in case if anyone still hasnt figured it out, Mint is the "budget version" of t-mobile, they use the t-mobile network. just like how Cricket Wireless is the budget version of AT&T.

Elc22, let me do a slight correction... Seems to me that Mint uses the T-Mo US network (all MVNO's "buy bandwidth" from one or more of the "Major 4"), but this is NOT OWNED BY T-MO (they have Metro PCS for that, which they bought in '17) unlike Cricket, which was bought by AT&T like a couple of years ago or Boost Mobile, which is owned by Sprint.

Having been a T-Mobile hater for a long time due to coverage here in Minneapolis T-Mobile service is solid. I was on MetroPCS now on Mint with the $20 for 3 months deal. Also Mint announced on Reddit they are bumping up all plans so my plan will go to 8gb at the end of January 2019. Cricket has solid coverage but just like this video crap speeds, I was always looking for wifi, now I get LTE-A with 50mb down/16mb up which is almost as fast at my home wifi. FYI I am using a factory unlocked Note 9, I get Wifi Calling and VoLTE along with band 71 support.

I recently added a new line ( we had 3 now 4 ) to take advantage of the BOGO offer as I upgraded a current line . Need fine print question answered . I recently added a 4th line to take advantage of the BOGO , as I upgraded one of the original 3. My question is if I cancel one of the original lines ( that does not have an installment ) will it cancel my promotion on the new line ? I know AT & T has a 90 day rule if you cancel any lines within 90 days of a promotion it gets kicked off . Does Verizon have this same fine print ? I've called and asked several different stores and I keep on getting different answers .
@daiyuhaoran6776
@daiyuhaoran6776 3 жыл бұрын
You can cancel any line except the recently upgraded line and the new line . Also , how was false churn not be passed on to the customer yet ? If you cancel one of the 2 lines thats not involved in the promo , thats fine . would recommend waiting until you see the BOGO credits on your bill before cancelling an old line though

Mint has now removed the speed cap for the LTE data! This network is amazing, especially being in college this is a huge money saver. My previous plan was US Cellular. 35 a month for unlimited talk text and 2GB of data. Now I get 8GB for half of what I payed with US Cellular, and still 2G data after that!

Been using Mint Mobile (as it's now called) for just under 2 years here in the Saint Louis area and have reliably had coverage and great speeds everywhere I go. The pricing definitely beats the carrier I came from (Ting) and it kicks the shit out of Verizon's pricing. I recently have been without a home internet connection due to moving, so I have for the first time gone over my data limit. With throttled data (after surpassing limit), web browsing still works fine, and if I reduce the quality to 144p, even KZbin works OK, which was surprising to me. If you cant handle throttled speeds though, they do make it easy to add more high speed data.

I've been using Mint Mobile for almost exactly 11 months. I have the 5 GB/month. I've been happy with it. I've had some minor issues - especially when traveling in Iowa. The whole thing of missing phone calls or going directly to voicemail, I haven't really noticed it. On the other hand, I have a phone to MAKE phone calls. People who call me can leave a message. I'm part hermit. Yes, I'll be renewing next month. I'm happy with Mint.

My download speeds I have tested in 3 parts of town I got 29, 28 and 69 Mbps, in other words if there is coverage in your area from T-Mobile it will match their speed, also I have not lost reception yet. I have had it for about a week now and so far so good. I am using it with a Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus global version phone. Mint is DEFINETLY worth it if you live in western NY.

Speed Cap? I got 55 mbs on speed test late at night in Silly con valley. Coverage is spotty, fortunately my sig other has ATT MVNO and between the 2 of us, we can almost always get through when on trips together. I just renewed for 6 months.18 a month. It's really nice not even having to think about it for months at a time. It's OK for the money. But TMobile network is smaller. Waay back in the day, (90's) phone bills used to be a major portion of my expendable income. 60 bucks for 30 minutes on cell + additional minutes, and a home phone bill at least 150-250 every month, mostly "local long distance" calls. Now I spend less than 200 for a whole year for all my communications costs. Which leaves more money for $4 a gallon gas. Ha!

