I'd like to see an exploration/scout variant. It could get paired up with exploration ships, namely the Freelancer DUR as it fits one nicely. It could have an enhanced scanning package, and extra hydrogen tanks in place of some of the weapons. The primary use case in my mind would be short range exploration into places that you wouldn't want to risk the main ship, like maybe scouting out debris laden wrecks or large cave systems, or something along those lines anyway

I know its variants are combat focused but I would've loved an industrial version of this with tractor beams. Loading and unloading Hull C, D and Es with a bunch of these zipping around would be REALLY handy given how massive those ships with their exterior cargo grids are going to be. Especially if time is a factor and you want to bring multi-crew gameplay to cargo hauling.

I'd love a stealthy scout/recon craft with just 2 size 2's, no missiles, but extra storage space like the herald to record whatever you find. A racer could be nice. And a version with a small tractor beam that can move around filled 4 scu boxes maximum. That would be so sweet. As for which ship I'll use to get them around? Liberator :D And whatever else I need to use that can fit one :) Fuel is going to be a problem though, so ideally you have ample space for extra fuel for it on the mothership as well.

Bought both variants of these to park in my friend's Corsair. I suck at navigation (and a little bit at piloting lol), so I got both warbond so that I can zip around and do all the strafing runs I want with zero consequences (lifetime insurance baybheee) while the Corsair gives me heavy fire support.

imagine if it was slightly longer and had drop pod type seats on each side behind the cockpit which are compact like a modern spacecraft. Makes it into like a super compact shuttle that can deploy from a corsair to keep the mothership hidden from wherever the assault team might need to go.

Light fighters will not have enough quantum fuel to move across Pyro, so instead of a gladius flying beside a caterpillar to give it support, you'd need a snub packed inside instead!

Possible Variants could include: Ship scale tractorbeam. Useful to tow ships off POI or move out of the way of a hanger. Cargo scale tractorbeam. Assist in loading/ Unloading the "Hull" Series type ships. Salvage With only 1 SCU of storage. Main job would be to FIX ships vs salvaging them.

FYI, launching swarms of parasites from every ship (with the interior space to squeeze them in) may not be possible in the future. I remember CIG stating that they were considering a mechanic that would disable quantum travel when there are unsecured vehicles on board. So, say you have a pad that is designed to support two ships but you have managed to Tetris four ships into that same space, you wouldn't be able to spool up the quantum drive until the two "unsecure" ships are removed. Personally I'd like to see such a mechanic added that will prevent this sort of interior space exploitation. I think it's important for the health of the game that ships which are not designed to carry a swarm of ships, do not carry a swarm of ships.

Yeah it feels like CIG is a little unsure about "if it sits it fits". In their last communication in ISC it seemed like they supported the idea of just parking anywhere, but we haven't heard concrete information in a long time unfortunately. Appreciate in the info!

@@Space-Tech I was reminded in a Reddit thread that life support capacity will also be a thing, upon completion of the room/environment system. Once that system is in place, the number of personnel that may be on board the ship concurrently will be restricted. There is also a chance that there will be high performance life support systems available that could support additional personnel, perhaps with some sort of trade off. Will be interesting to see these features fleshed out.

I always have to point out that the TWO seater Reliants have a much better cockpit view and that the co-pilot is also a turret gunner. Also, the Kore has SIX size 2 guns and the Tana can be spec'd the same way in ADDITION to 28 missiles.

Think about a repair or little refueling version thats chnaged the weapons for tiny tanks of fuel or repair materials that and be stored and used like emergency repair craft like on something big like a carrack or idris just a sort of last resort ships almost completely fucked but a few tiny patches in key places keep it going ot a few drops of fuel to get her somewhere would be lovely

@@Space-Tech so its really hard to even try and squeeze a fury into its actual cargo hold (i managed to after taking a large chunk of damage.) but also the tanks after being removed still have their space saved on the ship so you can put a fury there and you can still QT with it for now. so id say if your lucky you can put 5-6 in the cargo bay and at least 1 per fuel tank if you remove the tanks.

The Fury really can't take any hits at all once the shields are down. Even if it has some hit points, it loses a wing with the first hit it takes and with that wing goes an engine. That makes it spin out of control, so even a single hit after your shields are down will take the Fury out of combat.

and as avenger_one showed, it basically cant even win when it has the number advantage vs other snubs etc, it also goes into a death spin if it gets the slighest scratch, so my thoughts were this ship is intended for things long-term, basically they released it now so folks can have some fun with it, but its main role is actually a expendable NPC ship for use within fleet/larger scale combat , so you can pump ur numbers up and instead of wasting human pilots on the ships that basically act as a distraction, u put real players in larger combat ships and behind guns more valuable to he combat so u can get the most out of ur human players... after all who wants to risk the death of their space man in a flying egg shell every day... most people will prefer to let the AI handle those flights were death is almost certain, except for a few crazies that dont care about their reputation etc, who live for that high octane near death combat experience..... or have a alt account for such purposes... franklyu expect some people willl log one account on the main ship, so when their snubs explodes they will switch accounts and do a less risky role.

Are you really a carrier if you have to run home to service, repair and rearm the thing, not really. To keep yourself from wasting hours traveling back and forth to do all that, your ship would need to be able to do all of those things on the spot, even if you only had just one in the hangar to be legit or even useful.

Fair point, this ship has a ground fuel port as well as a normal one, so with the changes to missile rearming I we'll see more self reliant snub pilots :)

I curious to know how many people have blown up pulling out of their cargo bays, I know I did! I'm also curious to know how this thing is a Gladius or Arrow competitor with no QT. You have to call a timeout on the battlefield in order to even get this thing in the fight. CIG needs to stop that BS. This thing is cool and all but Arrow's and the Gladius don't need a team to make them efficient.

Hull hp values are still not even close to fully balanced at this point. I'm sure once armor values are a thing, they'll go through and standardize HP values. This is CIG though, so who really knows lmao

No quantum aside, there is virtually is no reason not to have a Fury, and that's very cynical marketing on CIG's part. Looks like it fit's in nearly anything bigger than a single seater, relatively cheap and punches way above it's class (remember, this is a snub competing with the best light fighter, the Arrow). Going to get real boring real fast if all we see are swarms of these. Hopefully, CIG will do what they always do, and nerf it in about a month (after plenty of sales, of course).
