I've listened to this a few times and weirdly just now realised how deeply Finnish this is - the folklore is full of stories of children abandoned in the forest, or ghosts of those children, and of course, we do love to sing about death. Even lullabies are about death.

I remember hearing this on Jool's Holland Radio show back in 2015. This song doesn't get the attention it deserves and it's always an amazing listen. Massive Hunger Games vibes. Much love

I found this song occasionally, but it touched me so deep. I am thinking of an old tradition to left newborns in the woods during long hunger, when people realize they don't have enough food to raise them. Such a horror for a mother...

Makes a listener happy for performers like Mirel, Valerie June and Trixie Whitley. Great young vocalists bode well for the industry once you go past all the pop princesses foisted non-stop on the public.

The best album from Finland in 2014. It has a typical melancholic, yet message-powered Finnish style. She's from sort of "country-side considered" town of Espoo, quite near by the capital Helsinki.

+istellarus Espoo is biggest city in Finland after Helsinki and just next to Helsinki. God damn, know the facts..

I think this song is about the mother who murdered her daughter in the song "goodnight", now burying her daughter underneath an oak tree and keeps singing her the lullaby that she sang to her when she was killing the daughter.

Grim stuff, yo. Perfect for a few more profound "chills" to help with hot weather. And, well, somehow appropriate-feeling for reading ghost stories.

You think Neil Young has ever done something that hasn't been done before? She learned from those before her, just like he.
