Back in mid Jan I visited 343i to donate a flood infected Firefall helmet made by our prop guys from November Black Productions. I met up with one of the leads there. And I can see the entire building was very busy like all hands on deck, everyone tasked out. And after I tour. The manager went right back to another meeting. Idk what they are doing but it's Definitely something big.

@gruntledabhored I use to do security for Microsoft years ago. And got to see some cool spots, and I have been to 343i a few times. Usually the building is empty unless your needed at the building. This time it was tons of people coming and going. I was in the waiting room where they displayed the Atriox suit from the live action Halo wars 2 ad. And it was very busy day. No idea what they were doing. But I got the feeling it wasn't related to halo infinite.

I’d rather they focus on the campaign this time around. The more they focus on the monotonous stereotypical multiplayer that’s just like any other game, the less they focus on what makes Halo, Halo instead of just an online shooter with micro transactions, battle passes, cosmetics, etc. (just copying Fortnite, Pubg, Warzone, etc…)

Pierre Hintze, was promoted to 343 head 2 years ago, which lines up with your idea for when Halo 7 started production. I truly believe he felt the game was good, but not good enough to be sustainable compared to the classic games like with MCC thus he began work on the next game.

Lol no. This wasn't even a thought process until mid to late last year, and they ramped it up toward the start of this year with the idea. This is strictly due to Microsoft's vision for the future of gaming, this isn't even a mainline Halo experience, and it won't even have multiplayer. From what I personally know, it's a single player narrative experience related to the lore of the series, and the Microsoft/Xbox platform will be getting one of the same from a different developer. Consoles are slowly moving to third party, and although Halo's next mainline entry isn't worked on yet, there's a greater chance that this will bridge that gap.

One thing the Halo 7 game absolutely needs is a level with really dumb AI that zerg rush or Flood rush the player, with no vehicles or grappling hook, and then every other level can be compared to that mission in a positive light. Then there can be a level where the enemies all use grappling hooks, along with your allies, like the jetpack segment in Halo Reach. There also needs to be more alien vehicles and aircraft, and there needs to be an actual functioning forklift. Oh, and the allies need to have their pilot's licenses back.

I never even managed to get the marines in Ghosts, so was surprised when I saw videos of that happening. It could have been a sandbox rivalling Halo 3's Storm, Covenant or Ark missions, but nope.

My bigger question is how incredibly messed up Infinite has to be that they are working on a new game, despite Infinite having a supposed 10 year plan. I always had the suspicion that Infinite is technically unstable with constant delays, update gaps and the fact that a large part of this game was made by hired thirdparties, who after leaving the project had their work grafted into the game without anyone capable of comprehending it.

I agree with you but I also don't here's why. I'm very skeptical about it all. Not even just because of 343's track record. There are way to many factors at play here. 1 new management and staff, in order to make something coherent the teams must also be that way. That's one big reason games always used to slap, the companies that made games back then didn't change staff/leadership like that all the time. Granted new 343 has had a bit of time to get used to each other, but the base games code is the most crucial thing moving forward, every piece of the puzzle has to fit perfectly. 2 the people that have been working on infinite are going to have a harder time adjusting to unreal just due to muscle memory, getting confused between the 2 engines frequently, which also ties into the base code thing. 3 Unreal is VERY different then Blam and Splispace, they literally have to figure out how to make Halo work all over again, values of things don't even work the same between Unreal and Blam for the most part. 4 Microsoft is now watching 343 like a hawk, making sure they don't screw up the smallest of things since at this point 343 is just a money pit with barley any profit. So I'd expect major delays within 343's own deadlines. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. They need to put 100% effort into all of these things. With that being said I really don't see Halo 7 coming out until 2027, being as late as 2029. I do really hope they manage to pull it off, but there are a lot of factors against them here at the same time. They do also have a lot going for them. It's honestly a really big 50/50 shot at Halo 7 being great.

