Honestly after watching the Archeon quest I feel Furina deserves like a thousand hugs and apologies. I mean it seems the traveller barely notices they basically lead insurrection against her and don’t seem to care. At least Neuvillette on screen seems abit guilty when he learns Furina wasn’t even aware what she was really doing.

@@lyg483 yup I agree. The irony of the other gods accepting her while her own people pretty much witch trialed her and afterwards you know forgot or just “left out” that part. Since Celestia are the ones that grants visions, However the vision that Furina has obtained was not from Celestia, but Neuvillette, meaning her vision is special, and Celestia has no control over her vision, zo it's true that Focalors really did deceive the heavenly principles, and Furina's freedom was truly given from her, Focalors is a beast.

According to Ei, it’s not by an Archons will that visions are given or denied but that the process is more complicated. According to Neuvillette, whomever has the authority over the element must impart some of their power in order to facilitate the creation of visions as this was ordained by the Heavenly Principles. When Neuvillette received his full power, it was within his right to stop the production of Hydro visions, but since he saw the potential of humanity, he did the same as other Archons and set aside some of his power to continue this process. “Neuvillette obeys no edict from the heavens, but he does acknowledge human will. So he too set aside parts of himself, as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them” If a human’s ambition reaches a certain level, the Hydro Dragon too, shall look upon them with favor.

I want to note something, we learned before in sumero a way to keep information that was deleted from the Irminsul was fairy tales. Deleting info from irminsul means that nobody will remember that but if you put that info in a fairy tale format it seem to escape being deleted. So "The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies" can be something that happened before or a prophecy that was deleted from irminsul in order to avoid the gaze from the Heavenly Principles.

The information about the wanderer wasn't retained. Only the plot of his life through the act of Nahida creating the fairy tell. Recall her reaction to being told what had happened. She had no clue it had happened. It was erased from her memory as well. However because through her wisdom she was able to predict that it may actually happen and then subsequently create the story. The story was there, imo to give herself a failsafe. She instantly recognized the very plot of the things that the wanderer experienced because it perfectly mirrored the book she herself wrote. She was able to confirm her own suspension even though she had her memory too had been erased. Fate was altered slightly and Celestia didn't observe this. If they had they would have likely heavily desired to keep this very knowledge a secret. Yet they failed to both prevent the action and the knowledge of the plot. Nahida playing 4d chess, bending the rules, and knowing the traveler wouldn't forget. All while Celestia was none the wiser. This begs the question, who wrote that book, who else would have had the foresight or wisdom to do such a thing?

I think this: the dragon sovereign authority is inside the archons:the divine throne. the gnosis apparently amplified the elemental powers and their elemental energy comes from the powers the third decender had. the vision story from neuvillette says he wants to share part of him with humans so he gives the visions now.

Remember when venessa ascended to Celestia and found that it looks like a penopticon prison? Maybe visions are indeed granted by sovereigns, and Celestia keeps an eye on these people and offers them to "ascend" just to imprison them in the realm of the heavenly principles. Because maybe visions holders are not allogenes of Celestia, but allogenes of the seven sovereigns, which is why maybe Celestia offers "ascension" to them to keep them imprisoned.

if you check neuvillette's character stories, the one titled ''vision'', it explains hes the one now that has decided to grant Hydro Visions, this could mean that Celestia rn has no authority over hydro at all and if neuvillette didnt choose to do so, hydro visions would stop producing, it also states that for other elements, archons are duty bound to do it and that they don't know who gets, or what wish grants someone, a vision, this would also fit with Ei's voiceline bc regardless of the fact that the archons have set aside some elemental power for the sake of visions, she had no idea that no one received an electro vision during the vison hunt decree and thus we were misled from the fact that those w elemental authority (i.e archons & neuvillette) HAVE something to do with it, whether out of duty or are personally willing to.. im thinking its almost like celestia is so confident that they have kinda coded a system and are just chilling up there... or, something maybe has happened to them since nahida also suggests that they've been too quiet, bc I cant think of any reason why they'd grant visions to ppl like the harbingers, Albedo, kaeya & so on.

Honestly, that Celestia having a big enough ego that they can make the process of granting visions go on autopilot while they chill up above was similar to my line of thinking and I think you're correct or it has some truths to it. It really helps answer some of the burning questions about The Heavenly Principles and Celestia and what the heck they are doing. Though I also suspect there's more to it as well, but we've only just started getting in deep now to learning more about the truth of Teyvat that we're still missing a lot of pieces to this question.

