I had the same issue, i must've known the name or seen the dvd without knowing anything else about it , it's so in line with all my interests and I only watched it about a week ago

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out because I’m a huge Jim Henson fan. Even then I thought the visual effects were a little dated. But you have peaked my interest and now I want to watch it again.

hahaha yeah one of my friends said the same thing he says it sometimes looks like 'bowling alley animation' ...it doesn't, that's definitely far too harsh but he's one of those people who'll spend more time hyperbollically trashtalking a film he likes than praising it....hope he doesn't read this he'll definitely know it's about him

@@PlayCONtent haha. I won’t tell him. I just re-watched the trailer and it reminded me how close the camera is on everything. I remember feeling very claustrophobic when I watch the movie back then. I bet if they even had the same budget today they could do so much better.

@Ted Sowards I honestly think it looks quite great even if it would look better today, it definitely does look a bit dated at times but i think the plot justifies a lot of that and it's still massively creative visually

sammmeee I used to always confuse it with Inkeart in my mind just because they're fantasy movies with some British actors from similar ish times- I'd never seen either when i made the confusion. now they're easy to differentiate because I've seen this but not Inkheart

wasn't alive by the time this was made, it was produced by his company though so I'm assuming people he'd worked with on the other films were involved

it does! he wasn't actively involved since he wasn't alive by this point but what with the production company being his I'm guessing a lot of people who worked with him were involve and gave it that exact vibe