Honestly if they're able to make a Omega Halo Ring with different biomes for free roam gameplay and raids on them to earn cosmetics and other rewards would be kind of cool. Hope they get rid of the core system in the next game cause it's a dumb way to get around for them to earn money cause people will favor one core out of the others, having less accessories on a player's favorite armor core is a shame. AND Hope they wont lie to us like they did multiple times about Halo Infinite.

Here are my expectations for Halo 7 1) Have Atriox return as the main antagonist 2) Don’t have the “Weapon” resemble too much of Cortana, just give her a personality of her own 3) Give the Arbiter a good reunion with Master Chief and make his armor silver not copper 4) Halo 4 and 5 may not have been so great however I did like some of the additional vehicles like the Mantis so I would love to see that again 5) Say what you want about the Promethians but I also thought they were cool and they deserve improvements 6) Have us save characters like Buck, Lasky, and don’t forget the marines 7) Send a good cap off for John’s story he’s through too much

I'm making a ODST Halo game and I'm asking Halo content creators for their ideas before you give me any or don't here's what's in the game already. Pilotable UNSC ships A Space Battle Mode where you drive the UNCS ships against players driving covenant ships. The Flood. The Didact (maybe) DLC Completely New Weapons A bunch of new equipment Around like 20 somethin skulls Req Packs again. I loved them Playable Elites, Grunts, Jackals, Brutes, sentinals, flood spore, any flood unit, Prometheans New Ranks New Game Modes New Armor You can edit campaign marines and make them look how you want them You can upgrade weapons Weapon attachments (also maybe) 20 missions without the DLC and 30+ extra missions with the DLC Open World Between 2553-2562 More but I want your thoughts first like if it is too much or if it's good but just needs to be polished. If you see this thank you for your time. (EDIT) I forgot the only paying really is for the game and maybe a few things but most stuff is by grinding. Each rank if finished gives you things like Bronze, you get Spartan Buck Set.

I personally loved the Infinite campaign. My only complaint was the lack of the UNSC presence, but that’s kind of understandable given the story. The new Cortana to me was great. I liked her a lot, and how she brought a completely new dynamic relationship with Master Chief. I would love to see that story continue, and this time with the UNSC back in the story.

Also I want a different multiplayer setting in the matchmaking playlist. And here's my ideas for 2 playlists, legendary playlist and Laso playlist. Those 2 playlists can add 4 games each, Capture the flag, King of the hill, big team slayer and swat. And as for the Laso playlist it gets more difficult when all skulls are activated. That way it's fair game for all players.

Lost hope when 343 let infinite release as is. Unfortunately it didn't play like the previous titles. I know they were trying a ton of new things with the engine and that I can look over especially with an open world concept, however theve been talking that same point since halo 3/4 era. Looking for someone with a minimum of 6 years of experience isn't enough in any proffesion imo. 10 should be the minimum and in a failing industry I'd think it be pretty easy to find someone with that basic credential, but I digress, I remeber when they were talking about Infinite being around for 10+ years with additional levels being added as dlc, possibly even a new game, I guess that idea was scrapped, now obviously that was a terrible idea but if you believe that lie it must be dissappiointing if you dont even get half that time in their (assuming a release of 2025). All in all they've left it open story wise that they can take it anywhere they want in this "open world" or galaxy. Unfortunately the writers should be tested imo. Example run some games within the franchise opening it up. Playing through the sanghelios Civil War would be a great spin off, open it up to playing as a new up and coming officer under the arbiter for example. Open up the planet Reach as rebuilding after the glassing would be interesting let the insurrection be the main targets. Play as an odst or even a halo wars type game. New gravemind story would be pretty cool given their spread it shouldn't be a surprise a new one is out there. Bring in some spartan 3s or 4s Open up a spartan 5 program where you play as a noble 6 figure, as you progress you can build out a load out, gear, etc. Taking on small armies withing human controlled space. All would be better than halo 7 at this point. Give the Chief a rest, all that "humanity" within him was a terrible story arc including a crying pilot and and immature AI. Made him seem like an old babysitter instead of humanity's last chance at survival.

