall of Remuria vol 2, speaking of Remus, we learn that "Amongst the God King's sins, the most terrible was the attempt to pass power that should have been reserved for the godly domain to humans", and thus Remuria was flooded and destroyed. Speaking of Egeria in vol 3, "When the royal city collapsed, the great power shattered, and the people above the high water were perched on the precipice of barbarism and annihilation, it was our noble Queen who settled the conflicts between the tribes. Around the flowing springs we established cities new, and started a world guided by laws that has endured to this day." Egeria was the God of Justice because she knew that the only way to avoid destruction was to uphold the laws of Celestia. If Celestia is attempting to drown Fontaine once again now that Egeria is gone, this means that something about Furina's rulership is viewed as transgressive to Celestia in ways that Egeria was not. That is the heart of the mystery!

I’m pretty sure he was referring to a sentence as in “a punishment with a given length of time”, “the sentence” that is referenced is probably the people of fontaine being washed away. saying “this sentence is too severe for the people of fontaine” just means that being dissolved is too great of a punishment for the people of fontaine, I don’t think it has any deeper meaning, but we’ll see ^_^

something really cool i’ve noticed for 4.2: the final act is called ‘masquerade of the guilty’ and almost everyone in fontaine wears a ‘mask’ of sorts. Furina: pretends to be all knowing, and that she has everything planned out; is really a sort of scared kid Neuvillette: hides the fact he is the hydro sovereign Arlecchino: pretends to be pleasant and ‘friendly’; while according to other harbingers (childe and scaramouche) she’s a ‘wolf in sheeps clothing’ Lyney: puts up a brave front for his siblings and other kids in the house of the hearth (freminet talks abt this in his ‘about: lyney’ voice line) Lynette: pretends to be a robot/puppet to avoid socializing (shes not) Sigewinne: puts up a kind and innocent front, but is actually highly emotionally intelligent and even says she ‘likes the feeling of being trusted’ there are probably way more examples but these are the main ones I gathered; but in the end the title of act 5 is really accurate because everyone in fontaine is guilty of wearing a ‘mask’ that hides their real selves.

I personally think Furina and Focalors are probably the same person. They might be Oceanids. I think Focalors split herself into two. Furina was split to become the “figurehead” and Focalors was split off the original one to become the Oratrice. This might be why Furina claims to have created the Oratrice, since it's literally part of her inside it.

Furina does believe she is the archon, given that there are users of vision hydro implying that the current archon is recognized as such, and does not have any problems like Ei had. Now it wouldn't be strange for Furina to know something that we don't know given that it is Niuvellette himself who says that she created that system or machine to give verdicts, but now she doesn't seem to know how something very strange works. I would theorize that Furina knew what was going to happen not because she predicted it but because someone predicted what was going to happen and that it was something that could not be changed even if it brought her more problems, Mona's teacher. It wouldn't be strange if she could be divided into 3 personalities as she mentions, with the combination of the 2 being the archon as such, but she separated herself from that, hence why she acted so strange.

I’ve yet to finish the video but I have a theory for the next patch. I think furina is going to give up her archon status and give her powers to neuvi (at the very least temporarily) At the end of this quest he mentioned that he isn’t at his full power due to the sovereigns power being stolen by the gnosis/celestia and thus doesn’t have the ability to fully seal the primordial sea. And theres was also the point with the knave saying she doesn’t think furina is the archon. I think furina will show where she hid the gnosis and prove she’s the archon by giving up the role to save fountaine.

for my theory for where the Hydro Gnosis is and this is a wild one, what if the abyssal whale has the Gnosis which the former Hydro Archon might have died fighting it during the cataclysm since if we were to take in the fact that its going to be a boss in the next update it might be the whole reason why the primordial sea which Neuvillette stated that it once brought life and now destorys life and with the recent reveal that in order to control it u need the Gonsis which contains the Hydro authority to do so, plus the dam rift wolfs are hostile to everyone except inhabitants of the abyss, it could apply the same with the abyssal whale using the gnosis that has currupted the primordial sea, plus by the time we face it we would retrive the gnosis and thats when Furina will finally asscend to archon hoods and would finally end the prophecy by finishing or purifying the whale

Is it possible that the original Hydro Archon, Egeria, split herself into the two states of Pneuma and Ousia BEFORE she went to the desert as a sort of fail-safe/back up archon in case of her demise? Idk when the Fontainian researchers discoverd Arkium, but maybe the two energies of Arke are a result of that split and were later discovered? Anyways, when the other half of Egeria died, maybe that resulted in Furina losing her memories (or she had none to begin with after the split).

IF nahida broke the gnosis, of the electro archon, technically, wouldn't a electro dragon sovereign be created if it wasnt already there. And what if orobashi was one of the 7 dragon sovereigns? It's probably more like Furina is the hydro archon or at least she was but surrendered her gnosis to neuvillette for him to regain his full power and become a full-fledged dragon (also his ascension voiceline at lvl 90 says he reclaimed one of the seven authorities from the hands of userpers.) which means that technically speaking furina is the hydro archon or the last to become a hydro archon since there will be no more, and the authority to the element of hydro is now in the hands of neuvillete but he can't officially become an archon as he is already a Dragon Sovereign.

My own little theory has been that Furina is the Archon we just haven't met the real one yet. we're seeing a body double set up as an act, another layer of misdirection, that was set up to confuse anyone digging into her activities. that's why despite being a supposed god she was left unprotected for Arleccino to attack. that's why shes so ADAMANT in her argument with Arl that she IS doing something but she has no idea what. almost like shes getting offended on the behalf of someone else
