I can't wait to try this Kyphi recipe! Our "sister" church, the Coptic Orthodox, I believe are still using Kyphi at the liturgy. It smells very different than the type we use in our Greek Orthodox Temple. Thank you for sharing your immense knowledge, and warm soul.

I'm colouring as I'm listening to all your knowledge and it so calming and got me thinking about the ancient tradition of visually learning from elders and listening to stories of the past 😍 appreciate you 🙏🏾

Yes, things have been crazy lately but good. My mom's dog just had ten puppies this week:) so I have come to stay with her for a bit and help take care of them.I love being able to spend time with her. And making this together with her will bring her into more understanding of my spiritual path and practices.

@stardancerNAMID Yes, it is. I love Sun's Eye oils.

How interesting. With the wine and the honey in the raisins and figs, what you are doing is basically lightly fermenting them. I can definitely see how that would give the finished product an even richer scent. Also, near the end of the video, I think I hear your dog snoring hehehe!

I don't see why not. I use a deep red as that is what my teacher used, but as long as it is a "deep" wine (not a light wine) it should be fine. Some sangria's are, I would think, too light, but I know some red sangrias have an essence that would work pretty durned good. It would bring more of the "fruit" feeling in. A good idea!

@MIRTHandREVERENCE One more thing, I couldn't help but notice that the bottle of lotus oil you have strongly resembles that of the Sun's Eye oil. Is it that brand by any chance?

Where can I find the Lotus oil? I When you say Ylang Ylang- do you mean essential oil? Thanks!

on the last four days of mixing the dry ingredients, do you still mix and add wine to the wet ingredients? Thank you soooo much for sharing this in such detail! I am preparing to obtain all the ingredients to make this as an offering to my dieties and elemental allies, as well as meditation and introspection.. blessings abundant!

I am making kyphi now, (on night 2 :) ) and also made an incense for other purposes but based on this recipe (but different dry ingredients). So I simmered the wet ingredients (I used figs vs. dates) and when I added the dry ingredients (herbs and resins) there was too much wet ingredients and I wound up with goop. Is there any way to remedy this?

On the wine, what about sangria?
@lauravilhena505711 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mirth for answering so fast. Well, the second part of video clarify the recipe yes, but i still have some doubts,hehe. Well,about wine, ok.. just to check did you say wine steeped in video part 1? and about the sizes, I heard something related to size of kyphi and I didn´t understand.. but maybeI can understand while you explain part by part..Well, And about the second part, did you mention the ingredient zafaron? is it? If it is not a problem for you,can I send you an email with doubts?

My Greek is bad, but I believe that Plutarch was very specific about the type of wine to use. Here's the passage. "... και βάλε μέσα μπόλικο οίνος του τύπου Ζίνφαντελ."

OMGoddess I wish you would give the recipe without your pseudo historical eurohistory . Yikes!!! The Great people of Kmt were African and what you call Kyphi recipe is ancient Nile Valley from the mountains of the moon near Uganda --Africa --You keep associating the Greeks to it and not giving credit where credit is due -The Greeks learned everything they knew from this ancient African first civilization ------Is there any hope ???

It's too bad you don't create videos, as you have information to share that would be of interest to many. Buried as a comment on an old video of mine this information will, unfortunately, not contribute much in the way of hope to enlighten the ignorant. The recipe I use, to my knowledge, is much more contemporary (New Kingdom) than the ones of the great people you have referenced. You indicate it is one and the same, and that is not what my research led me to believe. If you have scholarly sources that credit the recipe to an earlier epoch, I would be very interested in reading them. I have not intentionally failed to give credit where it is due ... the recipe I am using comes from a period that, sadly, was distanced from the powerful and beautiful Kemetic origins of civilization in the region.
