​@@scatman786 I think they are (at least in a good playthrough, don't know if it changes on evil playthrough). Like everybody was kinda worry / sad for gale after the encounter with elmister. Same goes after Lae'zel quest at the creche, and you're still basically in act 1, where companions reaction can still be mild. But for example like everybody went crazy protective and supportive for Shadowheart after the gauntel of Shar and for Astarion after he discovers about his scars in act 2. I don't know if this dinamyc is linked to player good choices or tav amount of approval with other companions. Like I genuinely wonder if they would care for a companion who has a neutral relationship with tav.

In Minthara's defense, she was genuinely not in control of her actions. If you release her from the Absolute's control in a playthrough where you've also helped her slaughter the Grove, she's horrified to learn what she's done, and depending on the reason you give, she's disgusted with the player as well.

A huge staple of her character is that she is ruthless and can be very cruel, but never for the sake of it - something she lectures durge on when you confide in her about it. "I do not have violent urges, I have violent intentions." And something about how if someone raises a sword against her, she cuts them down specifically so that they can't be a threat again, not because she is mindless but because it's a calculated/strategic thing.

Mostly Laezel, I don't know why, we with my friend spend a lot of time trying to load game for different options, but I think randomize working from starting act 3, and we have no interest repeat 20% storyline. No fucking way.

Most often, Halsin or the redhaired NPC girl (Yenna? or whatever her name is) get kidnapped. Makes sense, Halsin's personal questline ended in Act 2. Romanced companions never get kidnapped AFAIK. Companions in your active party don't get kidnapped, only those in camp. Astarion never seems to get kidnapped, presumably because it would play havock with his personal storyline with the vampire spawn and Cazador in Act 3, and Larian didn't want to give players incentive to kill Cazador without Astarion present (which robs Astarion of his chance of closure). (As players often postpone the rescue to near the end of Act 3 because it means killing Orin, and if Orin and Gortash both die, and Ketheric already died in Act 2, then the Endgame battle timer begins, which would mean very limited time and long rests left to finish the other Act 3 plotlines and quests.) Meaning you can pretty much "force" the game to have Orin capture Yenna.

@@Marxist1917 In my experience, Lae'zel is always the priority for the kidnapping. If she's not available (romanced or in party) Gale gets taken instead, then Halsin/Minthara (no idea who's picked first if both are recruited) and finally Yenna if all other options are unavailable.

In one playthrough I used the kidnapping as an excuse to get him out of the party. I didn't want to recruit him but still wanted to remove the shadowcurse, and apparently doing so forces him to join by the end of the act even if you say no during the quest.

As far as I can tell from my playthroughs the kidnapping has a fixed order. Lae'zel will always be kidnapped unless she's romanced or in your party at the time.

Never got her kidnapped before, but I expect she'd be livid if you killed Gortash to save her, puely because Orin is an enemy and you do NOT submit to an enemy's demands. Back home, that's an open invite for future blackmail. It means you can be controlled easily.

For some reason he didn't react on Minthara's kidnapping, but my theory is, this is because during that Orin masquerading as Minthara's scene she said she killed Wyll for self defense and showed us a body that was supposed to be him covered in a blanket, my guess is, during the development they have a consideration on actually killing Wyll during that scene just like Lae'zel killing Yenna for her own version of kidnapping, so they decided to record other companion reactions except Wyll, but later they scrapped the idea because Wyll is too important to kill for one night scene 😅 but then they forgot to ask Theo Solomon to record Wyll's reaction to it again, just my guess though 😂 As for Halsin, I guess he's originally just simply wasn't supposed to be recruitable if you have Minthara in your party, so they didn't record his reaction to this too.

​@@gewuerzwanze5627 I like your theory but I guess that probably is so early in the development, as you can see, Minthara has many reactions to Wyll such as if he decided to become a duke or blade of avernus, while also has an opinion on Wyll if you ask her about her thoughts on the companions, and in the epilogue she too will react if Wyll becoming a grand duke. Unlike Halsin, even when she got recruited during good playthrough with Halsin, she decided to destroy his camp and Halsin had to move away somewhere else 😂 But I remember watching a data mined video about Minthara & Halsin debating on each other with Tav just like that one scene with Wyll and Karlach, but they scrapped it for some reason.

Astarion never gets kidnapped, presumably because it would play havock with his personal storyline with the vampire spawn and Cazador in Act 3, and Larian didn't want to give thoughtless players even more excuses to kill Cazador without Astarion present (which robs Astarion of his chance of closure). Most often, Halsin or the redhaired NPC girl (Yenna? or whatever her name is) get kidnapped. Makes sense, Halsin's personal questline ended in Act 2. Romanced companions also never get kidnapped. Companions in your active party don't get kidnapped, only those in camp. Meaning if you allowed Yenna to join your camp, you can force the game to pick Yenna as Orin's victim by taking the others companions who are "at risk" into your party prior to the long rest that triggers Orin's scene.

@@TF2CrunchyFrog Astarion can get kidnapped - just not by Orin. Which admittedly isn't clear in my initial comment. If you don't "kill" his siblings before they get his health down low enough they haul him off to the crimson palace. It leads to an additional cutscene between him and Godey as well where he has to try and escape from being subjugated by him. The whole thing seems to largely be an afterthought unfortunately. every sound Astarion makes during the cutscene is recycled from his "climbing ladders" and getting hit in combat SFX He then can just Waltz out of the palace without anyone inside the palace acknowledging what's happening And when he gets back to camp no one has any reaction to the event at all. It will even override their normal reactions to his siblings failing to kill him unfortunately. End result: Astarion is kidnapped and dragged off to be tortured by Godey, singlehandedly escaped. No one noticed and not a single fuck was given haha
