Governments in California and New York hate small business owners. Reason why they do nothing to protect small businesses and let crime ruin them. Sorry, I'm going political. Yet, Southern California and New York are pits and need to be washed out. Feel bad for those in northern California. They don't have too many issues. Yet, they are stuck with a crap government. Maybe they should break away and make their state. Not like Hawaii can hit the headlines a second time.

Corporate greed, in the end it’s always people making those decisions. Corporations are set up so everyone can later say ‚if I hadn’t done it another one would have‘, like a firing squad has some people shooting blanks so it’s easier for the individual to deny responsibility. But in the end it’s always people doing this.

Sandro is a shining example of a real MAN. Honest, hardworking, places utmost importance on family, and operates with integrity. Along with all those things though, and just as important, he’s not afraid to show emotion! A real man can be a hard-working tough-guy, but he isn’t embarrassed or ashamed to show his emotions and cry every once in a while. Even only having seen Sandro on video, he seems like one of the most genuine people you could ever have the blessing of meeting. It seems good people like him are always the ones that get screwed over, but they’re also the ones that almost always land on their feet. Plus, other people are much more willing to help out someone that's genuine and willing to work hard when something bad happens and they need the help. At lot has drastically changed at Donut since Sandro first appeared on RMS, but he’s made so many fans that would be more than happy to do anything they could for him and his family, even if it's something as simple as donating a few dollars through a GoFundMe or something like that. I know he still has another shop and isn't totally out on his feet, but I’d be proud to be a small knot in his safety net of fans if he ever needs us!

I completely feel you my friend. 2019 to March 6th, 2024, I had a 2,000+ sqft production studio (photography/video) on almost an entire block. new landord told me he was going to turn the entire place into a tow yard. 7 days later, I was completely closed, lost my business, gave over half my equipment/gear away as I had to be out right away. here we are 7 months later, and so much lost and I have to face reality I might not go back into that business. I am glad you still have your other shop.

Hi Sandro, I'm writing you from Spain but I'll use english so everyone can understand. My grandfather had a car shop that was also just him. When he was 14 years old he started working on a factory as a machinist on the lathe (short after the Spanish civil war, going to school was a privilege), and years after getting married he decided to open a car workshop with no training and no experience. Just a couple of car books and a rundown workshop. A lot of time of my childhood was spent on that car workshop and whenever I smell oil or the fluid of Citroen hydro-pneumatic suspension that brings me back to my childhood. Seeing you cry at 4:00 made me cry in the same way I cried when I saw all the tools and still functional machines of the workshop sold for scrap by my uncles and the workshop demolished. The shop was not part of my inheritance and I even if I really liked it, the building was made using asbestos and I did not have the financial means to properly rebuild it, so my uncles decided to sell everything as scrap and use the money to demolish the building. It absolutely broke my heart. I got to know you from Donut videos and you always make me laugh when I have a bad day at life. I gotta be honest, sometimes I though "oh, this guy is not a pro... His shop is dirty and disorganized and he does botched jobs" or "this guy would take any job even if he doesn't have the knowledge to do it". But seeing this video I see my grandpa. His workshop was also dirty, disorganized, he took jobs he was clearly not able to do but he was alone and busted his ass to provide for the family the best way a kid who started working with 14 years on a shitty factory and didn't go to college could do. He had customers because he didn't rip off anyone and if a part was not available for an old car (or the customer was could not afford an OEM part), my grandpa would machine something himself on the lathe. I remember him making gears for gearboxes for little money, while at the dealer the customer was asked to replace the entire gearbox. I'm sad that you have to close the shop man... I wish you all the best of luck in life, and also to your employees

I'm so sorry, Sandro. If a man can't cry, he ain't a real man... you got me in tears too. So many memories, like I had with my Nana and Granda here in Scotland. I can't go back to the place I grew up with them, even the land they signed over to me in '91 without shedding tears. It's where I grew up living with them most of my life, learning to drive when I was 10, breaking his fence posts drifting and getting into trouble! They were more of parents to me than mine were... I couldn't stand to live with my Mum due to my Stepdad... an ex-cop and at that point a prison governor... he beat my Mum and I still hate his sorry ass for that. He's dead now and I still don't miss him... does that make me a bad person? My Nana passed in '97 with a aortic aneurism, which broke me but, I had to be there for my Granda. He always watched me build cars, far to many to count! He passed in '03. I was kicked out by the solicitor and couch surfed until I got my place on 5th November '05. Been here ever since, made more happy memories, got married to my wife in Alabama on 21st November '12 and now we're planning on our next step of emigrating to the US to be close to her autistic brother. Always keep your memories close to your heart, big guy. You are one solid dude. Here's to the next part of your journey making more memories. Much love from Leigh & Rachel. ❤

Even though Sandro hasn’t been in my life long, the joy he and Angela and them have brought me is unquantifiable. I feel for your loss but this video will always be there to show future generations and hopefully you can build a new spot to make memories for the new family that the future will bring you.

