My middle daughter swears that this is her song. All of my children handprints are on our back porch. She learned guitar in her room & on the front porch. The front porch is where we have (to this day) "porch talks". Her 1st fish was caught from our pond in the back. Makes me smile to think of it. My husband built this home for me to raise our children in. We saved every penny we could to build it. No Morgage. Our home & land truly has blood, sweat & tears poured into this place. We even carved our initials in a tree. Lol. It's not the material things but the memories behind it all.

This has always been one of my favorites by Miranda. I love it when she shows her softer side and just picking a guitar. So genuine. If you enjoyed this you would like "Over You" that she co-wrote with her now ex-husband Blake Shelton. And more laughing is awesome! Like joking about Miranda burning stuff down! Lol

This song! Touches my soul, I cry every time that I hear it. It inspired me to go back to the neighborhood that I grew up in. There was nothing left of my childhood home, just a vacant lot now! It was like letting go of so much pain. I cried all the way home. I'm not sure why. I left all the pain behind, but it was also the pain that made me who I am and I am a good, kind and caring person. I made it out! I survived! I said goodbye.

I got to go back to my childhood home a few years ago, turns out a gal I went to grade school with lived there with her family. We met up at a party after not seeing each other in at least 15 yrs, and she said I could come over anytime. I took her up on the offer. It wasnt exactly the same (no brown floral 80s couch lol) but I appreciated that she let me come in. It wasn't much but it was home. This was a sweet song.

Just came across your channel while looking to play Miranda’s video of this song. I listen to this song every time I miss my parents. My parents died a year apart from each other when I was almost 17. My mother and her 8 siblings grew up in the same house as me and brothers. We didn’t have much, but we did have love, food and a roof over our heads. I can’t go back and visit. I was forced to sell it or it would be condemned. There were bad memories and good. But, like the song says, it made me who I am😊 love your reaction. New subscriber! 🤟🏼

Miranda is so talented. She can hit you with that outlaw country and then sing a beautiful ballad such as this. I don't know much about her private life and don't care. It's none of my business. She hails from the same part of Texas that I'm from. About 30 miles away. As much as this song touches me, there have been many concerts where she would get very emotional and she could not get through the song. The audience just picks it up and sings it back to her.

I just got goosebumps listening to Dion and Aaron Neville in Abraham,Martin and John. You really need to listen to other Aaron Neville hits one of the greatest singers ever was..amazing voice. He's in his 70s now..he is one of a kind. He can sing anything and often does it on first takes..truly amazing. Another great is Etta James in I would rather go blind a song she wrote. When I think of the greatest I think of Elvis, Aaron Neville, Etta James, Tina Turner.
