if a small dev team like arrow head can do the work that they do in such a compressed timeline and Microsoft's Lead IP is getting left to include community forge maps, and shop items is bare bones, how do we not have multiple weapons/ vehicles added instead of 1 rifle..... 1. Come on guys 343 has dropped the ball so hard, we as fans of this community have kept this game alive. Stop taking advantage of the players that are left by adding in $40 Bundles in the shop and make a game that we all want to play, leave chiefs story alone you already ruined it with the whole Cortana story that was literally wrapped up in the books and hardly explained in game. Start something with one of the spartan 3's maybe even the ones on Onyx that story is excellent. There is so much possibilities and its time to really implement them or this franchise will continue to be sub par. Also whatever youre doing at paramount... Just stop for the love of christ

Do you think Activision could make an ODST game? I wouldnt trust them beyond that but i think it may have potential.
@troywrzesinski91437 ай бұрын
343 it’s not that hard, imagine if we had things like playable elites, assassinations, feminine Spartans, a fun and organic progression and reward system that is Immersive and not overly monetized and generic, New enemies added to Forge like flood, promethean, covenant, heretic etc, new weapons, and vehicles, but vehicles that are unique and immersive like elephants, condor, pelicans, scarabs, or drop pods. Vehicles that can be used in big modes, with a lot of room for your team, vehicles that you can independently walk around inside of while they are moving around the map to make the sandbox more immersive. We need guns that have different roles and behaviors Like the plasma rifle, brute shot, spartan laser. Saw, target locator etc. And if they say they can’t do any of this for balancing reasons, then they are focusing way too hard on balancing, Or they are just bad at it. Because it shouldn’t be an excuse, to get rid of fun. modders are blowing them out of the water with this type of content.

Microsoft doesn’t care about the Halo IP anymore. They’ll do the bare minimum to milk the fans and that’s it
@alexlyster34597 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that's exactly true. They clearly still care, but are having troubles making the Series hit the way it used to. And with all their other acquisitions, it's just no longer the single massive crown jewel in their portfolio. I think they're going to treat it as an important IP going forward, but maybe not their Hail Mary money maker that it once was. Which honestly could be a good thing for the Series, having some of that pressure off.

I've given up on mainline Halo. I realized Bungie ended Halo 3 so perfectly that any future game featuring the Chief as protagonist is doomed. He finished the fight. However, the series is ripe for numerous spinoffs; a helljumpers co-op shooter, an elite-themed action-adventure, Halo Wars - there's so much potential for exploring different parts of the universe. But the Chief's story ended when he said, "It's finished." Trying to keep him around after that just feels disrespectful to the epic conclusion of the trilogy. There are other spartans, other elites, other heroes who's stories have yet to be told. Tell THEIR stories.

Was lucky I download the game for free on gamepass around the time it launched, the first 30 minutes of the campaign told me all I needed to know about it gameplay wise, didn't hit the same mark for me as any of the other halo games I played that ran on the blam engine, the interactions you could have with your allies and enemies from halo 2 up to halo reach were the best, especially with the IWHBYD skull on. I felt a lot of the charm from that old engine lost in this game. No friendly firing marines anymore and pissing them off enough to shoot you, little details like that from the old games that really wouldn't have been that hard to implement in this one but they didn't and feels like they went out of their way to remove, the whole game also takes place in just one biome which was just lazy on their part combat evolved had more variety in terrain, it wouldn't have been that difficult to add in like a small mesa biome or something a snow mission at least but all we get is grass and the occasional unnatural cave formation, it starts feeling boring quick. They completely lost me at the bosses with the healthbars, it went from feeling like a halfway decent halo game to playing destiny and I just stopped there. Come to find out the multiplayers broken nothing is working as intended yet they're charging you 9$+ for their obtuse "armor core" system which at launch were just basic colors with next to no options to even modify the armor itself. No mix and matching you're favorite armors like with reach pay 9 dollar for the color blue, dipshit. Felt like a smack in the face. Multiple smacks in the face. 3 smacks. In the face. (Have they still not added campaign coop?) I don't have any faith in the company with this ip anymore. Sincerely I hope that they, or more hopefully some other developer they (hopefully) let work on halo can change my mind about it but as it stands, my love for the franchise ended with 3