The longer you pay in advance, the cheaper the rate. $180 for 12 months / 12 months = $15/month. If you buy a three month block, it's $23/month.

I've been using for 6months and it great. Its an MVNO that uses T-Mobile network so matches its coverage and speeds. I went down from $20/mo for 5GB to $15/mo for 2GB as I don't use that much data. Only catch is after 3month trial you have to pay for a year ahead of time to get that price.

Hello! I have a question Does it really have unlimited data or just the 2, 5 or 10 GB per month?
@TechDaily
@TechDaily 6 жыл бұрын
Nothing is truly "unlimited." You pay for 2, 5 or 10GB of 4G LTE data per month and how you use it is up to you. If you reach that limit, you can always add more. If you do not, you're subject to (I believe) 2G data speeds until the next month when it resets.

I have a theroy about testing phone service, when you first sign up and let's say they provide a 14 day trial period. During that time the carrier gives you full speed and top notch service, after the trial all that goes away and you're now locked in. Sooooo we need the update video

You are absolutely correct, and it cannot even be argued otherwise. That is the case for contract carriers, however, with mvno non contract carriers, this method of bait and switch would not make any sense. Because, after the 3 months you could just walk away to another service. So, one would have to think the mvno's are legit, and have created a market to fill the space between the big carriers price gouging, and the real cost of doing business. I personally like the TracFone commuter driving model even better. Fill up the gas tank ie (mins, texts, data), and drive until you need to fill up again. That way, you only pay for what you actually use. Cheap, and transparent.

I just speed tested my 3 yr old MINT SIM off of a server 200 miles away from me. 32.1 Mbps download and 20.2 Mbps upload. Then I switched to WIFI and 256.14 Mbps download I'll say that's pretty damn good.

It's my 3rd year with MINT SIM/MINT MOBILE. Couldn't be happier! I use 2 different Android devices. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus w/Android 10 and CHUWI HiPad LTE w/Android 8.1 and used both devices for phone, text, MMS and Streaming from the middle of Hawaii to New York, and all points in between FLAWLESSLY! I pay $180 A YEAR plus tax for unlimited talk & text w/3gig data. My wife pays that much EVERY MONTH for her Verizon iPhone 10X. I get signal in places she can't. She won't change because she calls MINT "one of those cheap fly-by-night companies". AAAARGH! I started w/MINT SIM 3 years ago and had failures w/MMS. I was using a Samsung Galaxy S5 w/Android 5.1. When I got my new phone I quickly determined the problem was with my OLD DEVICE. SO Use Android 7 or higher. My wife likes her iPhone for Facetime. I downloaded Google DUO for her, and it works BETTER! I've convinced my wife to switch to MINT when the Verizon contract is up. Oh Yeah, MINT HAS NO STINKING CONTRACTS! One fast rising competitor nipping at MINT is Spectrum. Spectrum doesn't come close to MINT flexible pricing/packages/options. I've dealt with Spectrum (Time Warner) for years with internet, TV & phone bundle. It's the biggest "Bait & Switch" company. They suck you in with a low price, and steadily increase until your PAYING DOUBLE, and the LOW Price is for "NEW Customers ONLY". They'll do the same with their cellular venture. And Yes, MINT is 2nd Tier T-Mobile. That means when you look at a cell tower w/T-Mobiles equipment on the very top of the tower; MINT equipment literally uses a lower rung on their tower. If you've ever looked at T-Mobile coverage maps, it's smart to piggy-back on their towers. MINT is NOT owned by T-Mobile.

I found something similar to this that you can download through the App Store. I think it’s only on iPhone, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’d like to see a review on it if possible. It’s called “Visible”. Edit: I did some research and it is unlimited data, but capped at 5 up and 5 down.

They say itr's $20 month for service, but that doesn't include fees and taxes which are about $8 bringing your monthly total to $28 for 8 GB LTE if you pay for the annual service. It's $35 (plus taxes) a month otherwise. BTW Hotspot will work with Mint