As far we can tell, based on the semi-obscure and conflicting information we receive, Visions work thus: - Archons are duty bound to set aside some of the power for the granting of visions, while the Elemental Sovereigns may choose to do so, but do not have to - The power of a vision ultimately comes from a Dragon or Archon’s own power, but they have no control over who receives a Vision or when a person will receive one, and cannot magically reclaim an already granted vision. Or in otherwise, they’d have to physically seize the object to take it back - Visions (with some exceptions [thanks Kazuha]) only work for the duration of the grantee’s life and just become powerless husk thereafter (and possible the power in the vision may return to the granter Archon/Dragon but that’s wholly speculative) - Visions grant the grantee power over the element of the vision they receive, but relative talent, power, ability and other factors influence or restrict what a vision holder can do with their vision, although it can be changed or expanded with practice, training, exercise and seems to improve with age. - Visions become intrinsically linked to the person they’re granted to, and taking a vision away from a person has serious, potentially life threatening consequences for their mental and physical health - As far as we can tell, no individual has ever been granted more than 1 vision (do remember Kazuha only resonated with the vision, briefly, of a deceased individual. Or in other words, the vision in question wasn’t given *to him* specifically) - You don’t actually have to be human to have a vision, as evidenced by the Wanderer and Albedo’s acquisition of one and Fontainians before Neuvillette’s ascension having them (and they were technically Oceanids). You only need to be I suppose “human enough” to get one. - Finally, visions have something to do with desires or ambitions on the part of the people who acquire but the exact specifics of that process remain ultimately unknown to us, the Traveler, other vision holders and even the Archons and Dragon Sovereigns.

I think Furina's Vision came from Neuvillette's power.. in his character bio about Visions, he left some powers just like the Archons did in order to grant worthy humans with the power of hydro.. and Neuvillette wants Furina to come back on the stage and be a performer again.. we do know that Furina is one of Fontaine's greatest performers that troupe members from countless different performing troupes all look up to Furina.. meaning she is the greatest actress in Fontaine (not counting her acting role as the Archon).. so with her finally taking the stage again even after limiting herself from not doing it again, is perhaps the catalyst that made her worthy of the gnosis.. someone who comes back to do what they always dreamed of after being scared of the powers it can provide.. Furina has always been a performer, but she doesn't like being a deceiver, and that conflicted her because her greatest performance is to deceive everyone.. hence why she got scared of performing again because she doesn't want to deceive people again.. but this time her performance comes from her honest self.. putting everything in it even if it is just for a moment..

Im noticing that the characters from the prologue are similar to the archons. Liza being similar to the Ei in which they strive for for the stasis in which they can strive for some semblance of peace by keeping things simpler and less likely to change. Barbara being Furina in this case as they both were pushed to the roles that they were given by the people that needed them. Stars of their nations that needed to change to fit it. From what we get to know the Murata is both Diluc and Amber. Both are very passionate with their agency. And do whatever they can to help those who they believe they either owe or love. Amber wanting to be helpful to the traveler and Diluc mildly respecting them and their actions. With that in mind I think we could infer a lot from Kayea as well for the Tsarista. Kayea is rather charming to hide their insecurities and fears. They work themselves by delegating their work to those who can be seen as “under” themselves. Kayea with the rest of the calvary and the Tsaritsa with the futui. Both are loving enough of their nation and those who even cross them but it stems more from the desire to not be alone. That is just a theory though.

