you can tell this is old school since aerogarden doesn't have all these fancy shiny colors anymore lol

I am a (((((huge))))) fan of aerogarden and have been using them for many years...way back when you made the systems using fluorescent lights. I have four units! They are wonderful and then some. I wish I could show pictures of the amazing things I grew...strawberries, hot peppers, tomatoes, flowers and herbs. I just recently got one of the new LED systems and can’t wait to see how they compare to the fluorescent systems I had much success with. I will be using these systems for as long as aerogarden continues to make them...which I hope will be forever. :)

They should warn not to use fluoridated or chlorinated tap water. Using your own seeds is better too. Not the prefab kits with old seeds. Just buy the extra media and empty pods using fresh non gmo heirloom seeds.

Stinchfield Ranch what kind of water would you suggest? Alkaline, spring etc...
@brucekmules4 жыл бұрын
@@MsNubiansoul regular tap water works fine. Just as long as there are no additives to it. I live in a small town and the city water comes from local wells. They do not add chlorine or fluoride. I add a little hydrogen peroxide to water to super oxygenate the water. Plants are happy.

Many parts of the country get potable water coming through their garden hoses, which is treated and our plants still grow just fine. Old seeds can be a problem, though, true! But they do have a guarantee.

I bought the 3 pod system on sale. I was so excited, but 2 of the 3 pods didn't sprout. The dill did sprout after 2 weeks, and it was so spindly that it was to week to grow up through the opening to get light. Also the roots sat in the water, and the whole plant which was less than an inch tall went limp, rotted and died. I bought more pods, and planted my own seedlings started with my own seeds. One rhubarb chard is still alive, but the others are not. I, needless to say, lost my excitement. My plants in soil on my deck are in planters and are thriving, so I know I have a green thumb. The store where I bought the kit said I can bring it back, or try another one, but I'm not ready to cry defeat. If anyone has suggestions I'm open to hearing them. Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. I can grow anything in dirt...but I totally failed with this unit...though I love the idea of it . I am going to try the blank pods and use my own seeds and see what happens. Also, although the instructions say to start the water with plant food....I suspect this might be the problem...I think to germinate they just need good ol' tap water.UPDATE: Success! 4 out of the 6 pods grew wonderfully!!!

If you're going to sell aerophonics learn more! The water may evaporate in a hot house a tiny bit but the plants drink the water!!!
