The poetic arts have played an influential role in shaping the ethical, theological & spiritual core of Muslim cultures. Harvard Professor Ali Asani, Pakistani singer & author Ali Sethi, & Grammy-winning producer Noah Georgeson bring alive, through musical performance, the poetic legends of South Asian Muslim mystic poets.
The Ismaili Centre, London, The Aga Khan Museum and The Harvard Club of the UK present:
Misaq-e-Ishq (The Covenant of Love)
Harvard Professor Ali Asani, Pakistani singer and author Ali Sethi, and Grammy-winning producer Noah Georgeson bring alive, through musical performance, the poetic consciousness of several legendary South Asian Muslim mystic poets as they extoll the transformative powers of ishq, interpreted variously as passion, devotion, ardor, commitment, or just plain love. Their poetry, spanning a thousand years, responds to the exigencies of their eras with an idiom that trumps orthodoxy, dissolves binaries, and invites audiences to understand and experience the human and divine through the all-encompassing lens of love.
Professor Asani’s work includes a focus on the relationship between religion, literature, and the arts in Muslim societies, and the role of arts as a bridge between civilisations. Ali Sethi - taught by Professor Asani during his undergraduate studies - is known for his acclaimed novel The Wish Maker, and made his singing debut on the popular music show Coke Studio.

such a beautiful improvisation of some of the difficult raags and words. mushkil alfaz ko sahe tallafaz sy ada krta hai ali, khasosan Khabare-e-tahhayyur-e-ishq ghazal from Siraj Aurangabadi. One really feels the mystical experience of Ghazals sung by him.

dear he is Ali sethi, the famous writer,singer,lyrics,and political intellectual.He has sung many songs in coke studio pakistan,a harvard university graduate and great human being.He has done collaboration with indian singers as well.