A big reason why people don't like 343s stories with halo is yes how long it takes to make them but most importantly 343s games don't end in the game you have to go find and read a book to know that games ending. Its absurd people have ro pay $60 full price for a game only to find out that games ending is not the true ending to it you have to go and read a book to know how that games story truly ends. H4: priced at $60, you put a grenade in Didact's chest and he falls off the ship below into the ships main weapon. You thinks he dies from that? Nope you have to find, buy and read a book to find out the Didact didn’t die and he was teleported to Gamma Halo and Chief and the monitor for that halo teamed up to kill him by trapping him on the piece of the ring and sending into a planet and somehow he still doesn’t die. H5: priced at $60 That horrible story (horrible game in general) again you jave to go buy and read another book to find out how that game truly ends with fireteam Osiris. Halo Wars 2: Priced at $60 with a $20 DLC Ends in a Flood DLC (Awakening the nightmare) You last see Atriox trapped on the Ark with the flood outbreak with his Lieutenants to clean it up. But to know how that game actually ends you have to buy and read a book Shadows of Reach to know how Atriox gets back in the Milkyway galaxy for Halo Infinite. So there's no point in buying the games for their story at full price if the games ending is not even in the game itself you have to buy a book on top of the games full price its horrible and lazy story telling. Bungie's stories are looked at a lot better than 343s stories because in Bungie's halos when you beat that game you get its true ending that is connected with the next game especially in the Legendary ending cutscenes also connect with the next game. 343s Legendary ending don't even connect with each of their games there's this empty hole or spot between each of their games bc their games ending is not the official ending of that games story and its makes 343s halo story so confusing for people because theres so much story left of that game since you have to buy and read a book separately to know how that game ends and well caught up for the next game's story.

Its interesting to see that Microsoft hadn't done a multiple studio/spinoff approach to their IPs in a long while, especially Halo. They did tried to do that during the weird Window 8 era with their top down Halo game, and the last spinoff Halo game being Halo Wars 2. But aside from that, they didn't gave more studio to take a spin of the IP. If they know they don't have a decent studio under their wing to make a spinoff with a AAA budget, why not make an AA or indie Halo game? Like playing a marine, or exploring more as playing as the alien species (as they been neglected for years), anything really! Not everything need to have a 100+ million dollar budget for your IPs!

They have endeavored to not make any meaningful gameplay within the multiplayer, instead leaving it up to forgers to do it for them. Forgers annoy me to no end now too. I already won’t pay for another Halo without extensively watching it a month after launch. But after how theyve treated Infinite and if there’s no changes before then announcing a new game, I won’t even consider buying the new game.

I am getting to the point that i don't know what to say anymore. With the potential of 343 unlocking the community the ability to Mod Halo Infinite, i would actually be more worried for the next Halo game 343 makes. Because like you suggested in a previous video, what if Modders 'fix' the campaign and in a couple years its like a whole new game. It would not only make Microsoft and 343 look worse but expectations for the next game would be even higher. Which also makes me sad for the last 14 years of Halo. Halo not only has a dedicated fanbase but a talented one at that. So many that I don't know how Halo is where it is (other than poor leadership and management) but i feel like Halo has some of the biggest potential to be the best community game. Its just depressing that it feels like Microsoft is so out of touch of what they want to do with Halo.

Thanks. I thought his POV was fair and was a good listen. Hearing from top players like Lucid and yourself. It's just such a weird play to get it to a good place. Then just abandon full support. Battlefield 2042 did the exact same thing. The multiple studio/multiple games concept is good. You could have a Core game that has GTA or Fortnite longevity. But mix it up with spin off games that help generate interest in core and actually make money.

Unreal would be weiiiirrrd for Halo. The physics of everything has a very important place in the sandbox. That's why Halo is so different. I dont know if or how unreal could duplicate that element of Halo's physics and the weighty-ness of it all. Unreal has always had a really "loose and wobbly" feeling behind physics. At least what I've personally played.

For me, the pivotal moment was when they cancelled seasons. Season 5 had my hopes up. It seemed like everything was finally coming together, and then, all of a sudden they pulled the rug out from under us. I still begrudgingly persevered for some time, but now the new networking model doesn't register my shots at all (I'm outside of America), and the removal of daily match exp and Ultimate challenges means I have have a ridiculous grind to get the Operation armor. After I stuck with Infinite through the droughts of season 1 and 2, I'm finally done.