Abit of a Furina theory: I see a lot of discourse with Furina stating she is just a human. However, I think that is Hoyo trying to pull the wool over our eyes. I have been thinking about the Archon quest part 5 and Furina story quest a lot and something has stuck out to me a lot. Perhaps this is a tad crackpot theory, but I see a lot of people saying that Focalors created Furina as a human. This is technically wrong, the lore states and we hear it from Focalors directly, that she separated her divinity from her body. The body left behind is what we know as Furina. This means that at one point in time, Furina's body was that of an Archon. This means it had absolute authority over Hydro at one point. Another thing that I think Hoyo was and is implying is that Furina and Focalors were not separate beings but more like reflections of each other. This fits in on many levels, the first being water has a reflection, so that is pretty straightforward. The next is when Furina meets Focalors for the first time. She calls her “Mirror Me”. (Yes Focalors appears to her in the mirror, but I feel this just adds to the reflections theory) Another thing that stuck with me is when Focalors is talking to Furina about the prophecy. Furina thinks for a moment and remembers the prophecy like she has always know it. Like it's a deep memory in her subconscious. To me, this is so telling Hoyo made it so Focalors didn't tell Furina about the prophecy, Furina remembered. Focalors left that memory with Furina. If she could leave that, what else could she have left with Fruina, perhaps an affinity to Hydro? etc. Now, I know I am bringing Furina's kit into a lore discussion, But I think it reveals Hoyo's motives. Firstly, as a unit, Furina is incredibly strong at what she does. She is on par with the other four archons we have so far. She is able to wield hydro to such a level that outdoes all other hydro characters when you think about it. She has four individual and unique familiars/minions. The trio even seems sentient. She is also “Meta-defining”, a word that I know gets thrown around for strong units in general, not just Archons but something all Archons have technically done. Another thing the story has loved to run as a recurring joke is putting Fruina in a battle situation and focusing on her refusal or avoidance of fighting, Three stick out: When the traveller first meets her, during the trial with Clorande and in her story quest. This is an interesting thing to keep bringing up, especially with a character like Furina. Her Lore power level and her kit power level are almost at odds with each other. I think Furina as a unit was made the way she is because her power level and status (possible divinity) have still yet to be revealed to us, thinking Story Quest part 2. The only difference between Furina unit wise is that Furina uses a vision and the other archons don't. (venti and Zhongli are using fake visions obviously to hide their identities) This is because Focalors gave the Hydro authority back to Neuvillette. While it has not been 100% confirmed, the authority is what seems to be what allows archons to use the elements without visions etc. Another thing is when Focalors has passed, hydro bubbles flow to Neuvillette, restoring his authority, BUT the same bubbles also flow to Furina, now that can be explained as delivering a message to Furina thanking her for her sacrifice etc however, this seems odd that the same bubbles that restore Neuvillettes hydro authority are also the same that go to Furina perhaps Focalors gave more than that message perhaps she blessed Furina with Hyrdo affinity or gave her the remainder of her power. Another thing to note is that Furina has all the trappings of an “Archon” unit. She has the constellation, the power level, and the other archons talking about her. Her status seems very vague or ambiguous. Her voice lines also seem to be half between her post archon hood and her character of Focalor. Her vision has a unique look to it; She is the first left and right-hand-using sword user, etc. She can also change her alignment at will, which as an ability seems powerful, not even Neuvillette can do that. She also gained a vision so she could technically ascend to Celestia and become a god once again. Now, one wish I have had for the story of Genshin is to see a new Archon ascend in front of us. To me, Fruina is the most likely candidate so far to possible to do that.

This is what I was thinking thinking too. Nahida says her recorded journey started in Kaenriah. But the Archon war (when the gods fought over the Gnosis) was much earlier than that. So maybe, our Twin got turned into Gnosis much earlier in the timeline. Then 500 years ago Kaenriah tried to revive the twin...and SUCCEEDED. The current Abyss Twin wouldn't have their full power, and had to journey through all the regions in order to regain their affinity for all the elements, before moving their plans to the Abyss where they can plan their rebellion in secret. Meanwhile, the Fatui are trying to collect all the Gnosis then maybe they'll make an artificial "Vessel" (like what Dottore did to Scaramouche) but this will be powered by ALL the Gnosis. It looks like both the Abyss Order and the Fatui are going to challenge Celestia by collecting the powers of ALL the elements

According to Zhongli's voice line about visions: visions are also a kind of contract, an exchange. The vision holder gets control over an element thanks to the respective Archon sharing a small part of their authority and whoever actually gives them out gains something else. Thanks to Ei we know that the Archons have no direct influence on who gets visions. Because of the themes going on with vision holders I suspect that the only influence that Archons have on it is their ideal. For example Venti's ideal is freedom: Jean's ambition was freedom for Mondstadt and when she overcame a struggle that was in the way of this ambition she was granted a vision. Similarly Faruzan who wanted to free herself from the ruins she was stuck in got her vision after overcoming that obstacle. Due to the whole "acending to celestia" thing I am still convinced that Celestia plays some kind of role in who gets a vision or not. Especially because while the Archons sit on the throne, giving them the elemental authority, Celestia is the one who made those thrones and gave away the authority they stole from the Dragon Sovereigns. Now because the visions are connected to the elemental authority I think that Furina's vision wasn't exactly given to her by Celestia but Neuvillette. Her vision story says that it seemed like a reward for her past deeds, that being her sacrifice for the people of Fontaine. This not only makes her vision an odd one out due to her ambition having been to (unintentionally since she didn't know Focalors plan) deceive the Heavenly Principals but also because it was given long after she had achived it. Edit: I would like to add that by facing the thing that caused her so much pain and freeing herself of that, it would've made much more sense if she had gained an anemo vison yet she gained a hydro one. Another thing that makes her vision odd.

