Remember the days when we used to go by Instinct...Intuition...Spider Sense while buying specific comic books. Now there's all kinds of "resource materials" involved.

Good stuff. That pricing looks spot on and very fair. The Machine Man issues are very often overlooked. Not too long ago, I found the complete mini-series, high grade, and got it for around 8 bucks. All 4 were also Mark Jewelers variants.

Most of them r $1 box fillers though. My comic book store sells all back issues for a $1 even seen a few here that's in the $+ bins

That was great James, a range of interesting comics and lots of practical advice. I think that having three resources to refer to makes a seller's prices very fair. I would add one more thing, which you briefly touched on at the end: if you pay very little for a comic, don't try to gouge the last cent out of the person you sell it to - selling it for say 85% of FMV will still get you a nice profit while creating trust and goodwill, and you can't put a monetary value on those.

Much appreciated when someone gives an appropriate grade and sells for a fair price. To often people sell their raw comics at or above FMV for a slab, but is not slabbed. Then that case I will just buy the slab, why risk it. When the deal is fair, it can be very much worth it.

Yeah, or they say “with a clean and press this is a 9.4”, and then they charge you the 9.4 price. Drives me crazy.

Honestly Key Collector seems way more ballpark-ey to me. I tend to use a combo of them and the covrprice aggregate, but even they are off since they weigh in SUPER heavy on most recent and dont take into account anomalous sales. Super good info man, thanks much!

I look at how often something sells on eBay too. Like that infinity inc book. Sure someone may have paid $8 and $15 but over what time period? A month? Several months? If those are the only two sales in over a month I consider it still a $2 book if I want to move it

Hey James. Nice one👍 Anyone - what comic book character would you ‘delete’ if you were able to go back in time and be sure that the creator of that character never actually thought it and hence, that character would not exist today? I was strangely thinking about it the other day when pondering through the character encyclopaedias for marvel and dc

Well my comic book store sells all back issues $1 each. Hundreds of long boxes. 4 $1 each. So that iron man comic would be $1 at my comic book store. I don't pay more than. $1 unless I can't find it and really want it. On books anymore. Comics u see on ebay 20-40 $1. If it's a minor key anf faded out or in bad shape it would be in $1 box as well. And that avengers with scarlet witch would be a $1 as well with the wizard behind her.

Love the channel. Must say, I would never pay anywhere near the prices set for Hawk and Dove. I guess there must be some diehard fans out there, because I just couldn't pull the trigger on that book for more than $8.00 - no matter what the grade was. Yes, I'm also a curmudgeon about Mark Jeweler "variants" and newsstand copies - advertising and UPC corner boxes are never going to make me pay more for a book.

keycollector is inaccurate if you ask me, by a lot. i think it represents what people "should be paying" for books BUT unfortunately, it seems like popular books actually go for 2-3x what keycollector says, in auctions. avengers 83 is a good example: on ebay its sold recently at 9.0 for about $300. So, keycollector isn't even considering what a 9.0 (or higher) book would be valued! Warp Elfquest1 is another good example: totally incorrect.
@acevedoe2 жыл бұрын
Key collector program prices are not based on value. It s a guideline on the price of the book on a good deal. They purpusely show prices 10% lower then value. Golden age guru said it in a youtube video last year.
@MintHunterComics2 жыл бұрын
Problem is it's wayyyyyy under 10 percent. Green lantern 39 (1st Larfleeze) sells for $20-35 in high grade raw, and they and many many many other GL keys they just list at $3 LOL! they're way off
