@@shaniareason85 In John 1:1, the literal Greek reads "In beginning was the Word" (the King James Bible says "In [the] beginning was the Word") when the definitely article "the" is absent in the Greek, it is not referring to a definite time like the creation of our world but rather the most remote eternity that the human mind cannot conceive; before all creation, the Word or Jesus before he became man existed. The same verse continues to say, "and the Word was with God," showing that in the most remote eternity, there was never a time that the Word or Jesus was not with the Father/God. Then the verse ends by saying, "Indeed, the Word or Jesus was God," showing that Jesus, before he became a man, shared the divine nature or Godhead with the Father. In verse 14 of John 1, it says the Word or Jesus "was made flesh and dwelt among us." When this occurred, Jesus became the Son of God (as foretold by the angel in Matthew 1:35, ...that holy thing which shall be born of thee "shall be called the Son of God"), and in his capacity as a man, he indeed prayed to God, his Father. The Perry’s podcast with this unknown brother’s questionable book, needed to be addressed and challenged and you’ve done so eloquently. I would advise you to go back to the SDA Church my sister and study more deeply, then you will find that is the Remnant Church. I also left the church 26 years ago but I went back four years ago. I very much agree with the sentiments of the other two who replied to you previously. One day we all have to stand before the LORD God Almighty. We need to obey God at all times, He will help you, so by God's good grace He will save all those who love Him and rely on Him. He will come and save you my sister. Go back to God, obey His commands. Jesus says, if you love me, keep my commandments. Love kept Jesus on the cruel cross. Look at the cross, look at Gethsemane and see the suffering Christ. He did it for me! He did it for you! Look to Jesus and be saved.

@@Sabbath7thdaySaturday Nope that's not true the two are not the same ten commandments and the whole "law" was a yoke a burden to the house of Israel and the love commandment also known as law of liberty or Royal law is way different from the ten commandments. 2corinthians 3:6-8 calls it the ministration of death engraved in stones scriptures go on to call the old covenant the ministry of condemnation now this cannot be about love at all. Acts 15:5-10 when Jewish converts insisted that Gentiles be circumcised and keep the law of Moses the apostles response was amazing they said "Why put a yoke which we and our forefathers could not bear on the shoulders of the Gentiles" Again even the Jews were struggling with keeping the law yet you guys are still clinging to the law. Jesus said "come unto me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you REST" who was heavy laden? The Jews. He went on to say"Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly at heart and your souls will find rest" the old covenant which included the ten commandments was a burden a yoke to them. Hebrews say this about the old covenant Hebrews 8:7 For if the first covenant was faultless a need for a new covenant would not have been sought" .

i think a simple google search of major cults immediately brings up SDA. And there are major doctrinal issues with your beliefs - annihilations, investigative judgement, mark of the beast, Ellen G. White, …the list is too long. Granted that guy may not have gone deep to doctrinal issues but that doesn't mean he was wrong about the movement. Honestly you were arguing semantics on being called a cult. Also my understanding of the canonicity of scripture is that new testament in particular was written by eye witnesses of Christ in the life of other eye witnesses. To elevated Ellen G. Whites writing to standard of scripture is nothing but cultish. and to call Christ the Archangel Michael is to blaspheme, to say that hell is not eternal is to call Christ a liar - He is the one who teaches about hell more than anything, if souls sleep - why is Lazarus alive in the parable while the rich man's brothers are still alive in the earth. Why do SDAs refer to other Christians as "Apostate"? An apostate is worse than a cult for someone can be in a cult and still be a Christian, but one cannot be an apostate and be a Christian. Apostate means to have left the faith and willfully turning against Christ.