I agree that Neuvilette must’ve given her the vision, and that’s why it’s Hydro. It may in some way be a little token from him; like “Here; maybe you could never even control Hydro before, but for a human you’ve proven yourself worthy of the title you held nonetheless” since y’know she was so selfless and dedicated to the ultimate justice for Fontaine: clearing their “sin” and saving them all. Maybe in his eyes, she’s still technically worth being remembered as the last Hydro archon, even for a regular human. Maybe she was playing a role, but it’s also not fair to remember her as a fraud. The vision may also be a sign of respect to Focalors. If she was just a former oceanid who wanted to live as a human but was forced to sort out Egeria’s sins and become archon, eventually having to take her own life to save everyone… Maybe Neuvilette giving Furina a Hydro vision was more of a “Go and live the human life Focalors wanted you to have, and may Hydro, her / my power, go with you.” We’ve seen he is pretty sentimental, after all. As for why she’s not more Anemo than Hydro: Chongyun’s character story thing has a random note that he could’ve also fit as a Pyro wielder, yet he’s Cryo. I imagine many characters could actually align with different elements and their respective values/virtues, but ultimately end up with whatever is the most fitting. Consider that Dendro is Wisdom, but the Akademiya’s legendary scholar Lisa has an Electro vision (contrast with other genius scholars Alhaitham and Kaveh, both Dendro, and both also largely acknowledged for their minds - Alhaitham serving as Acting Grand Sage, and Kaveh being the human with closest understanding of true wisdom, according to Nahida). this also raise a lot of questions for me like 1) what punishment will Fontaine receive now? Because surely, the destruction of one Celestial Throne is a bigger crime than Egeria creating humans from oceanids. 2) Nahida proposed the possibility of Celestia awakening if she destroys a Gnosis .. Now that a Throne (Hydro) was destroyed, is Celestia going to respond now after staying silent for 500yrs? Will Celestia send the FBI to investigate on their Throne's destruction? 3) Now that the Hydro Archon's Throne is destroyed, will the Statue of Seven in Fontaine - no longer work?

If you read neuvillette’s story line on visions (I think it was called visions) it actually explains how the archons, though they don’t know how it works exactly, they bestow certain individuals with fragments of themselves and then these fragments turn into visions after certain feats. Neuvillette also does this, though he doesn’t have to because he isn’t bound by the laws of celestia, now that their is no hydro archon to do so because he respects or admires the determination of humans

I am sorry if my english is bad cuz i am a irl resident of Fontaine but Furina got her vision as a gift from Neuvillette. I can explain. If you have Neuvillette, go to profile and then history ( idk if the translation is the same in english as in french so the name can change )when you have maximum affinity, you can see that Neuvillette (hydro dragon) can give part of her powers to a worthy human. Furina. Also we can see it with the shape of her vision, there are dragon fangs

When it comes to the gnosis, i think what skirk said shows how actually they may hold no relation to the authority of the dragons. I think the divinity of the archons is part the authority of dragons (hence neuv regaining his full dragonhood in focalors death without needing the gnosis) but also the gnosis as a separate entity. If the third descender is anything like traveller they would have been able to manipulate all seven elements despite not being of teyvat's world - hence their remains would be able to create a gnosis for each of those elements?

My theory is that the Traveler and their twin are the 4th and 3rd Descenders respectively. They originally came down long before the Archon War, saw the destruction caused by Abyssal Power and the Celestial Nails thrown down, and tried to leave. Cue opening cutscene. The Twins were sent back down, the sibling of the Traveler dying not soon after. After the Traveler wandered around Teyvat, the Jueyun Karst tale plays out and Traveler and Paimon got memory wiped, Traveler put to sleep again and sealed until they woke up and fished Paimon out of the sea, who did keep wandering around Teyvat. In the meantime the Primordial One and Second Who Came took the Sibling's Remains and turned them into the Gnoses. The early Khaenri'ahns managed to get hold of *another* part of their remains and tried to resurrect them, which resulted in the Abyss Twin as a near-perfect clone. That's why the Abyss Twin is considered From Teyvat, they are not the original Descender entity, they are reborn IN Teyvat
@sourstripes
@sourstripes 9 ай бұрын
Tbh I hadn’t thought about the abyss sibling being like, a reborn version of the original, but it doesn’t sound impossible. - Early on we get Albedo, introducing us to synthetic humans. - Scaramouche and Raiden Shogun are puppets. And technically, Scaramouche isn’t even himself anymore. He’s the new timeline’s body and memories, given the old timeline’s memories. (Correct me if I’m wrong btw.) - Dottore animated segments of himself, with a sort of collective consciousness. - Natlan : ode of “resurrection” may also be relevant here I will say that the synthetic humans so far had obvious signs of not being natural people. Albedo’s neck mark, Wanderer’s joints and neck mark, Shogun’s neck mark, Dottore having different looks. As far as we know right now, the abyss twin doesn’t appear noticeably different to the traveler. Still an interesting idea nonetheless.

This might be unrelated, but just some info regarding other usages of the term "primordial," specifically in D&D. Primordial is the language that demons (not devils, those are different) speak, and in Dungeons and Dragons, Demons originate from the Abyss... I know the two universes are VERY different, but I just thought that the connection here could offer some insight (or just something to consider) for future theories. Love the videos, by the way!

