On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

That would defeat the purpose of the engagement. The skill is not knowing what your opponent is doing and taking action. The tension for us viewers is like riding along with GS as he reveals how to counter against all odds.... not knowing what his opponent is doing. His tactic worked, got him over the water.

Turkey HAS NOT f-16 viper at all. Greece has currently have 18 rafale f3r. They also have 24 mirage 2000-5. They also have 5 F-16 vipers which will gradually become 83 in total.

Could dropping tanks be useful in a BVR fight? Is it possible the tanks could decoy incoming missiles? Also, have you ever determined the result of dropping tanks over civilian inhabited areas? Have your tanks ever done damage to buildings or people on the ground? I know this is simulation, but it is still interesting to me.

Dropping the tanks in BVR won’t have any effect on the incoming missiles because they don’t emit anything. Dropping tanks in dcs doesn’t do any damage too to the land or civilian areas, the damage that they could do isn’t modeled at least in DCS. As for the utility of dropping tanks in BVR the most you can get i think is more maneuverability but as far as for other things they will not help :)

​@om3gaa-_-849 also worth noting on the Mirage 2000 and the F-15E having external ordnance increases RCS so you can get picked up further away. But mostly, dropping tanks makes it easier to accelerate and maintain speed, which obviously is critical in BVR.

For a while, I thought this was going to be the first GS video to end without a single shot being fired. But the Mirage just had to start something and as a result, ended up with a nice little ticket to AMRAAM City. You should do this again against a Greek Rafale since Greece also got some Meteor missiles when they purchased the planes.

Cyprus map is well modeled. kyrenia, nicosia, gecitkale (lefkoniko) and Beşparmak mountains (kyrenia mountains) look like the real thing. The Dogfight seems to have taken place on the Turkish side of the island.

I think he did, but since GS went defensive almost immediately at top speed, the Mirage couldn't close much distance until GS turned to recommit.

Could you elaborate? The Mirage defended against 5 of the amraams and only got hit by the 6th because they were so close distance-wise and over water. With the last fox-2 by the Mirage, GS dumped so much countermeasure that he ran out, it wasn’t like it was an easy win

mayb this is an idea. do like 10 (possible) bvr fight where it is random who is gonna attack like u and the dude ur flying against is gonna get a yes or no out of a randomizer and if its a no to u u cant be the first 1 to shoot. sorta like the coldwar.
