Comments from the runner, David 'Weatherproof' Streeter: "The general tricks I used in this run:
Side-step Boost: If you are at a standstill, strafe and jump at the same time, then look in the direction of your strafe. It takes a little bit to get used to, but you'll be running full speed from a standstill if done correctly.
Wall-Run Boost: Wallrun and then jump right off, your speed will increase a bit while in the air. It doesn't seem to be affected by level loading or specific timing, making it easy to do.
Jump-Kick: When opening doors or breaking through glass, it is (usually) faster to jump in the air, then kick the door/glass open.
Wall-Run Kick: When wallrunning, kick off the wall and there will be a slight "cushion" that will reset your falling height, allowing you to descend from some falls without dying.
Fall-Break Kick: If falling in a straight line (like from out of a vent), kick before landing instead of rolling. You'll be able to start running instantly instead of waiting to finish the roll animation.
Jumping up stairs: It is faster to jump up stairs than to just run up them.
Wall-Climb: Run at a wall, climb up vertically like normal, do a sidestep in mid-air, then jump and look towards the ledge and hopefully Faith will grab the ledge. This allows you to get to high to reach places quickly.
Use Slide: Only works on PC :( If you have to use something (such as a button, or pipe), slide into it and press your Use button at exactly the right time. This will trigger the event without playing the animation, saving time. For the Use Slide, I mapped my Use key to my mousewheel. I don't have a fancy sliding mousewheel, it's just the standard one you find on most computers.
I did not use the Wall-Run Kick Jump because that is a very black-magic-like trick that rarely works. I have never had any luck getting it to work even rarely, let alone consistently. This is one of the best tricks to do in the game though so you will see segmented runs using this frequently.
I did not use the Coil Boost because it doesn't work 100% of the time, it can slow you down if not done right or the game feels like loading while you're in air or landing, and it only boosts your speed by a marginal amount. So more time was saved by not using it and focusing more on consistent running and not having my speed be reduced to zero from having botched one landing."

Not really, the story for the first game was a mediocre story, not really suited for a sequel. The whole point of the game was the gameplay, which was something we've never seen before, that first-person imersion. I think a reboot is the best thing, they could finally make a proper story, and polish the gameplay even more, we will finally be able to do all those sick moves we always saw in the loading screens.

Silver Volpe Exactly, I really hope it's gonna be great. If they make up a great story with an open world utopian city and a seamless multipalyer integration, Watch Dogs style, they might have a winner on their hands. Though as much a people hate EA, I respect them for going forward with Mirror's Edge, even if the first one didn't sold that well, the reboot is made puerly because of the artistic value of the game.

The great thing about this game is that it emphasizes the existence of a kind of superspace called "rooftops" in cities. The image of a human with superhuman abilities or a cyborg flying around the rooftop often appears in 'The Matrix' and 'Batman'.

If you play the game by yourself for the first time then it will take (my experience) over 5 hours. Of course there are some games with much more story/gameplay but you have to look this way on this godlike game: - all the details (i.e. the news on the telescreens; the brainwasher textes in the elevator "How you recognize a runner"; all the scratches on the surface of walls; etc.) - awesome music in the game => kinda a bit silent with clean sounds => really fits in the concept of a future world controlled by the governement - one of the BEST SOUNDTRACKS I have heard in my life (lyrics fit very good in the game) - like I said a bit short story but damn, I better play Mirror´s Edge than being tortured by the shit in MW3 - an OUTSTANDING protagonist who you can easily emphatize with (not only because of the 1st person view) I really hate most of the new games (The Last of Us was pretty cool tho) because they destroy everything what you liked about games in the 90´s and early 2000´s. But this game... This fantasctic game has just so much soul in it and you really can feel that the producers worked ASS HARD to make the game how it is. Thanky you Lisa Miskovsky for making the beautiful track. Thank you DICE for developing this awesome game. Thank you EA for publishing.

Nice Run! Man this game is exciting to watch! It's whole different deal to go up against your peers heavily armed and armoured than to run from overwhelming opposition unarmed. +CockatooDude Actually it refers to anti-government activity known as running, that is delivering dangerous and likely illegal data as it seems to be a reason to use lethal force. It was mainly a warning to parents that they know what their kids really mean when they talk about "running" and possibly as a propaganda/warning message to others. Yeah, the game has changed quite a lot. It's a very fun run, I'm close to getting sub-40 minutes myself but it's very intense. You should watch the old world record, it's a 39;26 on Vafflan8's channel. Absolutely insane run.

I started to play this for the first time 2 days ago on Xbox 360. But my dog is greedy. There was an empty crisp packet on the sofa where I was sitting. The dog, being greedy, wanted the crisps. My other dog, who was sitting next to me, thought dog 1 was trying to steal her space next to me and growled at him. He walked backwards into the Xbox. Called kickglitching. Insanely hard to do and you can only jump off one frame. You can't fly, if you want to continue the kick glitch (make it a chain) you need to hit another wall and kichglitch on the same jump. But that's only one glitch in mirrors edge. We play a lot more, like sidestepping, Beamer, chapter skips.

Battlefield 4 has a lot of easter eggs indicating to a possible Mirrors edge 2 game coming out soon. Supposedly after doing research, it's supposed to be much better than this one. Dice is going to completely change the game, but have the Same style of gameplay, graphics, heights, red, and character. Red and white is a famous color In this game

EA has already confirmed more than once that Mirror's Edge 2 is in development. People like to hate on EA -- and with some justification -- but we should give them credit for continuing to support the Mirror's Edge franchise solely in acknowledgement of the artistic integrity and originality of the concept; the first game didn't sell very many units, so it wasn't a profit-motivated decision on their part. Coming back years and years later after me playing this as a child the game is still so exciting and it’s wonderful to see him doing it so swiftly and i struggled for months 😭 Anyone else realise how much stamina this girl has (the mirrors edge girl may or whatever) she runs for ages whilst getting shot at!
