@@savitar8002 It was done during olden days when Video concept was not at all in existence. I myself have seen Vidwans performing so. The story is about a mridangam vidwan who lived several decades back. And after a long gap of 30 years, he is playing again. We can take it in the sense that for convenience sake, he is doing so. I am sure that only after thorough verification and research, adding his own imagination, he would have acted like that or requested by the Director to perform so. Unfortunately many fine concerts could not be recorded, perhaps either due to paucity of funds or non-availability of equipment. Video is of a recent origin. Even the structure of Mridangam might have been different and difficult to handle compared to the present ones and it is said that with little effort and with less strain, we can handle the instruments compared to olden days. Hence, such physical gestures were adopted by a few ti apply force. Even in string instruments like Violin, one could notice that eminent Kunnakkudi sir performed with different facial expressions ! When verified with a few famous medical personnel (including an established Nuero Surgeon), they all declared unanimously that such gestures are not at all against realism. V.GIRIPRASAD (69 Years)

@@blessosamraj1241 Yes, i don't know who BB is..but you cannot judge my music knowledge based on that...music is every where...if you believe that one has music knowledge based on BB..you will have to .... But anyway my comment is to portray the over acting performed by that actor not only in this song or movie over all in his career. He is not a natural actor...he generally adds extra weightage to the characters given to him just to show case his acting skills(?). He is not a pride of tamil cinema, like people glorify..In this particular song, KR Vijaya performance is the high light and classic.