I think infinite was setting up a new story. The open world aspect is new and needs development. But the mechanics are sound. Both infinite and halo 2 remastered showed the potential of Microsoft’s graphic capabilities and much more. Halo 7 may flop but I personally think they’ve set the game up for potential success.

I think tatanka is still going to be released. Even if it’s late, the mode has gotten a lot of attention and will be highly anticipated if it was released. Don’t think 343i would fumble that bag.

Its an amazing tool to get into and easy to play around with, but if you going for an AAA development scale, its piece of work, doesnt matter what engine. Also you need to know how to code.

I do feel compelled to point out there are also more advantages and disadvantages with swapping to unreal engine like it seems they are. Unreal engine is a popular engine mainly because it looks really good, industry insiders constantly debate on if unreal is actually a good engine for programming, because there are easier or more complex alternatives available. But from a player point of view, it looks nice, and most players don't think beyond that, which is fine. Swapping to unreal could also be an issue for existing staff if they have had more experience using blame/slipspace, however, overall unreal is more accessible as it is open source and available to everyone. Then the biggest upside to unreal is that it has been heavily tested and improved with decades of mistakes. The slipspace engine caused any update or change to take months instead of weeks, this technical debt won't be as much of a problem ideally with unreal. We may also see as a consequence, for better or worse, the next halo game not being free to play, as 343 would now have to pay licencing usage, which I might be wrong, but I think is based off of installs instead of being one big lump sum. Microsoft seems to be very tight when it comes to money, especially recently so Microsoft will probably lean towards a AAA entry point to cover the cost of the licence. A licence that wouldn't need to be payed if they stuck with the slipspace engine.

My advice would be to go linear again, traditional missions with cool cutscenes and different locations and biomes etc, I thoroughly enjoyed the Halo Infinite campaign but the problem with its open world is replayability, my initial playthrough I gave it a 9/10, since then I have found it near impossible to find that same level of enjoyment plus the co-op is awful whereas im still playing Combat Evolved co-op with friends and having an absolute BLAST! Keep it traditional. It was ambitious going open world and I applaud the effort but traditional is better, that's my 2 cents 😎👍

Love to ponder this stuff, so if Halo Wars 3 gets announced and released later this year or early 25 (let's just say they've kept it under wraps the whole time). Would people be happy to get a new story or kind of let down that it's not a new, more traditional Halo game? Also, if this is a new FPS, would people be okay with a smaller in scale game like an ODST that might just be a campaign and 1 additional bigger mode like FF or a BR if it meant a faster turn around. It's always super interesting to wonder what could happen and what would the reaction be.

I always come back to Halo because of the story. Im OG since 2001 and I care about these characters. Although I enjoyed Infinites campaign, I’m concerned about 7. Honestly infinite feels like 7 because there’s so much missing between Guardians and Infinite. Yes, I know there’s books and back story during the game, but I wanted to play through that. Please gives us a game that takes place RIGHT after Infinite.

Halo was once innovating on the first person shooter genre. I really enjoyed Halo infinite for a few months but I wish they would innovate a bit more. Im actually very surprised they are making halo 7........ Are there that many fans?

I’m going to be entirely honest, my allegiance is to Halo. I love the series it has been one of the greatest things in my life, I will always show up for a new game or any other kind of media (except for the TV show because it has nothing to do with Halo). One day they’ll get it right. They released Halo Wars 2 which was awesome even after Halo 5. There’s no getting off of Halo for me. All I can do is pray it’ll be good.

idk if i like the idea of halo on unreal engine or not, just cause for modding purposes it is nice for the games to be on the same engine and also idk blam engine just feels like halos engine idk how to describe it, i feel like a different engine could cause slight differences that we arent used to in gameplay terms too
