Good stuff Phil! If anyone isn’t aware, 3D Speed is a combination of 3D One’s abrasions & 3D Poly’s montan wax. It’s an absolute pleasure to work with, especially with a uro fiber pad. You can pre-stage and put droplets of Speed around the car, buzz around it, then wipe off as you round rosy. Could definitely top off with Bead It Up for prolonged protection & hydrophobics.
@MirandaDetailingАй бұрын
Thanks! It used to be a combo of HDpolish when it first came out. But I don’t think they make HDpolish anymore after they discontinued the HD line. However it doesn’t feel or react on the paint like 3D One, but maybe they changed the formula after coming out with 3D One.

Not because it didn't work but it's 80s tech. you get a ton of fling and it dries very quickly. The rest aweome! Heck I still use Meg cleaner wax in a pinch once in awhile. I DO like the CG hexlogix pads, I find them comparable to the LCC. Keep it up bro. The common sense you use has always served me well also! lol

Good information Phil as always. I just got the Technicians Choice Ceramic One Step Primer Polish. I am going to top it with the newer version (EU version) of Fusso Coat as the base sealant layer over the Tech Choice Ceramic one step polish, then use the Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray as the drying aide weekly diluted 1:1 and then once a month with the Ceramic Detail Spray neat. Curious to see what longevity I can get from it. My car is garage kept all the time so I should get some good durability out of that combo. I also just got the new Gyeon Total Remover as I like trying different products after a while so the Total Remover can strip off any of the old sealants before I try something else down the road.

Ive been using Speed and 505 correction glaze (also 3D) for a few years now and i can tell you that my findings are the same as yours. When used properly, they remove the swirls. When i get the cars back in after a few months, they still look great. I use the Flex forced drive polisher and either the Lake Country orange or blue pads, or something similar. Most of my machine polish jobs are one steps using these products and if worked for 6-8 passes starting with heavy pressure then finishing up with light pressure, i can get 95 - 100% defect removal on softer paints and 80-90% on harder paints. Usually all that remain are the random deeper scratches that require wool and heavy compounding. The 3D 505 has a little more cut than Speed but Speed leaves more of a wet look finish due to the silicone polymers it contains. Both great products that id be lost without. The reason i prefer them over using a true compound like 3D ONE is because the wax content in them makes the wipe off quicker. Once done with the one step i normally wipe over with 3D Bead It Up and it boosts the gloss further and bolsters the protection.
@MirandaDetailingАй бұрын
Awesome findings!! I haven’t tried the 505 version yet but heard it’s awesome like you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

Would 3D speed be a good water spot remover?
@MirandaDetailingАй бұрын
If paired with a microfiver pad it can cut through water spots if they are not too old or hard etched. But first hit the water spots with a water spot remover to get the initial minerals, then tackle the remaining spots with a polish

What the difference between 3D speed and 3D One? Thx
@MirandaDetailingАй бұрын
Hi. Great Q! So 3D One is a hybrid compound polish. Similar to Speed its pad dependent and can cut really well and polish really well when paired with the right pad. Speed doesn’t cut as much, and it also has protection built into the formula where One does not. So One is not considered an AIO polish.

@mirandadetailing how to tell if paint is hard or soft?
@MirandaDetailingАй бұрын
Hi. You can only tell once you do a test spot polishing. I start with a medium pad and polish and see how the looks after that it needs more cutting then the paint is harder clear , if it removes the majority of swirls it’s softer clear. It doesn’t go by year, make and model anymore.
@kimnewling5728Ай бұрын
First of all, how do you like the Rupes polisher? And second of all, do folks say that a.i.o. are fillers? I've polished a black Ford truck to about 90% defect free, only to have it come back completely swirled again by the owner. I took pictures of the hood both times, and swirls were completely different. Polish didn't fill in and wash off. Good proofing video, Phil. Hi wife
@MirandaDetailingАй бұрын
It’s pretty good! I have a video I still need to edit on my thoughts on it. Yeah I have talked to many detailers and watch detailers on KZbin say that AIO only fill. But perhaps more people have used them properly since then and that idea is know myth busted. I started using 3Dspeed years ago when it came out and used it the same way we use it today and got awesome results, then I would comment in forums and tell people that it’s awesome and actually corrects and I would get thrashed for saying that!
@1stfrompuertorico568Ай бұрын
@@MirandaDetailingPhil, many times I have used it too and until I have showed a couple of my friends here they can correct because I move slower then they see it better. Thanks for having a video for more people to learn really about it. By the way, I have done it with my old workhorse GG6 and my G9 and G8 too 😜 I always have issues with flat pads and I prefer using the non flat pads with soft paint and AIO, so I attribute that to the soft paint since I have always also noticed that sort of difference between hard and soft paint. Basically, with flat pads on soft paint any polish is more grabby than with hard paint. So, that's why I prefer using the non flat pads with soft paint. I don't know if you have also noticed that or it's just me? Thanks for your input in advance.

I have fell victim to the fad of short and long throw polishers from many companies when all else fails if it's not broke don't fix it I'm old school and Mike phillips will back me on this but the only true way to go is good Ole rotory buffer and wool pad
@MirandaDetailing23 күн бұрын
Rotaries are great. We still use them sometimes. But I don’t compare one to the other. Each has their place and each Detailer can choice what they want to use according to what they personally find to work for them. I don’t cater to “this is the only way” Detailer rhetoric. Use whatever works for you. But I tell Detailers to be careful about saying what the “best” there is no best product or tool. It’s objective and personal choice
