For this observe them thoroughly, their interest, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives. Use the art of insinuation to seed that you share common perspectives (Maybe when in a group setting, indirectly). Basically, see the world through their eyes. I do not have an idea, to what degree you are using this technique. There is a surface level or physical mirroring, of gestures and movements. And then, there is at a deeper level, where you mirror their beliefs, values, interests, and more. This one is “manipulative”.