As ever, I completely agree with you... But another element to consider is the hardcore player base have been playing halo for years which give them a huge advantage over casual new comers... I find halo multiplayer really tough, so it must be awful for new players to be confronted with no-scopes, repulsor jumps etc... And, as so many old maps get recreated time and time again, they pander to existing veterans rather than new players. Is the existing halo fan base slowly devouring itself?
@NeatBenny7 ай бұрын
Gonna be honest here. Halo should have stopped when Bungie stopped. They truly caught lightning in a bottle and recreating it is very unlikely. Also I honestly wouldn't want a lot of spin off games. 343 is decent at making halo games but making a bunch of spin offs would oversaturate the game and it would probably fall off and people would just stick to playing MCC.
@geeman.80817 ай бұрын
It came around at the right time as well, I think Bungie would have struggled like 343 had they made Halo 4 instead, obviously not as badly, but they'd have still been launching in a market where it wasn't the top console shooter.

... Halo has been a part of my life for at least... 15 years now. It started on a whim, with help from my brother and cousin. Since then, I have become a fanatic for the franchise. Although I have not had the opportunity to play the newer games for the last decade, simply because the money to do just hasn't been there for varying reasons, Halo is still important to me. I still play any of games I can, whenever I'm in the mood. As well as the books. But as someone who loves this franchise, this phenomenon, dearly, and has spent... Ten. Years. watching it from the sidelines... My disappointment is immeasurable. All because of one, simple fact. The games are never finished on release, because the people who make them... Keep. Overestimating themselves. And, they bend to the will of an impersonal machine that does not care about anything other than money. Halo has just been a franchise chasing trends since 2010, instead standing by its own identity. Because who cares if a game is just like others of its genre? I care, you care, we care. I want Halo to be something fun again that we care about. Cause right now, it's not fun. It's just a community of squabbling. And I don't want to be a part of that... And I doubt you do either...

While I have enjoyed Infinite since launch (never have or will care about the store, either for good or bad). I do hope that Infinite represents the end of the old management's influences on the games. Let's see what the new management team can do when they make their own game. As far as other studios, I mean, would you trust EA or Activision with a Halo game? Probably not. I think ID software would be interesting (Makers of the Doom reboot) for a shooter. Or if they want to go a completely different direction, maybe let Capcom try a horror game. Honestly, though, I think you may have more trouble finding a studio willing to take on a Halo game, given the expectations that come with it.

As much as I dislike the newer CoD games, they sometimes pull off some great stuff via having multiple studios working on games at a time. Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch. Though, every single year hasn't been working. I feel like a good way to go is every OTHER year. Or even in Halo's case, possibly every 3 years, which is a lot better than the 6-8 we've been getting. Have 343 work on one, and another studio work on another. It could work. But much like you said, I don't even know what other studio could do it right.

I feel like vehicles having less impact is mainly due to the map... convention I guess of especially 343 maps where it isn't really that open, they're more path-y than not. And also them having tuned things to the point where vehicles are better used as weapons where other than the heavy hitters should be more like support or mobility or utility first in a way? Like in CE, I never really gunned for the banshee because of its firepower but for its maneuverability but thats just me

I'm Brazilian, rarely do I get a match with less than 150ms ping, and it's practically impossible to play. Weapons have no effect, enemies require 3 or 4 hits from the energy hammer to be eliminated, things like that. Today, I'm practically abandoning Halo's multiplayer after almost 20 years of playing the games. The multiplayer mode of Halo Infinite today, in Latin America, is completely unplayable, a COMPLETE neglect indeed. What's most infuriating is that we in Brazil pay the highest prices for games and battle passes, and yet we are completely neglected.

halo doesn't innovate because i feel that the people behind it are not gamers. bungie was a bunch of gamers hanging out making a game, with fun and a party aspect being the primary focus. we had 343 say that halo was only a MLG game, so yeah, we are only getting competitive modes and gameplay. the campaign wasn't very fun either. no epic moments. compare this to destiny, the latest trailer they just said " fuck it" and now every power is combined and it looks awesome gameplay wise. a real treat to the players. its still the fun mindset. but also look at hell divers or battlebit. they have focused on fun and became wild successes. we are now playing corporate halo.

In all honesty, I feel like 343 doesn't listen to the fan base, yes they do put features we ask for, but in other ways, they don't listen, like prices in the exchange crazy, how much "FREE" items are, and with the passes we complained about to much filler. Hence, they took out everything and essentially just put a different type of filler instead of planning the pass out better and not act butt hurt we didn't like their emblems.
