Love seeing the appreciation for the F1 and the 3 existing variants with 1 more one the way. They did a great job with the plane and I find it very interesting to fly. Dual 30mm are powerful. Really fits into DCS current and planned plane releases.

Love Aerges' attention to detail. I smiled from ear to ear when they announced they're doing the F-104. As for the F-1, I've always liked it, but couldn't quite put my finger on why. It quickly became one of my favorite aircraft shortly after doing my first circuit. Flies as good as it looks.

I love the Mirage F1 to bits, it feels so good to fly even without a fancy pants FFB stick, it just has all the right inputs and it just feels right from the get go, this thing and the Mi8 are my two favorite modules. Chinook now that its gotten some of its trim systems in place is gonna be sneaking up on these two but thats a totally different ballgame and much more modern and more like flying the much newer stuff. It basically flies it self... but its very well done! The F1M is coming, I dont know the progress on it but it will be part of this module, insane to me that we get 4 variants of this jet in one module!

F1, the best plane in DCS!

for pedals (non-ffb), there is MFG Crosswind and nothing else. get that and don't look back. variable dampening (via turning a dial), brakes, etc. I use it for the Mi8, it's brilliant.

I have a jetpad with simshakers for aviator. Its really great. things like buffeting, afterburners, pavement bumps, airbrakes shakes, I put it on the seat and back rather than the stick (except buffets)

I like flying the F1 from time to time. It is a bit challenging, and it has its own feeling.

Having had to pick up a new car recently, I'm going to be angry every month that I'm having to pay almost the equivalent of a FFB base to have a working car to drive around. Now I just need FFB pedals and throttles with interchangeable grips to come out...nothing too demanding! I really feel like FFB makes airplanes that I might not otherwise really feel a need to fly sound much more fun. The F1 has always been pretty interesting, but so far, not enough for me to pick it up. But the old planes look like a ton of fun to fly with this kind of interaction.
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
Yep exactly! Hope the car is worth it 🙂
@aaronwhite17862 ай бұрын
@@CommandT Haha, thanks! I already hate that I have to pay for something I need to get around doing something I hate (driving) but I guess it beats being stuck at home...

That FFB would be way nicer though.

By the way even without a FFB stick they have done a decent job with the implementation of the Mirage F1's "Arthur" system.....it really gives a good impression of high airspeed handling. At the moment I am waiting and hoping for the upcoming WinWing FFB stick to be good ....and a little more affordable 🙂 I'm really enjoying this kind of video ! What do you think about the implementation of FFB in the DCS F4 and F14 ?
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
Ah that’s good to hear. The F-14 no idea as I don’t fly it, the F-4 is fine but has some questionable decision making with some certain FFB stuff on the ground. But overall I just don’t like flying it very much. Maybe more so just because the way it is, not necessarily because of force feedback.
@franciscgedeon92372 ай бұрын
btw, I saw some 'seat vibrators' implemented with bass speakers attached to the seat. DCS provides some output to control that via a dedicated interface. guy built in on a barebones budget, so can't have cost a million quid.
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
Ha that’s an interesting idea!

Now they started to fix the nose oscillation problems from the start of development its an absolute joy to fly.
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
Yeah I missed out on this since I never tried it in the early days
@PhantomMark2 ай бұрын
@@CommandT I really couldn't fly it to start with, the nose wobbled all over the place, made it near impossible to get the nose on target against ground assets with the gun or rockets. I reckon the Mirage and the Phantom might be a good dogfight ? I have a feeling the Mirage might pipe the old Phantom tho :D

The stick force does not change in the hornet. It's a spring and dampener. The effect is that you need to increase the stick displacement (and force) beyond that AoA to command more AoA. The inceptor in the hornet is a spring.
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
What you said doesn’t make no sense. You can’t have stick displacement “beyond that AoA”. What do you mean by that? The stick forces in the Hornet do increase at high AoA compared to low AoA. Full stick deflection at 350, 400kts will have a different force as opposed to the force when deflecting the stick at high AoA. I believe the stick in the hornet also has a stick force per G relationship, so stick forces change depending on the G.
@jubbernaut40492 ай бұрын
@@CommandT pitch rate and G feedbacks are in effect at high speeds. As the aircraft slows, the FCCs schedule stick force per G until 22aoa at which point it schedules stick force per AoA. It's providing improved handling qualities throughout a large airspeed range but the effect is on the pitch rate command for a given stick position, therefore force as it only has a spring for stick force. Hope that's a better explanation.
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
Ok so perhaps a better explanation in layman’s terms is that the pilot has to pull back more above 22AoA to get the desired output for a higher AoA, even if the force is overall the same, but perceived to be greater as you have to pull back even more. But yes, fair enough. I see your point 👍
@jubbernaut40492 ай бұрын
@CommandT yeah sorry. Not a great explanation on my behalf initially

I can guarantee you flat spin is a thing on this aircraft (my first few hours with it will remember), BTW it's an amazing module for many reasons, like the cockpit lights that are blindingly brights, the good old analog flight that feels just too good, the speed recovery, the sounds (which are like 95% accurate to what I could hear on any mirage-f1 video, I was surprised too tho) the details, liveries and the possibility to fly 3 variants of it ...
@CommandT2 ай бұрын
How did you manage to make it go into a flat spin??
@SalePlouck2 ай бұрын
@@CommandT I pulled the stick hard on mid altitude while slowing down and managed to make the compressor stall at the same time, If I remember correctly I had a few degrees of bank

For the next dogfight with the fighter pilot, I think we need gun equipped 737 or A320s, and have you try and dogfight those...
@alexandrsavochkin94422 ай бұрын
Interesting, I think when the F1 module was just released it run into flat spin pretty easily and it was hard to recover. Looks like something was change since then, I also noticed it is hard or impossible to run into spin. Not sure if it is more or less realistic

M2000 is FBW bird, not analog anymore. The real interesting thing will be Mirage III. Maybe the producers of F1 have a plan to work on it, who knows. That will be a bestseller for sure. And not only because of FFB.

It’s not highly saturated. It’s the NTTR desert texture colours that are off in some places and make it look too yellow. I agree that this could be better but overall for all other situations and other desert maps my colours seem very good to me.