Genshin constantly tells stories of Girardian mythical sacirificial rituals of innocent scapegoats. Beidou, Shenhe were scapegoats in their villages. Now in Fotaine we have 3 stories of such rituals: Carole the Melusine sacrificed herself to the mob to pacify a civil unrest, Furina doing to save the Fontaine, and the Little Oceanid doing it for her village. Girard explains such rituals in that way: humanity is a network of empty mirror nods similar to oceanids (which are monstrous doubles of humanity), that constantly need to imitate each other, trying to steal cooness/godhood from other, copying their desires for limited resources, and thus becoming competitors, which bring violence and loss of differentiation, and society collapses. In this chaos people subconciously turn their violence against someone who is part of the community, someone similar to them, but having some difference - some physical defect (like Furina's heterochromia), someone who worships gods in other way, be it witches, jews, LGBT people or royals, someone on a society's margins, some minority that won't be able to retaliate and perpetuate the violence. They project their violence on this scapegoat - he wanted to destroy society, he broke a taboo (an oceanid or a melusine trying to live among humans), so he must be punished. They lynch the scapegoat, have catharsis, and for a time violence is subdued. And they start to believe that the scapegoat through their "sacrifice" created a new eon, new society with new taboos, "sanctioned" this post-lynching society, so he must be a god. Furina was marginalised for 500 years, she was adored, but never was part of society, she was in a territory of society. Then comes difficult times due to a prophecy, and people are looking for whom to blame, and they find a fake archon, so probably that's a crime, a broken taboo that must be punished to avert the fury of gods. But only Focalors is lynched, and Furina forgives the sins of Fontanians, as well as Neuvilette. Furina is tired of telling lies, a myth about what gods are. But the musical "The Little Oceanid" allows her to perform, but tells the truth of her story for everyone to see. She plays an oceanid that became a human, who was blamed for water leaving the village, though in reality there was no wrath of hydro spirits for the oceanid breaking some kind of taboo of becoming a fake human. The waters were poisoned with violence from humans competing with each other. And the oceanid sacrifices herself only to save her lover and everything good that is in human society despite its proclivite to violence and lyching innocent scapegoats. She is even sacrificed to the water in the most archetypal way possible - by driving her off the cliff, so that nobody could be blamed for a murder, it's a collective lynching with not one single specific responsibility for the murder. But she receives a Vision, return into waters and cleanse it of human violence and society's order is restored. Ex-lynchers may wrongly believe that society is saved by lynching, but the story doesn't allow us to create a myth that the oceanid was guilty of breaking a taboo and that she poisoned water like Jews were accused. The story tells the truth: society itself created the chaos by everyone becoming the same and wanting the same things and competing with each other. The oceanid is innocent. So Furina is faking a character, she plays it, but this time her fake role is telling the Truth of victims being just innocent scapegoats. And fake things become real - she receives a real Vision. And she understands that in order to tell the Truth you sometimes need fake things, so she now doesn't hate acting so much. So now I want to see Scara completing the Girardian antropology by imitating the most benevolent Christ-like personality in the world of Teyvat, closing the hole in his soul by not fake godhood of pagan fake acrhons (Baal/Ei) of Celestia, but by true non-violent benelevant godhood of Focalors/Furina. And I also want to see Kaveh completing the quest Sachin wanted him to do - to find the true origin of human suffering and violence. So that Kaveh could openly say that the source of all suffering is humanity being no different from oceanids, empty and just copying each other because they are ashamed of their emptiness/nakedeness and trying to achieve false godhood, that is steeped in competition for limited-resources and thus violence.

It’s really interesting that the one element that we did end up losing (in terms of losing the archon) is hydro. Considering water is the one element that’s not part Honkai Elemental system but every other archon can be connected to the Honkai elements (excluding Quantum and Imaginary, of course). I have absolutely no knowledge of that means anything but it’s really standing out to me.

I kinda hate that the English translation used the word "counterpart" to describe Furina's identity. Because in the japanese translation, Focalor refers to Furina as "The human me" which suggests that Furina is the physical manifestation of that Divinity. Counterpart implies that something is a clone of another something which Furina is not. When Focalor bid farewell to Neuvillette, in the Japanese script, she used the word 「じゃあね」which also means goodbye but in a "see you" manner, which gave more nuance that Focalor did not actually said goodbye like forever but rather "See you later, as Furina" since the body still lives on.