What I know as a biblical teacher within the SDA church is that we view all the christians from different denominations as brothers and sisters in the faith. We had a whole quarterly sabbatschool on this theme, some long time ago. We also view that in revelation it is spoken of 2 Women. Scriptures shows us a Women symbolizes the church. In revelation we see 2 types of Women depicted. One women symbolizes the church of Christ. The bride of Christ, pure, clothed with white, who stands on the Old and New testament. Covered with the 12 stars who symbolizes the 12 disciples. We also see in revelation another women depicted who is seated on a dragon. Decked in red gold and drinks wine etc. Who whores with the others. Mixing truth and error. The Roman Catholic church qualifies as that Babylon system which whores with all the other churches as she acts as the Mother church. We believe that there is going to be 2 shaking at the end of time. One in the church of God and one in all these churches. We believe that Gods children are scattered in all christian churches. So, we believe that Gods true worshippers are all out there. We believe that before Jesus comes, God is going to unite all the true worshippers in one fold. As we believe there will come a true revival and reformation in combination with the Holy spirit moviing on people causing the latter rain. In terms of '' apostate. You will have to give me a quote or something. What I do know is that the majority of christian have drunk from the cup of truth and error. So, doctrines have crept in that are not biblical. Like: 1. Once saved always saved. 2. The speaking in tongues *Glossolalia. 3. The doctrine that the soul is eternal. 4. That when you die you go straight to heaven or hell or to a purgatory. 5. Praying to the dead saints or Mary. 6. Mary veneration or that she is Co-mediator alongside Christ. 6. Sunday sabbath worship. 7. Eternal Punishing in Hell. 8. Confession to Priests. 9. The rapture. 10. The notion that the scriptures is not enough. That one needs to add te church's authority, the church fathers and that the apostles are more prominent in interpretations instead of following the word of God and Jesus alone. Allot of false doctrines are circulating throughout vast numbers of christian churches. These are just some examples. Hope this helps . We believe that God will unite the true worshippers under one fold and prepare them for the last hours of earths history awaiting the second coming of Jesus. God bless

Of course there is one exception. The sabbath Day. The Jews were given Saturday as the Holy Sabbath. However, when Jesus died and was resurrected on the FIRST DAY UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, SUNDAY BECAME THE NEW SABBATH DAY FOR THE GENTILES. Y’all are not Jewish, right… so you should not hang an entire belief in a religion on a Jewish sabbath day. The Sabbath Day is very important, but our Salvation doesn’t begin there and end there. Thank you so much for this session. I’ve learned more how to respond to people who call SDA a cult. I need prayer to be able to express what I know. I’ve never good with being able to express what’s in my mind. Can express my love for Jesus and His love for others because it comes from my heart, but fail to express what I know and learn clearly. I can point someone to what I’ve read or heard but have a very hard time expressing it directly from my mind. SDAs are not the remnant. There are so many people of God who are sealed with the Holy Spirit that are not SDA. Will they be left behind simply because they aren't a part of the "true" demonation? SDA is simply a denomination. *By the way, I was raised SDA, went to Andrews.* The SDA mindset, that we have the truth and we are the remnant, is so exclusive, and it's wrong. The people of God, the remnant, are those who have accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts, are filled with the Holy Spirit, and bearing the fruit. Reading the Bible set me free from this mindset. The 28 Laws (or however many) is nothing when you can get the truth straight from the Word.

Why should having the testimony of Jesus Christ in the last part of Revelation 12: 17 not refer to those who believe in Jesus Christ" as opposed to the spirit of prophecy. Sister White has a role to play in the church but I find it difficult to fit her role in Revelation 12: 17. She also says she is a lesser light but could it be that we have elevated her work beyond what was intended?

I think people have elevated her not the denomination. We had a friend who knew and could quote all of Ellen G White words but didn't know any scriptures by hard accept the 4th commandment. He's no longer a SDA.

Just recently I have become a 7th day Adventist and I know that it is the true remnant church in these last days. Because we are living in the last days it is very important to put on the Full Armor of God Ephesians 6:10 KJV Of the Bible, to protect us from the powers and the principalities of the air. Because we are not fighting against the physical powers of flesh and blood but against unseen powers that are spiritual so when it comes to God's seal or mark of authority it is his Sabbath rest day which is the last day of the week, Saturday and then you have the adversary the devil who has change that day from Saturday to Sunday. Because satan hates God and wants worship. Satan wants everybody to bow down to him and worship him because Satan hates God and that satan and his angels also known as demons will deceive and cause most people to worship the beast. Very few people will stay on that straight and narrow path that leads to salvation. What I mean by the straight and narrow path. Is there is only 1 truth 1 way to God? One right way of believing and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is the Son of God and is God Almighty, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, The I AM, The Creator of the Heaven's and Earth. God Almighty deserves our worship and by worshipping we need to honor the Sabbath Day which is the fourth commandment. The 7th day in Genesis. It's right from the very first book of the Bible and God rested on the 7th day and he deserves our respect. Here is wisdom let him that has understanding count the number of the beast for it is the number of a man and his number is 6 hundred threescore and six. "The title of the Pope of Rome is Vicarius Fillii Dei" (English translation Vicar of the Son of God). In order to properly add up the number of the letters you must use the Roman numeral values. V=5, I=1, C=100, A=0, R=0, I=1, U=5*, S=0 Add these numbers up and totals 112 , F equal 0 I equals 1L equals 50 I equals one IE equals 1 which totals out to be 53, D equals 500. E equals 0, I equals one which totals out to be 501 you total up 112 + 53 + 501. And that equals out to be 666.

