I just adore Miranda for being such an animal advocate and using her celebrity platform to further the cause! Always rescue, foster, adopt, donate! Never dump, abandon, abuse! 🐾🐾💕

Thank you for pointing out how important shelter work is for the animals you support. A dog will have better chances to get adopted with some good experiences of us...

Bellamy reminds me of my late adopted dog, Harley-half Golden Retriever and half Cocker Spaniel. One of the best “comfort dogs” you could have!

Rescue dogs are so much fun! I love seeing such support for humankind’s best friends. Every bit of love we give makes a difference. Rescuing so manu dogs…that is so wonderful for Miranda Lambert to do. I be every pup has adored her just as much as she loves them. Cheers to life well lived and a heart well loved!

I wanted to suggest Craig Grossi for your next We Walk Dogs episode! He is the author of Craig and Fred, which is an autobiography about rescuing Fred from Afghanistan while Craig was deployed there as a Marine. Fred has sadly passed away, but Craig and his wife have a new dog Bingo who also has a pretty interesting backstory. They live in Maine so it would be nice scenery for the video as well.

I became curious about comfort retrievers and started doing some research. I am not looking for any pets right now, as I recently lost my last rescue pup. At this point, I just know that the cat or dog distribution center will come when the time is right. First off, they are "designer dogs" basically another form of oodles which I don't condone the backyard breeding practices and puppy mill practices that "Designer dogs" are bred under. Second, the breeder/puppy mill I looked at is breeding so many dogs that they have a co-ownership with locals (which does place the dogs in homes between breeding. The price on these "comfort retrievers" was 11,500.00 for what is basically a mutt (mixed breed dog). There isn't even a true breed cross in this case they are breeding goldens with miniature poodles to get the small size, but there is no standard, and can be any combination of golden and small breeds. Excessively expensive mutts! Even if there was a standard I wouldn't support the breeding of "Designer Dogs" as the fact is they create dogs with both hair from a poodle and an undercoat which is extremely problematic and mats easily. They are bred in backyard breeding or puppy mills and are not working towards a healthy standard. The breeder I looked at had dozens of available puppies in ranges of ages and sizes, and a reputable breeder will have a waiting list and not have dogs or cats available because they are only breeding on a schedule that is spread out for the health of their animals and they homes waiting to go to. Never get a pet from a breeder that has available stock ready to go at the time. First rescue, because there are a ton of pure bred dogs at the shelter.

I think it's that and their loyalty. Loyalty is not that easy to come by with people.

Invariably, my favorite part of these sessions is when the dogs are off-leash, which is all to short a segment. It's so amazing to see them frolic! That begs the question: whey are they on a tight leash for most of the interviews?

I named my rescue female red dobie...... Lucinda, Lucy for short. And yup, she's a typical ginger. The funny thing is I'm one too, the ginger, not the dog. Thanks for the great stuff. Woof woof

How is "Sure" the correct positive response to "Do you mind if I...?" I don't get it. Same with "I could care less..."