Great video, though I have some points to add. First at 18:23, I believe this quest is supposed to imply that the gnoses are just elemental amps made of the remains of the third decsender, while the thrones of the archons up in celestia are the ones containing the soverigns stolen power, hence Neuvillette is still a fully powered dragon after giving away the hydro gnosis. Secondly, Neuvillette has an about vision paragraph in his character profile which explains that after achiveing full dragonhood Neuvillette begun giving away parts of his energy in the form of visions so I guess Furina got her vision from Neuvilette. Please keep making great content 🙏

I don't think life is an element, because Neuvillette's story text states that hydro holds domain over life. Life in Teyvat originates from the Primordial Sea, which either the hydro sovereign, or throne of hydro, controls. Egeria and Focalors were guardians of the primordial sea, but the true power over it was held by the shade of life until Neuvillette regained his authority. Neuvillette now has the ability to create new life at will, in a similar way to him transforming Fontainians into true humans. I would also say that I think that Dendro is the element of logos (thought), with Irminsul being the root of all knowledge in Teyvat. Likewise, Nahida is guardian of Irminsul, but Celestia clearly holds control over it in a way that surpasses even Nahida. Time is obvious, with it clearly being Anemo. Venti originates from Istaroth, the confirmed shade of time, who is referred to as the thousand winds. As for Space and Death, that's tricky, but it could possibly be Geo for space, and maybe Pyro or Cryo for Death.
@sourstripes
@sourstripes 9 ай бұрын
I’m kinda surprised you said anemo with time, instead of death in a way you could consider death as both the “ultimate freedom,” or as the “ultimate sacrifice” for freedom. i also think of the whole scene with venti asking hans for his dead friend stanley’s soul, showing it to him, and then laying it to rest (smth like that) time could maybe be with Electro’s eternity, as time is seen with both Ei’s unchanging plane of euthymia and also the sakura tree story. and of course with anemo there’s also the recurring theme where multiple anemo users watch a friend die, which only fuels their chase of freedom more (Kazuha parrying the Shogun to stop the vision hunt decree, etc.) however time also makes sense with anemo it reminds me of when venti said something like… he knows every song past, present, and future (i think?)

i think the Tsaritsa is trying to take over either Celestia or the other realms Abyss and Light .. Pierro specifically said that Rosalyne's resting place would be the entirety of the "Old World" .. In literal sense we can take it as the Tsaritsa invading the realm of Vishaps .. and in a metaphorical sense, Pierro could be hinting that the Tsaritsa will replace Celestia gaining the authority to recreate the world - just as how the Primordial One created Teyvat

Two things I want to point out: Since Fontaine’s located so high up wouldn’t that mean that all Teyvat was flooded? Well I think that the ‘flood’ was actually Fontaine sinking bellow the water level…. Since primordial sea is right bellow Fontaine it’s likely the nation is a massive iceberg of sorts…. When the water went into chaos it could’ve hold Fontaine’s so it collapsed… this would make só other nation would be okay, with only a slight water level rise that would go back to normal Visions seems to be tied to the elemental authority… im guessing that since Neuvillete holds the absolute authority over Hidro he can give visions…. However since other archons don’t have full authority over their element they aren’t the ones giving visions…. Rather it’s celestia due to its higher authority compared to archons… but likely it not high enough compared to a dragon soveryn at full power

@@biazacha The throne held the authority, the gnosis isn't even the true sign of one's archonhood, you can be an archon while not having the Gnosis with you, Ex. Raiden giving it to Yae a long time ago yet she is STILL the Electro Archon. Assuming that the Gnoses had the Authority, Scara would've been a far harder opponent to beat due to having the Authority of Electro, yet he got beaten by Traveler and Nahida, both who have shown no feats stronger than the 3 Archons before them. Focalors main goal was to save Fontaine, she herself said everything she did was to return the authority to the hydro sovereign. If the gnosis simply gave authority, all she had to do was give the gnosis to Neuvillette. That is obviously not the case That being said, Neuvillette is now the fully fledged hydro dragon sovereign, he has full authority of hydro now, if that was the base of the gnosis power, then the hydro gnosis should be powerless now, and yet he said he "didn't need its power", meaning it's not the authority Also it's literally not implied or stated or hinted anywhere that the Authority is stored in Gnosis. It's clearly said that in order to give Neuvillette his dragon Authority. The "throne of the hydro archon" had to be destroyed. If the purpose of oratrice was to just kill the Hydro archon then she wouldn't even have to accumulate Indemnitium since we know that Archons can die. She stored that amount of indemnitium to destroy the throne. And if you think the "throne" is the "Gnosis" then the Gnosis should've been destroyed which is obviously not the case.

About Furina’s vision, I believe others have said but It’s granted by Neuvilette. In his final character lore, it states how archons/authorities have a part to play when giving visions. And Neuvillette, described as “a dragon hording it’s gold and sharing” can also grant visions. So it makes sense that Mr. “I want to judge the Heavenly Principles” would stick it to them and grant Furina a vision

25:12 Considering the time in the Abyss is much faster than in the Overworld, Childe could have been in the Primordial Sea for much longer than 45 days 25:41 In Neuvillette’s Vision story, we get these lines. ‘From that day on, whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift. Though they might know nothing of who or what wish had stepped into the threshold of the sacred, the Seven Archons still had to impart a shattered shard of their mastery to that person. And when one so gifted completed their duty... the gift the gods would receive in return would be more abundant still. Neuvillette obeys no edict from the heavens, but he does acknowledge human will. So he too set aside parts of himself as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them.’

