Removing the paint and rust off this 1971 ford bronco prior to it being restored. This video gives a good look at a more difficult car to strip. I went into a little more detail on this video. I hope you all enjoy!

Things to possibly add. Maybe total hours in each tank. Before and after close up shots of problem areas. Basic dip cost per project. Honestly there isn't much you could add.

I'd love to do that to my '69 Bronco. These videos are amazing to watch. One slight change I'd like to see is a switch to landscape orientation of the video. I think it would show off the results better.

This is an amazing series of videos, I just started watching them a week ago, but find it more interesting than I thought I would. How often do you have to clean out the dip tanks to remove the contaminants, or change the fluids from being broken down from doing there job eating paint and rust? I notice there are no doors, hoods, etc being dipped, do some owners send the whole car to be cleaned before restoring?

The nice thing about Bronco Metal is it’s all straight and easy to replace/weld. No crazy curves. And the metal panels are available almost everywhere.

Would be nice to see the under-body being cleaned. Your pricing structure. Other than that, good work! PS....How many former employees have been dipped & neutralized?? haha

In some cases it might make the strip go faster if you or the customer went over the major surfaces of the painted panels with 80 on a DA sander just to break the surface and allow the chemical stripper to get into the paint faster and easier. In my opinion tank stripping is the only way to start a proper full body restoration.

Plastic stand up to caustic substances pretty damned well though. They withstand caustic alkaline a tiny bit better than acid, but all in all withstand. The heat might be an issue though.

I know you like to skip the final dip and power wash in the paint stripping stage but that’s the most satisfying one. Seeing all that tough undercoating or filler finally blasted away. you should show it. That’s kinda the whole reason a lot of us watch these. If people don’t want to see it they can skip it.

What is the chemical substance used for the first, second, and third dipping?
@codename495

The first is paint remover ( caustic alkaline) the second is acid to remove rust. The third neutralizing solution to stop the caustic action of the first two so there is less of a chance of damage should some remain on the metal.
