Mirror Stenciling Techniques... and a Shaped Fold-Out Card!

Thank you Jennifer, I’ve been watching your videos for a few months. I had stopped crafting and making art due to illness and also we moved to Florida. I couldn’t bring much of my supplies but you have inspired me so much that I’ve been working on a project, giving BD cards to family members and a few friends. I’ve done 80 cards so far and 30 more to go. I wanted to thank you for the inspiration and motivation you have given me. BTW I’m still full time employed.

For the first card for cutting out the reversed Stencil you don’t even need to line it up to the light. Since you pushed your stencil into the same corner for both versions you should be able to take the negative space from the regular die cut, flip it over and put it behind the reversed inking so the pages are perfectly lined up, tape them together and then pop your die into the negative space. Awesome cards, I just love the layered leaves background of the second card, so pretty!

Exactly what I was thinking. Another option is to cut from colored card stock & line it up. Pop that in with the set to line up for either direction later on.

I think , like Corinne, I would be inclined to cut the first shapes out after stenciling, then cut the reverse shapes before stenciling, using the method she suggested to line them up. It's so lovely to see cards that aren't Christmas themed. I'm still on my summer holiday and Christmas is a long way off!

I love ❤️ this creative technique that you did. So beautiful too. Sunflowers come in so many colors too. A neighbor crafty friend of mine gave me a Pink Fresh Layering stencil kit and die cut for it. I am definitely going to try this. It isn’t the same flower.

I was wowed with the first five... then you just die cut ANOTHER 5 and glued them to the back!! We don't all think that way... but the result is polished and beautiful. Love this kit, and really enjoyed your video.

The fold out accordion design is just amazing!! WOW!! What a fantastic technique. And the second card with the leaf stencil is gorgeous. I love the colors you used for it. Stunning card Jennifer as I was watching you try and line up the dies for the mirror image I suddenly thought maybe you could cut the images out first, sit them back into the negative and then ink them would that work and be easier because you only have to flip the card over as well as the stencil. Hope you understand what I mean 😀

Jennifer to die cut the mirror image you could put one of the negative cut out from where you cut out the first panel. On the back of mirror image reverse cut out and put die in cavity then put through diecutter.