Yea taking into account that his character stories specifically mention that his time in the abyss was 3 months But in teyvat only 3 days have passed So 45 days in teyvat means that child was probably fighting the Narwhal for at least a year Probably up to 3 years if I did the math right Poor guy needs a break meanwhile skirk just yeets him into the void

@@Moon1tan I'm a bit confused about it but primordial sea is not abyss, right? Narwal pops up though abyss portal, gets punched back in. We fight it in the primordial sea. Skirk yeets it back into the abyss. If I got that right it's not all that clear where Childe fought the wale, no? If it was within the primordial sea, it wouldn't be abyss timeflow.

@@derp_dragons according to Childe, the abyss where he trained with Skirk was the same one he saw the narwhal in, so it might actually be the primordial sea that has special time flow (or the primordial sea is somehow in the abyss)

Hi Minsleif, I have a few questions about Neuvillette and his "Ancient Dragons Authority". Questions Context: When reading the Iudex's voice lines, he talks extensively about how having the power to judge all of the world and even rival/take down the Archons if need be. It is worth noticing though, that before his meeting with Focalors, he never stated these ambitions and implied that though he is strong as the Dragon Sovereign of Water, without the power usurped power he could not have taken an Archon in a fight. Besides his kind and gentle nature, this is why I believe he never devised to take the Gnosis from Furina, as on the off chance she was a God, she would have stomped him. What farther backs this up is Childe. He fought the All Devouring Narwhal ((bye buddy, hope you find your dad lmao)) for 45 days straight to a stalemate - Neuvillette fought it for about 15 second and could not keep up. Yet in the end (with the travelers "assistance") Neuvillette was the one to defeat it with his regained powers, returned to him by Focalors. Skirk even implies that this version of Neuvillette is far stronger by saying "I simply do not have anything to say to the weak" and then goes on to acknowledge our lovely Font of All Waters saying "You on the other hand managed to defeat the All Devouring Narwhal without using powers from beyond." Going back to the beginning, it is after this interaction that the gnosis is given away, and after even that when Neuvillette talks about Judging the remaining 6 of the 7 (rest in peace Focalors). My question then is, if he gave the Gnosis to The Knave Arlecchino, how then is he still so powerful? My personal theory is that the Gnosis doesn't contain the elemental powers themselves, but rather the authority of a god. When we learn about the stolen powers of the 7 Dragon Sovereigns of Teyvat, Neuvillette doesn't actually say Gnosis (if I remember correctly), rather he talks of stolen authorities and original powers. This is even supported by Focalors when she doesn't say she'll give him the Gnosis, rather she returns his "authority." If that's the case, what really makes a god, a god, is their authority over a domain as I believe Furina has said before. Does this then mean that the Gnosis given away to Arlecchino is empty? Only carrying the residual powers of the third descender? Does this also mean, that by way of technicality, Neuvillette is both the Hydro Archon, and the Dragon Sovereign of Water? Hence why no new archon was born because their powers made it back to its rightful place. TL;DR: I believe that Focalors gave Neuvillette the Gnosis, along with the powers sold separately. The Gnosis Neuvillette gave to Arleccino was essentially empty, say for the power of the third descender. In my mind, this is how Neuvillette is still so powerful. Other theories : Focalors gave the Gnosis, and Authority over Hydro (aka her godhood) keeping the Gnosis full power and giving Neuvillette her power as a god. Or Neuvillette lost his full power as a Dragon, and is simply drunk with power from that fateful night. All in all, that part left me confused as to how the Gnosis' actually work - and how Neuvillette was able to regain his power, and keep it without one. I'd love the input of someone more intelligent than I.

Yeah gnoses don’t seem to be a main source of elemental power. Yae Miko was holding Ei’s gnosis since before she went into the plane of euthymia, which is why Miko was able to hand the gnosis over to Scaramouche in the delusion factory. However Ei was still able to fight her puppet self for 500 years. I believe the power we’ve seen from gnosis-havers was (at least in part) from the fact none of them were human. Venti was a wind spirit thing. Neuvilette was always a dragon, full power or not. Scaramouche was always a puppet, able to go into the abyss and hold the title of Harbinger even without a gnosis. I believe part of a gnosis’s power may be ‘amplifying whatever’s already there.’ Not necessarily giving new power. Hence the electro Gnosis being connected to the Balladeer’s god-robot body. It makes sense to me cuz it’s the third descender’s remains, yet they align with different elements. In the same way, the fourth descender / traveler can resonate with all elements at statues of the seven. So I think each gnosis was kinda issued out to the archons as a proper symbol of godhood i suppose, but it may also have the ability to help with resonating their power (like weapons in Soul Eater, lol) or the same reason why you’ll see throughout fiction magic users can just use their hands or whatever to cast spells but tend to want a wand or something to channel their power inside / better control it. It’s 3am rn so I definitely might’ve typed something inaccurate lol correct me if I’m wrong