I heard you read Jude 1:9 and it says ”But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”“ ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭ When you read that it said Christ! Are we reading the same verse? I went to a SDA church because I was invited and it was good I was clapping and singing along until they started to sing a song and the lyrics went along the lines of “Oh Sabbath Day” I was like wait a minute…I worship the Lord God and him only yes the day is blessed but we know from scripture that the rest Hebrew speaks of is Christ himself. This is why Christ rebuked them when he healed the man’s hand on a sabbath day. Two commands I leave you Love God, Love people. I love all of you not here to argue I am a just pointing out my experience it’s not above truth though God sent his son to die to for the world and whoever should receive him will be saved.

I think people believe SDA is a cult for a few reasons. 1) the devotion to Ellen White and her teachings. 2) the root of false prophecy (the great disappointment) then the switch up to saying Christ is now in the holiest place. (This is not in the Bible) 3) the belief that worshipping God outside of Saturday is the mark of the beast. (Again, that is not in the Bible) I personally rest from work on Saturdays, for the most part, and I worship God everyday. Keeping the Sabbath is a good thing! But to say that breaking this particular law is a salvation deal breaker is totally unbiblical.

Jude 9 doesn't say the angel Michael resurrected Mose but disputed about his body. It also said he just defeated Satan by saying "The LORD rebuke you" If he was Jesus, he would have said " I rebuke you." It's hard to see when you are deceived. Please study the origin of your church. Many true believers have joined because of a lack of knowledge, but it's time to wake up. Sunday worship is not the " mark of the beast". If you believe that, you will accept the true mark out of ignorance and lose your soul...

Its a cult. You need to believe EGW's interpretations of scripture to be SDA but many SDA's do not so they don't even realize her writings are infused into everything. She contradicts the bible. Hebrews says Christ entered the most holy place when he rose to heaven and paid the price for sin for all time and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty of the throne of grace where he is waiting for all his enemies to be made his footstool, but EGW said he entered the most holy place in 1844 where he began investigative judgment of professing believers she even claimed that the door had shut at one time meaning no new names could be added to the judgment. Paul tells us that the only TRUE gospel is the one he and the apostles taught and anything else is a curse. The 3rd Angel will proclaim this gospel all over the world and nothing else. Ask yourself honestly if what EGW says line up with the gospel of the bible. Will you need to stand in judgement without a mediator or do all who have the son have life? Do we need to be perfect on earth to prove ourselves worthy of heaven or does the bible say that if i could gain salvation through the law Christ died for nothing? Will eating meat and using condiments on my food stop me from going to heaven? Etc.

This is a ridiculous analysis since in the videos I have watched have only had the accusers but not the defendants. This is persecution not analysis. To have an analysis we need to have both sides represented and have a chance to present their case. I was extremely disappointed to see Preston offer this insufficient analysis of the situation. No true comparison nor substantiated evaluation wass presented. The episode I saw was presented by offering the presentations of a gentleman who built a biased case against SDA using conjecture and half-stepping analysis of statements from Ellen White and other insufficient inaccurate accusations. It was reminiscent of the times where people can say anything about other without ANY substantive evidence or truths. Sorry to see the church focused on doing the job of the satan and disqualifying Christians as valid followers of Jesus. I am saddened to see the Protestant church disqualifying each other based upon insufficient understanding ot representation of the Word of God.

I’ve given people opportunities to prove the Sabbath to be wrong & to prove that Jesus isn’t who He said He is & they have failed miserably. When I hear someone a pastor saying a sect of Christianity is the "one-true church" I run! where in the word does it says ANY sect is the one-true church?
