I love dedicated leather cleaners. Make the leather feel great IMO. Normally I don’t like 2:1 detailing products but I find the leather cleaners with very light conditioning agents like McKees 37 leather cleaner makes the leather feel super supple! Then I usually Follow up with gyeon spray on leather sealant.

Good work on that interior. Minimal leg room in the back of that Mazda! Just an observation….maybe would be better to vacuum and steam the carpet before cleaning the dashboard? Interesting you used a leather conditioner - I was under the impression that leather/vinyl is always coated in the factory to protect it and so conditioner won’t penetrate this coating. My go-to product for leather is the Colourlock kit which comes with a cleaner and a separate shield coating product. Did you mention some detailers remove carpet to clean underneath….wow, never heard that one before!

Hi. Thanks for the tips. Everyone has their Procedure. we always start from the top down, I've tried it the other way before and it doesn't really work for us, lots of backtracking still whether the dash and console is done first or last. I like to work in controlled sections around the vehicle. But again, everyone has their methods that work for them. As long as one is efficient, profitable, and the customer is happy, that's what matters right.😎👍 As far as leather goes, true its "coated" but still porous, the conditioning is not as it is for real uncoated leather, but rather for UV protection and a keeping it hydrated which is more important. So yes, not actual Real leather "conditioning" But still a very important part of the process. Thanks for sharing!

Re:gloves. I’m assuming you’re talking about surgical style gloves? Maybe try the style with rubber palm & inside face of the fingers but have a stretchy breathable backside. I’ve seen a pair by Milwaukee that has thinner rubber than others of that style-very light & tactile.
@MirandaDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes I’ve tried those types of gloves also and still, my hands sweat and It causes my hands to flare up. I’ve tried everything. It’s best for me to not wear gloves and simply wash my hands often…which I do.

Thank you so much Phil.. I know the satin or matte black is a whole different story but I just wanted to be sure...
@MirandaDetailing2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. Actually you can also use sealants on matte finishes. It doesn’t gloss it up or anything. Spray sealants are best for matte vinyl.

Hi Phil, great video and helpful tips. Qwik question: can I apply gtechniq C4 directly over Cerakote ceramic trim coat? The Cerakote wipes were sort of dry, and left a lot of steaking. Is there any way to fully remove the Cerakote, so I can appply C4 directly, and evenly? Thanks!

Thanks! If that happens just wipe it down with a panel wipe or Isopropyl Alcohol and then use the C4 Coating.

Quick question: I applied CSL to a motorcycle and would like to put on EXOv4. I applied CSL on Sunday (4 days ago) and would like to put on EXOv4. Is there any prep I need to do? Bike was in garage for the 4 days, and not exposed to elements. Bike may have tiny bit of dust. Thx!

Hi. You could blow down the motorcycle to get any dust off and just apply EXOv4. Since it’s been 4 days Im j no it sure exactly the effects or if it will bond probably however.

Fellow detailer, I believe you are asking how long it took Phil & his wife to do a full detail? If so, no two details are alike, some full details take about 12 hours, some take about 30 hours. Because of that, I charge by the hour, not by the job.
@MirandaDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Hi. It’s not really considered a basic service, it is a full interior and exterior detail. Depending on the condition of the vehicle it can could take 2 hours or 5 hours for the two of us.

Why not use a Bissel spot cleaner to clean the carpet? Wouldn’t it be easier?
@MirandaDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Good questions. Sometimes we do if it’s necessary, but that can leave the carpets oversaturated. Steaming and using the tornador blower if faster and leaves the carpets dry within minutes. 😎👍🏼

Hi Thanks. Sometimes its a matter of painstakingly picking at it, or if you have an air compressor with a a good nozzle that will help dislodge those particles also.

Try a detail tooth brush with the white stiff bristles with air or worst case grab a toothpick but be careful not to over stretch out the holes. Also sometimes the actual side wall of the hole is stained so might not look 100%
