AWESOME!!! 🔥🔥 Hey - I just noticed that are actually *two modes* that we can set the *buttons* to when configuring the controller with the Novation software. We can choose TOGGLE or MOMENTARY - meaning toggle will HOLD DOWN THE BUTTON in the "off" position - useful for MUTING TRACKS on a mixer - otherwise, the MOMENTARY only sends a momentary signal, it does not KEEP THEM OFF (muted) - I hope that makes sense! It's easy to set up different templates in the Launch Control XL, so you could have a few different ones for different needs, etc. GOOD LUCK!!!! 👍👍👍
@spidericemidasiosmusicprod13095 жыл бұрын
Electronisounds Audio Yeah! You mean like a straight on/off switch and also one where it is only on or off for as long as you hold down the button? Sort of like holding something down to mute it for a moment, and then letting go to drop it back into the mix? XL controller arrived today! “Hello, Baby...how you doin? (in my best Joe accent) How’s about you and me slip off somewhere quiet for some reconfiguration, and then we’ll get really hands on, waddya say, eh?” 😜

Hi, nice one! What's the Behringer controller model you showed?
@ElectronisoundsAudio10 ай бұрын
Hey Hey! the Behringer controllers here are from their CMD line, but they are so old (they were old even when I made this video) and there are really much better choices now. I still really like the Novation Launch Control XL - it's totally customizable, and I'm still using it over 4 years after this video was made. 😁🙏👊

i am trying to send one LFO to different midi channels in my MC707 so for instance, i could have one LFO assigned to the same perameter on all 8 channels. Do you have an miRack video on how to do something like assign multiple channels? You rock, Dean!
@ElectronisoundsAudio Жыл бұрын
Yo! Thanks for watching! 😁👊 I don't have any videos on that, but I think you could maybe achieve it by routing the same LFO from mirack to multiple midi outputs (might need multiple midi output modules, not really sure...?) to talk to the 707? Not 100% sure on this one, sorry!.... ;)

@@ElectronisoundsAudio no worries! i can figure it out, it's probably a lot of duplicate midi outs all set to a different channel.

Mapped and working. I didn’t want by get back into mirack, I’m trying to concentrate on my hardware synths but as Wal was kind enough to send me schematics for the linn drum he built in mirack I had no choice. I just hate Euclidean sequencers I like things a little more ordered for creating rhythm patterns.
@ElectronisoundsAudio4 жыл бұрын
@@kentaccordionist There are quite a few options for sequencers in MiRack though 🙏 - Meaning, you can swap a different one for the Euclidian for more traditional results. I've had some good luck with this sequencer for drum patterns: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2aulZ1viN-BaJI

I've been following your tutorials and learning slowly, mini learn for knobs and buttons is pretty cool, but how do I get midi notes in; I see there's midi section in miRack that has a bunch of midi modules, but I don't quite get how to patch them yet. Is this something you might cover eventually ?
@ElectronisoundsAudio4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I've not really experimented very much with getting the notes in from external sources, but I do show how to play the notes with an external keyboard in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXLcnZx_lsSqjtU (I would assume you could substitute a sequencer in AUM or any other source of midi from outside of Mirack, but not 100% sure.) It's been a while since I loaded MiRack, and i've just started my adventure into actual, real-world modular hardware. 😲 I'm hoping to learn more about connecting the two worlds together at some point, so there might be more Mirack videos to come! 👍👍

Hey dean, what gear do you use to make your videos, especially which cameras?
@ElectronisoundsAudio5 жыл бұрын
Hey Hey! All the videos this year were filmed with an iPhone 8+ and edited with LumaFusion on iPhone or iPad.😀👊 I recently learned that the videos will *never* be in 4k on KZbin if you upload them directly from the iPhone or iPad. (some sort of a limitation in the app?) I learned when I got my new iMac a few months ago, and have been uploading all the videos from the iMac now, instead of directly from the iPad. Now, KZbin is processing them all in full 4k! 👍👍 (of course you have to shoot in 4k, and render to 4k in LumaFusion, too...) lol

LOL at the pop-up disclaimer “yes I am a Novation fanboy” coming up, as if you weren’t already wearing a Novation T-shirt to let us know! On the subject of T-shirts, do you have any Electronisounds shirts available for sale?
@ElectronisoundsAudio3 жыл бұрын
Hey Hey! Thanks for the support! 😁🙏👊 Unfortunately, I tested out quite a few online t-shirt manufacturers, and they were all horrible. 🤔 😲 The quality of the ink they use is the problem, and even though I wear the shirts in my videos, up close, you can see just how awful the quality is. I wouldn't feel right charging people money to get shirts of this awful quality. Only *one* place gave me quality printed shirts, but they can't sell them individually to my customers, and they can't print on the back. Darn! 🤔

Can you use MPE controllers like Roli or Linnstrument in MiRack?
@ElectronisoundsAudio5 жыл бұрын
That is s tough one to answer as I don't have any MPE controllers. 👊 Sorry, I'm really not sure. What exactly would you want to map it to? To play notes on a synth? That can be done, but I don't know if you could use the extra MPE features. If you just want it to play notes like a regular midi keyboard, I show how to do that in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXLcnZx_lsSqjtU

MPE is not currently supported, but has been requested multiple times, so we're working on it.

@@mifki AWESOME!! 🔥🔥 What I would really love to see would be a way to set the *range of movement* on a midi assigned knob. So it would not always have to move from 0-128 when I move my controller knob. 🤓 👏
@mifki5 жыл бұрын
@@ElectronisoundsAudio That shouldn't be hard, what's the use case for it?
@ElectronisoundsAudio5 жыл бұрын
@@mifki Let's say I want to have a knob on my midi controller move a filter in miRack, but it only sounds good moving the filter between 400hz and 16,000 khz. I would like to be able to set that range in miRack, so that I can freely move my knob all the way from zero to max, but only turn the knob from 400khz to 16,000 khz. Meaning, for instance I could also set the volume range on a mixer fader to stop at 100, instead of going all the way to 128. Or to be able to set the volume(s) to stop at *any range*, etc. So I can move my controller faders all the way up and down, and still have my volumes correct. Or to be able to crank a knob all the way up in a live jam to maybe send a snare drum to a dub delay, but only send a pre-specified amount (set by the range control) to the effects send, not all the way to 128. I would use this the same way I would use a custom created "MACRO" knob inside of Ableton Live, Beatmaker 3 on iPad, or Massive VST, Serum VST, or Avenger VST, etc. I hope that makes sense! 😁🙏👊