That was a hard watch, would be so hard to leave somewhere with so many family memories and stories, you did all you could do to try and save it but as you said some people just have deeper pockets and know the right people. Best of luck with the other shop and I wish you all the blessings for continued success 👊 love from Ireland 🇮🇪

Much love homie. ❤ My family’s farm got bought by a rich guy that wanted to pretend he was a cowboy. Thanks to people like him it’d become impossible for the family to afford to keep it. I still remember the look on my grandad’s face as he held one of the bricks he’d pulled out of the wall of the basement and just kept talking in circles about how his dad had made the bricks by hand. Know you’re loved and appreciated.

Despite watching RMS for a year, this is my first time here. First, thanks for being so open to not just show what meant so much to you, but allow us to see what it meant to you. Second, I choose to remain hopeful that there is some way that this place will come back to you fully, not just the usage or access to it. Third, I hope your physical health is well. Dropping 200 pounds is astounding. Last - those pictures of your uncle are amazing. peace to you and your whole family. - cw

Very sorry brother. As a shop owner for 25 years I can totally relate to everything you are going through. Those last days with an empty building are the worst. I can say that you seem like a fighter and you need to be. Just know that this isn’t the end. Shit just makes you stronger and smarter. The memories are yours bro, those suits can’t take that away. F them anyway. Hang in there, keep fighting, you have more people that love you than you know.

My condolences to the family for the loss of your Grandmother. It’s beautiful to hear the stories and memories of not just a job but a lifestyle and a generation of working on cars that is dying. I remember being a kid, wanting to work on cars in an hood shop but by the time I grew up, most had shit down in my area and I got into the dealer world. You’re right about many things but the memories ain’t gone. They are with you. In your heart and in the hearts of your family that worked there as well as the communities you affected. You’ll bounce back from this brother. Keep that chin up.

Sad to see my neighborhood landmark close down. The amount of times Miranda’s shop saved my ass. Bent my 20 inch rims from the local pot holes too many times and always brought it there to get it worked out. Eventually we made a trade, my 20 inch wheels and tires for a stock 2008 Honda accord set. Which made total sense since I was there damn near every week getting it reshaped. Forever grateful! Wishing y’all the best, the neighborhood isn’t going to be the same without y’all.

You could start a youtube car channel and move Miranda's to the virtual space. You have a huge following of people that love your personality and knowledge on here. I know it will never be the same as the real thing, but it will be a way to make some scratch doing what you love. I am not even a huge car guy but still watch all the videos you are in because you make it funny and interesting. Nothing but love from me in MS.

Man, that is really sad. It is hard to leave a place behind that is so rooted in your family's history with all the memories. My parents had to sell part of the home me and my siblings grew up in and had to downsize the rest. It is really painfull saying good bye to a place that is connected to so many memories. I hope you can take the mural with you and that the second spot is good. Wish you all the best man! As my father recently said: don't be sad to lose it, be glad to have had it. P.S.: Big bussiness sucks.

My man. You are NOT losing those memories, they will be with you forever. This is a place. It's not about WHERE these memories happened, it's about the FRIENDS AND FAMILY you were with when you made them. FAMILY matters, PEOPLE matter, things, and places come and go, the ones you LOVE… They are FOREVER. I have ZERO DOUBT you are going to land on your feet. Hug your kids and wife, tell them you love them…THAT'S what's important, PERIOD.

I mean in a way but being around the same place and same things helps to bring memories back to the surface easier than when you've moved on and are somewhere else making different memories and the less often you remember something the weaker the memory becomes cause your brain can't hold onto everything forever

Business is cruel. I was let go yesterday because I refused to do overtime with a 2 hour heads up. I already had plans for the afternoon. In the grand scheme of things, business is run by people on people, but somehow we've forgotten that we're still people.

If ceos and shareholders could be good with lesser salaries and actually pay a living wage, then middle-class working people could afford to buy homes and live in real communities again. We live in 2024, and things should be getting better, not worse. We've seen what happens when we let capitalism go wild, now we need to reign it back and keep people's greed in check. Everyone deserves to live a good life

@@RD-io6smget in writing that’s why you were let go. Even an at will state, you still cannot terminate for certain reasons. If they mess up and give you something that states it’s because you refused overtime, you have a wrongful termination suit. It will only work if you have it in writing though.

I just crawled out of a rock because I didn't even know who you were until just last week I started watching "real mechanic stuff" I'm like, this fool feels like a real homie. Then this video pops up and it took me way back when I used to live in Huntington Park. What you described was the norm for so many homies, ALL THE MEMORIES. Those times is when you meet and know who the "real ones" are. Left absolutely EVERYTHING and started all over in a new state. Wish you nothing but the best bro!

My dude!! This is the first I heard this! Seeing you getting emotional hits me in the feels! Unless your mind is shot, memories are NEVER gone. They can flatten the building... They can build high-rise condos for the homeless... you will always have your memories of the way the shop looked, the memories you made just like you did here as you walked through. The only difference is that the images will have to be pictures or in your mind. Stay strong, my dude! As they say, this too shall pass. NOTHING but positive vibes and love for you and your fam, Sandro!! 🤜🤛
