To be fair, Pokemon are mostly just named after they sounds they make.
@EVOKE73474 жыл бұрын
Its design was based on large, prehistoric frogs, but the English version of its name used the suffix -saur (likely due to the pokemon's somewhat reptilian appearance). Also, in the original Japanese games, its name was "Fushigidane," from fushigi (meaning "strange") and tane (meaning "seed"), its name can also be interpreted as "Mysterious Seed" or as the phrase "Fushigi, da ne?" (meaning "Strange, isn't it?").

2:49 now hold on, it doesn’t necessarily have to discharge through water, if the animal could touch the attacker or prey then it wouldn’t matter that it lives out of water. For a matter of fact if it could jump off the ground, then the fact that air is such a bad conductor of electricity would prove to the shocker’s advantage, this way the electricity is more apt to travel through the victim rather than back through the shockers body to get to the ground (in this case, both meanings of a ‘ground’).

Aside from the bombardier beetle, there's another analogy I've heard being suggested. A snake's venom (or a komodo dragon's saliva) can also be described as giving a burning sensation. So the myth of dragons with a lizard- or snake-like body, might also be a potential origin for the dragonfire myth. So... the same could be suggested for Charmander and other fire-pokemons.

I feel like an animal could evolve to manipulate spring-loaded plants if it were activated like a venus fly trap, since all you'd need to do would have limbs that could reach wherever the plant is (in this case, the back) and activate the plant. Ofc, it would have to be bipedal or an invertebrate, but still. Also, a land-dwelling animal that uses electricity could maybe (I say maybe, since it might require a voltage that's simply way too high for any animal to achieve) work by having skin that can electricute at around the voltage one of those electric shock prank things.

Humans are clearly the most realistic Pokémon since they're a perfect 1:1 match with humans from the real world.
@sidestorm2744 жыл бұрын
You could also consider bulbasaurs plant as a parasite making bulbasaur a bit more realistic.

I just can’t get over when people add an S to Pokémon and/or their names to make them plural. It’s just not how Pokémon work.
@MinuteEarth3 жыл бұрын
I debated whether or not to add an -s to the plural of the actual Pokémon names and decided to do so because while the singular plural is more common, the plural with an -s has been used officially in the past and I felt it added a bit more clarity to the video that I was talking about them as a species rather than a singular character. That being said I made sure to not add an -s to the plural for Pokémon since it’s already a plural short for “pocket monsters.”

There’s things called fire salamanders, they can literally walk into fire and survive, so possibly charchar?
@jaschabull23654 жыл бұрын
Aren't they actually called that because they live in logs, so when people put logs into the fire they see them "come out of the fire" when they desperately crawl away when their log gets ignited?

0:13 *the 4 starter pokemon* Eevee: Am I a joke to you? ;-;
@videakias30004 жыл бұрын
the pokemon eevee looks totally plausible to me. appearance-wise it does look like a regular animal and most of its moves don't look like something that a regular animal can't do. normal types in general tend to resemble animals the best.

I have my own explanation. To me, ever Pokémon is possible( except for most of the legendary ones). Charmander could evolve to make CH4 react with O2 or something like that. Squirtle could evolve the same properties as hydrogen fuel cells and therefore have an almost endless supply of water. Pikachu could have ions instead of electrons, so all it will need to do will be to create a charge imbalance in the air. Bulbasaur won’t have a real plant on its back, but would have body parts which look like plants.
@adamk54874 жыл бұрын
1. Many animals use plants as defensive gates or homes. 2. Charmander's flame "indicating health" is inconsistent in lore, and heavily debated.