Yay recap video! Enjoyed watching this! I can certainly feel you about wanting to see more of Childe during the Archon Quest, though basically his one scene was pretty amazing. But honestly, just finally seeing Skirk and knowing the kind person she is now, I can forgive them after waiting for literally over 3 years now. 😭💓 I do have to disagree, at least in some form, about your opinion on the Traveler being a "Gnosis". Considering how blunt the Genshin team is with foreshadowing, I do not think it was a coincidence that Neuvillette compare the Traveler to the "remains of the Third Descender" and the kind of power it is that presumably The Heavenly Principles reshaped in the form of the Gnoses. I also suspect that this gives a good indication of the true purpose behind the Gnoses, knowing the Divine Throne and the Gnosis are indeed separate, if we consider the fact that the Traveler has so far been the only one we know of to be able to actually mimic/take hold of parts of the Elemental Authorities. I also can't decide if I can fully agree with you take on The Pale Princess book yet. Considering its has the Rose imagery on the book, it's widely believed that it's one of the books that Andersdotter wrote, so I don't want to discount the idea that the book may very well be a straight up allegorical tale of a past history, which seems very likely now to be that of the Third Descender and maybe the Archons? Or perhaps just about the Gnoses. This does mean that there being just 6 pygmies foreshadowing the destruction of the Hydro Throne doesn't seem as likely now, though the book being about the history of the Third Descender and the prophecy ig of the remains of them afterwards is certainly not off the table. But I'm leaning more towards allegorical tale because I'm thinking either the Light Prince may be part of the 6 pygmies and thus complete to seven or there's another reason for there to only be 6 pygmies, base on my own theories regarding the Third Descender and the "truth", ig we can say, behind the 7 Archons. But I'm still mulling over the theories to not feel like talking about them yet.

im wondering if neuvilette will get the part 2 story quest or not like all the other archons have. I feel like it definitely wouldn't make sense for Furina to have it since she is a normal human now and I DEFINETLY want to know more about Neuvilettes dragon history I feel like there so much more we can get lore wise out of it too.

I saw a lore/theory video that said that visions are granted by a rule upon Teyvat set by Celestia which is: when persons desires reach a peak a vision is granted to them and when their desires/goal is met the vision returnes to the archon/celestia more aplified. So Celestia wouldn't need to worry about the coup to stop vision granting, nor can she personally, because the vision holder will aplify, or give something unknown, back to Celestia by achieving their desire. The archons can distrupt this process (the lightning visions disappearing) but can't choose specifically who to give or not to give visions. So conserning Furinas vision, Nouvillette took back his power so he did give Furina a vision, but not by his choice to simply give her specifically, but by choosing to keep this power exchange/tranfer rule in tact (it is likely that even if Nouvillette didn't get his powers back, Furina would still get her vision by the rule). Tho in this theory it is still unclear about if by destroying the hydro archon throne the exchange to Celestia is disrupted or not, but leans towards the answer that it is and Celestia has no more connection to the Hydro powers in any way.

I really hate the fact that no one checked on her after everything has ended. I immediately did her story quest to see if they consoled her or something, but instead all i saw was traveler and Paimon making fun of her for being a normal person now and powerless 🙃

If you were suffering for 500 years in a prison…would you want everyone to come over and say how sorry and how proud they are of you…or would you want to sprint the fuck outta there and rest? Think hard about it…if I was her, I would want to be left the hell alone for another 500 years…and Paimon got told off by Furina and traveler in her quest…plus traveler extended their friendship to her and was there step by step while she worked with the troupe…and at the end they even told her they would love to have her travel with them in the future! Y’all just sensitive cause of how her story went

@@fathergascoigne1457 they obviously did, his argument above is pointless and the analogy was very weak that i can't be argued since there's not a point to begin with. my point still stands because Furina was basically ignored by everyone aside from Neuvillette. It was pretty obvious that Paimon and traveler were being mean to her as if she did nothing for the prophecy. there was not even a proper closure as to what happened to Furina for all she's done. the only chance for such is her SQ act 2 which is still not certain on how are they gonna go with it. also, clearly none of you knows how to empathize if you don't feel anything for Furina after the quest and just say like "yuh, she deserves that for being conceited and arrogant". a person who can't read others feelings would always base their opinions with rage like the two of you did here. can someone explain to my why focalors had to do the entire deceiving the heavenly principles thing? like was it simply to give neuvilette his powers back so he could save the people if so couldn't focalors just do that herself as the literal hydro archon? it says that she did so to save the people from the prophecy but how exactly did she do that. the only reason why they were saved was because of neuvilette.
