Good call about the type of trousers to wear. Thank you. I know what you mean about the A66. There are too many single track roads after the dual carriageways, when it’s open. I ran over a duck once believe it or not after the Appleby turn off. Blencathra looks lovely and very steep so well done on getting to the top.

Pretty much the exact spot I set up my bivvy last spring. Woke up to the mist coming down from Blencathra. A view worth being the midge's free feast on the way up! Great video 👍

Been over Shape Edge 4 time and was bricking it each time but Scales Tarn is a place I love, been swimming in it before (on a red hot day) and Blencathera must be the the summit I have sat on the most with Place Fell. "Pedo in Mothercare".....LOL! That view from the summit on a clear day is stunning and totally with you on the trowel. Good to see you got your bait before you nodded off on this one and a BLOT classic it was too, mind you, that holiday story may have out me off eating it 😖, cheers Alan

Another great camp. Glad to hear you kept the teddy corralled until you could drop him off at the home pool. Hand towel was killer. Funny how mad your mate was but such is the power of beer to smooth things over. God only knows how many grand adventures and problems were solved via the lubrication of alcohol. In the pub you can talk a bit of treason, learn how to reason while shooting the breezin'.

I found an old disgarded rubber glove on the sidewalk in Ketchikan Alaska last week (on a cruise), I couldn't believe my luck , I scooped it up and brought it home to Abbotsford Bc canada , it'll accompany me now on every out of town overnight trip , for good luck , Oooh Matron ! , CHEERS ! to you 🍻 also love the Whasky reviews 😂 also loved the story about the hand towel in your buddy's suitcase , for causing the cold showers , served him right 😅 I'm still laughing 😃

Hi Chris, so sorry you had a scare on the motorway. my wife and i were almost killed in a head on collision 6 years ago when an idiot driver pulled a right hand turn in the path of our car on a 60mph road.
