Like imagine what you like doing so much, and so much more, you were so focused into that, you completely ignore the surroundings of your point of view. i stopped gaming when i was 16 years old. i was fine at first but i started to have withdrawal systems. I felt giddy at times and even un-content with myself. Felt like i was wasting, had difficulty staying awake even when i slept a full 7-9 hours of sleep. So i turned to drugs, thanks to drugs i am no longer addicted gaming. I used to be a chronic gamer when i was in my youth. I'd spend hours at a time on my SNES, at friend's houses on their sega genesis & playstation. I'd go out to the arcade at the mall & spend damn near all of my money there. Sometimes i wouldnt even eat due to putting all of my coins into the machine. I'm a deep gamer on my ps4, playing Destiny2 all night, all day an night. No sleep for 48 hours+. I've like this for 4 years. I'm gonna be 28, I live with one of my parents, I take Valium pills for Anxiety an I use it to not get an epileptic seizure from gaming too much. I've been taking pills as long as I have been gaming intensely. I don't have a job, vehicle and I don't have my permit or license. I'm very spoiled because I don't take action into changing my life. I used to be active an fit until early October 2020. I sprained my ankle, an there i was laying in bed for months getting fat. Not working out anymore. I recently go outside and do some jump ropes to strengthen my body but after I'm done I usually spend two hours sitting down looking at my phone on KZbin. Wasting my life just like a video game addiction. Smartphones is very Reliant since you don't have to do anything. I feel it even reads your mind. You could be thinking of something randomly and it pops up on your phone. Weird. I watch this video and makes me really want to change my life but I put so much time money and effort to my video gaming platform. I just can't get the courage to get rid of it. I have no friends, no money an no respect for myself.. my hygiene is really bad, teeth wise. Self-esteem levels suck. Motivation out the window, and addiction Non-Stop. It hurts.

Hey man I also struggle with VD addiction. I constantly go through phases of relapse which is extremely difficult to do but it can be done. You can do it. Then you grow older and pass 18 and you become responsible for your own actions but that does not take away the fact that the parents did not give their child the attention they needed. I know they working hard for us but children would rather have parents who earned a bit less but gave their children attention. I respect parents.

I remember my first semester of uni there was this guy in my sociology course and he and I were good friends and would often play Halo and COD. I then noticed that after awhile he stopped coming to class. I stopped by his dorm and saw that he was playing Halo. I said to him that he missed class for two weeks what's going and he told me he just got caught up playing Halo. A month goes by and the professor knowing we were friends (perks of attending a small university) asked what was going on. I said I have no idea. Friend basically stopped attending classes altogether so he could game. By the end of term he was left with the choice to either flunk out or drop out. He dropped out and we still hung out but eventually he moved 18 hours away and stopped talking to everyone he met at university. Seeing this brought back memories of that and I truly hope he is okay.

That was one of my classmate during my diploma. He was good at classes until he discovered Pro Evolution Soccer. He would miss classes just to finish that Premier League season (he played as Liverpool). He intended to drop out of diploma, like, HE EVEN MISSES EXAMS. That was the 2nd semester. Never see him again from the 3rd semester onwards. Now he got a real job, that's the most important thing.

I am a big gamer myself. I absolutely love it. However I do get good grades in school as I always make room for that, I am in advanced courses, I do sports ( parkour, trampoline, cross country and basketball), I am an artist, and I am always outside. I also do stuff like build LEGO. However I always play games too. I usually play about one hour of PS4, half and hour of any other console I have ( I am a retro console and games collector who also has a PC and Switch) and I sometimes play DS. But yeah that is how I manage a healthy lifestyle alongside being a gamer

I once had fun playing online. After a few years, I realised how negative most of the other gamers were. I realised that I was like them to, then I started to analyse my current situation and why I was that much negative like the others. In the gamer language: Salty. The reason is we don't always get what we want like exemple: winning, having a certen tool or weapon, beign in a certain map or spot or area. overall, all the little stuff we can't get due to some certain circumstences. Despite the fact that a video has to be "fun", we don't get that much of that unless you drug yourself with weed or something to stimulate the "fun". The competition create a huge pressur on our shoulders, loosing make us want to play more and more until we get what we want. Sometimes, it never happen even if we spend days and weeks because video games are not perfect: they have bugs/glitches, they are programmed to not let a certain number achieving a certain goal... The fun you imagine while playing online is fake, it,s not real just like the video game you are addicted to. It doesn't bring you a single pride in the real world. If I'm wrong, it gives you at least a minimum, but the minimum is not enough to be happy in the current real world. All of this doesn't mean you have to stop video games, no! That is a wrong way to think because you LOVE video games just like me. You only have to focus your life on something else for a certain period. At the extreme situation, you don't even know the real feeling of pride. Here is a trick I have learned: good actions for your own self create order in your life, order make you more responsible, once you realise that you are enough responsible in your life and other people sees it, it create a certain trust in yourself, that trust in yourself makes you want to try something neq in your life. At this roght moment, you get your first experience of failure. The magic in this, is once you succed, you realise that in the meantime you were retrying to succed, you have developped skills. You become proud of yourself for what you realised and it is permanent: it becomes a part of yourself. In the other end, the pride you get in video games will never be permanent or a part of yourself. One last thing, the unstoppable will of playing video games is not truly unstoppable. Always remeber that.

Videogames are designed to be addicting, so I disagree. Yeah it's very easy to say "It's your fault, not the game!" and perhaps that's true, they invested time into the game, too much, just like the developers intended. Because they get addicted. Months pass and their real life achievements are non-existent. They've been leveling up in the virtual world but they have nothing in the real world. The thing about young men is they want status and they enjoy being competitive. Those are the two main things that games simulate. This is why men love them so much, they get the rewarding feeling of being competitive and having that high rank or that golden gun. This is why, objectively speaking, men would be better off without games. Because it would leave them only in the real world where their natural desire for status and competition can flourish and create an amazing and rewarding life for them.

Multiplayer games are highly simulating but not enjoyable at all, but since they're so addictive, people keep coming back for more and more and more. Before you know it they've spent 3 years playing that game every day with no fond memories of that experience. Quite literally a huge waste of their finite time.
